The Real Presence

The Feast of Christ the King

A Matter of Faith, a Matter of Fact

Beyond the Shadow of Doubt
“…If it's the scientific method people need to believe, then it's the scientific method that Dr. Ricardo Castanon can provide.  Indeed, there may not be any better way to tear down the barrier between science and faith than by proving Christ's declaration at the Last Super when He held the bread and said, "This is My Body" and held the cup of wine and said, "This is My Blood" (see Mk 14:22-24).

Interestingly, one blogger on Divine Mercy website from Stockbridge, MA, asks a question about the science of the Real Presence that we all might like to ask:

“What I cannot comprehend is how such an amazing occurrence as the biologically proven physical transformation of the Host into Christ's flesh and blood has gone so unheralded. The media  (secular) is so quick to wildly spread negative stories about Christianity yet they give so little attention to such wonderful occurrences as these. And what has the Church done to disseminate information about these events and are they going to do more? ….Why not broadcast this kind of occurrence often and openly to parishioners, the media and anyone that is willing to read such an enlightenment.”

     Anecdotal story regarding Dr. Castenon:

In the 2012 1hr 40 min podcast posted on Divine Mercy website, Dr. Castanon noted that he had also been asked over the last 20 years to evaluate several Marian apparitions.  Some early neurophysiological studies had been conducted by French renowned Marian scholar, Fr. Rene Laurentin, in Medjugorje as well as in the US and elsewhere.  However, the sophistication of these newer tests and the ability to compare the EEG findings of multiple seers in ecstasy made the value of these studies more significant in recent years.  Still, in all of these cases, Dr. Castanon and his team made sure to incur all these expenses themselves, thus owing nothing but the truth to both the Church and the seers.

In the spring of 2004, Fr. Laurentin brought Dr. Castanon to meet with my wife and me in Frederick, MD.  Arrangements were made for Dr. Castanon and his team to come to Fairfield, PA, to conduct a week long investigation of alleged apparitions.  In the fall of 2004, that did occur, and for 4 days interviews were conducted and a variety of filming and neurophysiological tests were performed in our home.  The week concluded with an 8 AM reservation at the EEG suite at Johns Hopkins Medical Center for a videotaped awake EEG during an alleged ecstasy, in which Dr. Castanon asked Our Lady questions and received answers during the seer’s ecstasy.  This entire event was also observed by Dr. Castanon’s team, Prof. Courtenay Bartholomew and me.

In May, 2005, Castanon met with us in Miami and revealed the findings, which were supportive and included the presence of delta waves on the EEG during ecstasy which have occurred in several other seers, and which have only ever been duplicated in a state of coma and in an alleged mystical ecstasy of a seer during an apparition.  Over the next 1 ½ years he sought to have 2 more expert neurological specialists blindly interpret these findings.  In the meantime, we were invited to meet with the US Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Pietro Sambi in 2009, and Sambi agreed to receive these reports from Dr. Castanon, encouraging Church authorities to revisit the alleged apparitions, and he promised to forward them to the Vatican CDF.  There they were buried.  The Papal Nuncio died in 2011, and Dr. Castanon received no response, although he still continues to carry on his work for God and His Church.

For centuries it appears that Heaven has been trying to support the Gospel message through mystical phenomena such as apparitions and locutions with urgent messages to the world as well as with messages providing solid Christian formation, in addition to cases of physical stigmata and Eucharistic miracles as well as all kinds of other miracles.  Yet, in spite of this, it seems that the mystical and charismatic qualities of the Church, the Bride of Christ, have become more and more avoided, neglected and feared.  Is it any wonder that the Church and the world face the end times so seemingly unprepared?  Where will the accountability lie?  Should not the phrase “source and summit of Christian life” be more meaningful to Christians than it appears to be? Has the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the hearts and minds of the world’s Christians, especially the Catholic Christians, become not so precious?

The Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Excerpts of the Spiritual Diary of Elizabeth Kindelmann

(1913-1985)
Budapest, Hungary

Elizabeth Kindelmann was the sole survivor of 13 children during the war and disease-ridden years of World War I in Budapest, Hungary. She lived in poverty till age 16 when she married. She had 6 children between 1931-1942, and then in 1946 her husband died, leaving her a widow with 6 children. Until 1961 she lived a life of poverty and survival, raising her children during a very difficult time. Then in 1962 she received a mystical call and a mission from Our Lord and Our Lady. Her spiritual diary was published and translated after her death, and the "Flame of Love Movement" has been approved by Bernardino Cardinal Echeveria Ruiz, Archbishop of Guayaquil, Equador, in June 1989, and the statutes of the movement approved for the whole Church on Oct. 22, 1996.

The Blessed Mother to Elizabeth regarding the Souls in Purgatory:

“…If at any time, you recite in my honor three Hail Mary's by calling upon my Flame of Love, each time a soul will be released from Purgatory. During the month of the deceased (November), upon the recitation of each Hail Mary, ten souls will be released from Purgatory….”

"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
"Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
and spread the effect of grace
of thy Flame of Love over all of humanity,

now and at the hour of our death. Amen.”

Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us!!!

Promise of Our Lord to St. Gertrude the Great

A Prayer to Free 1000 Souls from Purgatory

Our Lord told St. Gertrude the Great that the following prayer would release 1000 souls from Purgatory each time it is said. The prayer was later extended to include living sinners as well:

"Eternal Father, I offer thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, those in my own home and within my family.

 Amen"
(Approved and recommended by M. Cardinal Pahiarca at Lisbon, Portugal, March 4, 1936)

Thanksgiving Day - November 22, 2018

"Thanksgiving"

In the words of:

Holy Scripture

American History

God the Father

Our Lord Jesus Christ

Our Lady of Emmitsburg

Read ALL ABOUT THANKSGIVING......

In the Catechism of the Catholic Church,

we read about the prayer and offering of thanksgiving:

"Thanksgiving characterizes the prayer of the Church which, in     celebrating the Eucharist, reveals and becomes more fully what she is. Indeed, in the work of salvation, Christ sets creation free from sin and death to consecrate it anew and make it return to the Father for His glory. The thanksgiving of the members of the Body participates in that of their Head." (CCC 2637)

"As in the prayer of petition, every event and need can become an offering of thanksgiving. The letters of St. Paul often begin and end with thanksgiving, and the Lord Jesus is always present in it: 'Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus for you; Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.'” (CCC 2638)

Abraham Lincoln and Thanksgiving Day

On October 3, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered a proclamation establishing Thanksgiving Day, in which he chose “to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwells in the Heavens.” Would he have been able to do that today? Or would he have been mocked and slandered for being politically incorrect?

Abraham Lincoln 1863 Thanksgiving Proclamation...

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on Thanksgiving Day?

“…There are many people in the world who are struggling to find the Truth, …but they just do not know the Path…. We must join together; and you can change the way of the world. You can by unifying together and by following what God the Father has invited all humanity to do, regardless of race, religion or creed. If you do not join together, the whole world at some point will find out the Truth of the One God, the God of all the children of Abraham. However, there is a consequence for not responding to God's Truth. You can live now without responding, but later you may have a tremendous consequence to endure….” (OLOE Private 11-24-05)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg November 24, 2005...

"Children, when you pray - even though you have many petitions and many desires in your heart for healings of others — the very, very first prayer should always be in thanksgiving to God for life. Thank God! Praise Him! He knows what is in your heart before you say it. He wants all of your heart to simply praise Him, because that is what you do in Heaven - in union with all the other souls, you praise God endlessly! That must be always your first prayer." (OLOE Private 05-14-09)

The Feast of Christ the King

Sunday, November 25, 2018

On this Feast of His Kingship, we read in the 2nd liturgical reading we can visualize Our Lord assuming His Kingship and humanity finally recognizing Him for who He is and lamenting their indifference, disobedience rejection and desecration of Him:

“Jesus Christ is the faithful witness,
the firstborn of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth.
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and Father,
to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.
Behold, he is coming amid the clouds,
and every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him.
All the peoples of the earth will lament him.”

(Rev 1:5-7)

By His very nature, Jesus is perfect holiness, and as gift from God the Father, Our Lady is Immaculate and perfect holiness. Let us ponder what each has shared with us regarding the Holiness of Jesus, Our Lord and the King of all Nations:

The Cult of Holiness - Part 2
The Holiness of Jesus...

