The Month Dedicated to the Holy Family

“…But while he thought on these things,
behold the angel of the Lord
appeared to him in his sleep, saying:
“Joseph, son of David,
fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife,
for that which is conceived in her,
is of the Holy Ghost…”

(Mt 1:20)

Consecration to the Holy Family

O Jesus, our most loving Redeemer, who having come to enlighten the world with Thy teaching and example, didst will to pass the greater part of Thy life in humility and subjection to Mary and Joseph in the poor home of Nazareth, thus sanctifying the Family that was to be an example for all Christian families, graciously receive our family as it dedicates and consecrates itself to Thee this day. Do Thou protect us, guard us and establish amongst us Thy holy fear, true peace and concord in Christian love: in order that by living according to the divine pattern of Thy family we may be able, all of us without exception, to attain to eternal happiness.

Mary, dear Mother of Jesus and Mother of us, by the kindly intercession make this our humble offering acceptable in the sight of Jesus, and obtain for us His graces and blessings.

O Saint Joseph, most holy Guardian of Jesus and Mary, help us by thy prayers in all our spiritual and temporal needs; that so we may be enabled to praise our divine Savior Jesus, together with Mary and thee, for all eternity. Amen.

(Say an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be three times.)

Consecration to the Holy Family and Reflection by St. Bernard...

Our Lady of Emmitsburg

"…Especially now in this world with all the tribulations and turmoil, it is so important for you, my children, to focus not only on my Son, but also on the Holy Family.  There is your protection in a most loving way.  For I wrap my mantle around you, and I protect you.  My beloved Joseph guides you. He represents a just man, and he is an example of true fatherhood for all the world.  And then there is my Son, most glorious and omnipotent.  In His glory, which is so overwhelming, He gently smiles upon you.  Within Him is the greatest glory of the Most Blessed and Holy Trinity…."  (OLOE, August 7, 2003)

Feast of St. Claude de la Colombiere - February 15

Priest, Orator & Spiritual Director to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

“A strange and unhappy slavery is that of a man who seeks to please other men. I vow never to do anything nor to leave anything undone because of what people think. This will set up in me a great interior peace.” (St. Claude de la Colombiere, 1641-1682)

The Perfect Friend of the Heart of Jesus...

Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus...

What has OLOE said on this feast of St. Claude?

“…Soon enough I will outline to you the works of so many religious priests and nuns as well as seculars, who deviate from the Founding Fathers, and who do not support or give glory to God by their words or actions. For now, pray for all those who persecute both you and others. Know that this very serious matter will sooner rather than later be before them…. Each one will be held accountable, when they meet God face to face and when you meet God face to face, for how each has loved…. You must defend Truth, for Justice must meet face to face with God’s Mercy where holiness and faith abound in eternal glory. So you must defend the Truth, but you must forgive also!” (OLOE Public 05-30-96)

Despair Prayer

Lord, I am in this world to show Your Mercy to others. Other people will glorify You by making visible the power of Your grace by their fidelity and constancy to You. For my part, I will glorify You by making known how good You are to sinners, that Your Mercy is boundless and that no sinner, no matter how great his offences, should have reason to despair of pardon. If I have grievously offended You, my Redeemer, let me not offend You even more by thinking that You are not kind enough to pardon Me. Amen (St. Claude de la Colombiere, 1641-1682)

6th Sunday in Ordinary Time—February 17, 2019

In the first liturgical reading from the Book of Jeremiah on this 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Lord God, Yahweh, speaks about trust:

“….Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord
And whose trust is the Lord.
“For he will be like a tree planted by the water,
That extends its roots by a stream
And will not fear when the heat comes;
But its leaves will be green,
And it will not be anxious in a year of drought
Nor cease to yield fruit….”

(Jer 17: 7-8)

Certainly one of the most important and necessary attributes on our spiritual journey back home to the Eternal Father is trust.  However, far too often and for long periods in our lives, growth in trust is hindered or even completely blocked by fear—fear of loss of control, fear of taking a risk for God and fear of trusting in God.  Let us recall what God the Father in His Words to the world, Our Lord Jesus Christ in His Lessons, and Our Lady of Emmitsburg in her Messages have taught us about overcoming those fears and coming to know and to live the words, “Jesus, I trust in You!”

Fear I-Fear of Loss of Control, of Taking a Risk for God & of Trusting in God

Feast of the Seven Holy Founders of the Servite Order

February 17

In the early 13th century, 7 prominent businessmen from Florence, Italy, chose to retire from the world and devote their lives to the service of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a special veneration to her Seven Sorrow. They continue to spread over the Americas, Europe, Africa, and the Far East. Ten have been canonized and several beatified:

Rosary of the Seven Sorrows of Mary...