The Authority Prayer

In the Name of Jesus, I take authority and I bind all the powers and forces in the air, in the ground, in the water, in the underground, in the netherworld, in nature and in fire. You are the Lord over the entire universe, and I give You the glory for Your creation. In Your Name, I bind all demonic forces that have come against us and our families, and I seal all of us in the protection of Your Precious Blood that was shed for us on the Cross

Mary, our Mother, we seek your protection and intercession, with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for us and our families; and pray you surround us with your mantle of love to discourage the enemy.

St. Michael and our Guardian Angels, come and defend us and our families in battle against all the evil ones that roam the earth.

In the Name of Jesus, I bind and command all the powers and forces of evil to depart right now away from us, our families, our homes, and our lands; and I cast you at the Foot of the Cross to remain there forever. And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for You are a faithful and compassionate God. Amen.

What has God the Father said about this feast of His Son's Kingship?

“…Those who come to know and desire Truth will come to know true ‘freedom.' For this great gift today is a blessing from My Hands. The blessing belongs to you through My Son Who is King…. My Son, Who was forsaken and Who gave His Life on the Cross, redeemed you. My beloved daughter, Mary, spouse of the Third Person of the Holy Trinity, who was beside Him pleading for you, joins in this great gift of bringing and inviting all of you to ‘freedom'….” (GTF December 8, 2006)

Words of God the Father December 8, 2006...

Novena Prayer to Christ the King...

Litany to Christ the King...

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on her Son's great feast day?

“When you speak about ‘kings,' you look for a king to be noble, with all the riches, the glory and the fame. When you look to another type of King, perhaps you might consider something different…. He is a King with whom the people can join and live in unity…. This is true royalty and true nobility - to be so humble and so giving that no one knows or sees where He is…. The King of the Universe, the King of all Nations, the King of the World and your King, is omnipotent, yet humble and kind…. He is a King with whom people can join and live in unity. A true King is one who allows the people to live in such unity and peace that neither in giving nor in taking is there any animosity….” (OLOE Private 11-25-07)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg November 25, 2007...

On this day the Church honors the Kingship of Jesus Christ, a Kingship that He Himself declared and that has spread in His Church throughout the world over the last 2000 years, a Kingship which soon is to be universally recognized in His Eucharistic Reign:

Litany to Jesus, King of all Nations...

The Eucharistic Reign of the Child Jesus...

Quas Primus - Pope Pius XI Encyclical on Christ the King

“…The faithful, moreover, by meditating upon these truths, will gain much strength and courage, enabling them to form their lives after the true Christian ideal. If to Christ our Lord is given all power in Heaven and on earth; if all men, purchased by his precious blood, are by a new right subjected to His dominion; if this power embraces all men, it must be clear that not one of our faculties is exempt from His empire. He must reign in our minds, which should assent with perfect submission and firm belief to revealed truths and to the doctrines of Christ. He must reign in our wills, which should obey the laws and precepts of God. He must reign in our hearts, which should spurn natural desires and love God above all things, and cleave to Him alone. He must reign in our bodies and in our members, which should serve as instruments for the interior sanctification of our souls, or to use the words of the Apostle Paul, as instruments of justice unto God. If all these truths are presented to the faithful for their consideration, they will prove a powerful incentive to perfection….”

Feast of Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity - Nov. 25

Carmelite nun and mystic, St. Elizabeth of the Trinity was canonized by Pope Francis on October 16, 2016, and not joins the illustrious company of so many other Carmelite saints:

Her story...

Prayer to the Trinity
by St. Elizabeth of the Trinity

O' my God, Trinity Whom I adore, help me to forget myself entirely that I may be established in You as still and as peaceful as if my soul were already in eternity. May nothing trouble my peace or make me leave you, O' my Unchanging One; but may each minute carry me further into the depths of Your Mystery. Give peace to my soul; make it Your Heaven, Your beloved dwelling and Your resting place. May I never leave You there alone but be wholly present, my faith wholly vigilant, wholly adoring, and wholly surrendered to Your creative action.