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on this Servite feast?

“…It seems many of you have hardened your hearts and have become quite proud in matters of spirituality. Did you forget that my Son presented Himself to the world with a meek and humble Heart; and as the only Savior of the world, He taught those who desired to know the Truth that they too must be meek and humble of heart?….
…Open your hearts and your minds to God's gift to you, for my days of visitations are numbered to my Son's messengers across the world. If the world continues to ignore the importance of prayer and moral ethics and does not restore them to their rightful place, the world will suffer a tragedy of a world war as never witnessed before in history….”

Feast of St. Bernadette Soubirous - February 18

French peasant, Marian visionary, Sister of Charity

“You will not find happiness in this world, but only in the next.”
(Our Lady of Lourdes to Bernadette)

(Say for nine days or as a perpetual novena.)

Dear Saint Bernadette, Chosen by Almighty God as a channel of His Graces and Blessings, and through your humble obedience to the requests of Our Blessed Mother, Mary, you gained for us the Miraculous waters of Spiritual and physical healing.

We implore you to listen to our pleading prayers that we may be healed of our Spiritual and physical imperfections.

Place our petitions in the Hands of our Holy Mother, Mary, so that She may place them at the feet of Her beloved Son, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that He may look on us with mercy and compassion: (Make Petition)

Help, O Dear Saint Bernadette to follow your example, so that irrespective of our own pain and suffering we may always be mindful of the needs of others, especially those whose sufferings are greater than ours.

As we await the Mercy of God, remind us to offer up our pain and suffering for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins and blasphemies of mankind.

Pray for Saint Bernadette, that like you, we may always be obedient to the will of Our Heavenly Father, and that through our prayers and humility we may bring consolation to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary that have been so grievously wounded by our sins.

Holy Saint Bernadette of Lourdes, Pray for us. AMEN.

One Decade of the Rosary.

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee. (Say Three Times)

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on the feast of St. Bernadette?

“This is a time of special grace, when my Son suffered for you so that you could be renewed and would know how truly you are loved…. There is a change to come soon. For many of you who have suffered so tremendously, the great gift of Joy is soon at hand. There will be changes in the world because God looks upon this world desiring to bring back once again all those who have walked away from Him. His Justice will prevail. All of you who love Him with all your hearts are protected with the Seal of the Cross and saved through His Precious Blood….” (OLOE Public 05-30-96)

“…I must die to myself continually and accept trials without complaining.
I work, I suffer and I love with no other witness than His Heart.
Anyone who is not prepared to suffer all for the Beloved
and to do His Will in all things is not worthy of the sweet name of Friend,
for here below, Love without suffering does not exist….”

(St. Bernadette, 1844-1879)

Feast of St. Peter Damien - February 21

Bishop and Doctor of the Church (1007-1072)

Prayer of St. Peter Damien to the Mary as Mother of Mercy

“…In your hands are the treasures of the Lord’s mercy. You alone have been chosen to receive this great privilege. Far be it from you that your hand should cease to give, eager as you are for an occasion to save the wretched and to pour forth your mercy. For your glory is not lessened but enhanced when sorrowful sinners obtain forgiveness and, justified, are taken to Heaven. It is our highest glory next to God, to behold you, to cleave to you, and to stay under your strong protection. Hear us, for even your Son honors you by refusing nothing to you - He Who is God, blessed forever. Amen.”

What has Our Lord said on St. Peter Damien's feast day?

“The evil one cannot irritate you with confusing thoughts if you have given Me your mind. Those who walk with Me and follow Me harbor pure thoughts. Their temptations can only be short-lived, for evil thoughts are not able to manipulate their actions…. If I have your heart, but not your mind, your struggles will persecute you with the complexity of analysis and acceptance of the Truth. You will doubt and easily fall apart at the simplest comment of mockery. You heart will suffer tremendously when it is not in unity with your mind. Your deeds reflect not only the desires of your heart, but also your mind. If your mind harbors impure thoughts and struggles with introspection, then your heart will suffer because this results in conflict….” (JOM, Vol II, #47, 02-21-90, Unity)

Prayer to Save America

During these critical times in U.S. history as well as in salvation history, the Foundation will be including this prayer on all e-newsletters.

O merciful God, we cry to Thee for pardon and for mercy.
We are an unbelieving and perverse generation.
We are disobedient, disloyal and ungrateful to Thee.
We have excluded Thee from our homes, our schools, our places of business.
We are no longer worthy to be called Thy children.
Merciful Father, spare America!
Forgive us!
Save us from the scourge we deserve.
Teach us Thy law, and move our wills to serve Thee today and every day.
Merciful God, please spare America!
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Pray for us!