O' my beloved Christ, crucified by Love, I wish to be a bride for Your Heart; I wish to cover You with glory; I wish to love You – even unto death! But I feel in my weakness, and I ask You to “clothe me with Yourself,” to identify my soul with all the movements of Your Soul, to overwhelm me, to possess me, to substitute Yourself for me that my life may be but a radiance of Your Life. Come into me as Adorer, as Restorer, as Savior.

O' Eternal Word, Word of my God, I want to spend my life in listening to You, to become wholly teachable that I may learn all from You. Then, through all nights, all voids, all helplessness, I want to gaze on You always and remain in Your great Light. O' my beloved Star, so fascinate me that I may not withdraw from Your radiance.

O' consuming Fire, Spirit of Love, come upon me, and create in my soul a kind of Incarnation of the Word; that I may be another humanity for Him in which He can renew His whole Mystery; and You, O' Father, bend lovingly over Your poor little creature; cover her with Your shadow, seeing in her only the Beloved in whom You are well pleased.

O' my Three, my All, my Beatitude, infinite Solitude, Immensity in which I lose myself, I surrender myself to You as Your prey. Bury Yourself in me that I may bury myself in You until I depart to contemplate in Your Light the abyss of Your greatness.

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on this great Carmelite's feast day?

“…No rock will be over-turned, no end will come before all that is true shall be revealed. Everyone will be held accountable - all peoples, all races, all genders and all religions, those holy and those who desire not to follow God. All will know the Truth! Those who lead others away will have a time of hardship, more than those who do not know what they are saying or doing…. That is why many priests do not immediately go to Heaven - because in voicing their opinion they lead some others astray…. Very, very few of you will survive because, if you do not have faith and believe with all your heart, even the least doubt will wipe you out…. As you grow in humility, you will see that when your heart is on fire for God, nothing else matters because God will make everything true and right….” (OLOE Private 11-25-09)

Feasts of St. Catherine Labouré
 The Miraculous Medal

November 27 & 28

Rich in the tradition and heritage of the Double Family – St. Vincent de Paul, St. Louise de Marillac, St. Catherine Labouré and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton – is Emmitsburg, Maryland. The local Vincentian priests and the Daughters of Charity continue to carry on this legacy. Central to the Marian devotion that has evolved from this tradition is the Miraculous Medal.

The Miraculous Medal and its Story...

9-day Novena to the Miraculous Medal...

Prayer of St. Catherine Labouré

Whenever I go the chapel, I put myself in the Presence of our good Lord, and I say to Him, “Lord, I am here. Tell me what you would have me do. If He gives me some task, I am content and I thank Him. If He gives me nothing, I still thank him since I do not deserve to receive anything more than that. And then I tell God everything that is in my heart. I tell him about my pains and my joys, and then I listen. If you listen, God will also speak to you; for with the good Lord, you have to both speak and listen. God always speaks to you when you approach Him plainly and simply.”(St. Catherine Labouré, 1806-1876)

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on this great saint's feast day?

“It is the same with the Miraculous Medal, a great gift from St. Catherine Laboure! She was ridiculed, mocked and treated with indifference, as if she was not even present. Is that not the same type of treatment you have received? They treated her as if she was ignorant, uneducated and stupid. Is that not what, here at the Center of my Immaculate Heart, people do to you?... Wear the Miraculous Medal! Pray, pray for miracles through the intercession of the Saints; and never doubt to whom God the Almighty desires to give a great gift, as He has now.” (OLOE Private 11-28-06)

Prayer to Save America

During these critical times in U.S. history as well as in salvation history, the Foundation will be including this prayer on all e-newsletters.

O merciful God, we cry to Thee for pardon and for mercy.
We are an unbelieving and perverse generation.
We are disobedient, disloyal and ungrateful to Thee.
We have excluded Thee from our homes, our schools, our places of business.
We are no longer worthy to be called Thy children.
Merciful Father, spare America!
Forgive us!
Save us from the scourge we deserve.
Teach us Thy law, and move our wills to serve Thee today and everyday.
Merciful God, please spare America!
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Pray for us!
