It’s Not News, or Is It?

“This is My Body that is for you.  Do this in remembrance of Me….

This cup is the new covenant in My Blood.

Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me….”

(1Cor 11:24-25)

So humbling Himself as to assume our human nature and be born into our world in a cave as a poor and helpless infant was not enough.  Living a difficult, hidden life of survival in obscurity for thirty years was not enough.  Preaching and teaching, healing and loving for three years without a home in which to live or his own bed to rest was not enough.  Allowing Himself to be humiliated, tortured and murdered as an offering of Himself to atone to the Father for the sins of mankind and for our salvation was not enough.  Leaving Himself truly present with humanity in the form of bread and wine for our spiritual and physical nourishment was not enough.  Allowing Himself to be locked in a tabernacle in hundreds of thousands of churches and chapels around the world 24 hours a day, often abandoned and neglected, was not enough.  Watching for two thousand years, and most sorrowfully over the last 200 years, as mankind has treated Him and His Mother and His Church, more and more indifferently and even blasphemously, was not enough.  What is enough?

          Our Lord Jesus Christ:

“I wish for My people to know that I am in their midst at all times, but in a very real way I in My Most Blessed Sacrament….When you come before Me, be at peace.  Rest in My Love.  Put aside all distractions, fear, worry and concern.  Realize you are before Me and contemplate My Love and goodness.  If you will absorb My Love and rest in My Love, your heart, mind and soul will be rejuvenated and will rise to an ecstasy of joy….You are resting truly in My Most Sacred Heart where I am carrying you and sifting through all your needs and organizing all your spiritual and temporal needs for the glory of God the Father….”  (JOM, Vol V, #1, Nov. 11, 1994)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg:

“You do not know the great gift that Jesus my Son has left for you in the Most Holy Eucharist.  I do not think that you truly believe and understand the entirety of His True Presence and of all the great gifts He has to give you….Do not allow one moment to pass without giving Him the praise and the glory that is so necessary and most fitting for a King, One who gave his Life for you, from its inception at His Birth in the Cradle through His Death on the Cross.”  (Public OLOE, June 13, 2004)

“Contemplate His infinite majesty….Give Him praise and thanksgiving for His goodness….Give your entire being to Him in perfect adoration….Receive Jesus’ merits by uniting with Him in the most sacrificial love of the Mass.  It is in the Mass where you not only receive His grace, but Jesus Himself….If you consecrate all of your being to Jesus during the Mass, you will join Him in offering to the Father His immolation on the Cross.  Then you will be intimately fused together in His Body and Blood, never to be separated.”  (Public OLOE, Feb. 13, 1997)

“…There will be a time of peace and no disease, a time and place where every human being will live in unity and come to know the Truth of Jesus through a Eucharistic Reign.  Every human being will understand and embrace Mercy and will know the True Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.”  (Public OLOE, Mar 9, 2000)

Our Lord Jesus Christ:

“Humanity does not realize the importance of children; and because they do not understand the gift of the life of a child and the gift of My Death for all children, which all people are called to be, then they cannot realize the return of the Child in My Most Sacred Presence in the Most Holy Eucharist….All shall know the Truth of the Child, the Omnipotence of the Child, the Joy of the Child, the Wisdom of the Child and the security within the Child.”  (Jesus to Gianna, private, April 29, 2003)

That Is Enough!

Feast of St. Isaac Joques & the North American Martyrs

October 19

Fr. John Hardon, S.J. writes about the spirituality of martyrdom and sufferingso heroically demonstrated by his Jesuit confreres:

“…Let us ask the North American martyrs to obtain for us something of their great love for Christ, asking Jesus to give us the grace of mingling our blood with His because even though we may not shed our blood in death, we are all expected... to live a martyr’s life...”

Fr. John Hardon, S.J. on the "North American Martyrs"...

What has OLOE said on the feast of North American Martyrs?

“…In order to see someone as Jesus sees them, you must focus on God’s goodness in the person. You must overlook the human weakness and sinfulness of the person and ponder how, through Mercy, good surfaces in the end by means of Love. Humans are weak and sinful, but that does not mean that every human cannot obtain everlasting life. It does not mean that sinners cannot change and become God’s instruments of Peace….Mercy is not judgmental. It is seeing others with the eyes of Jesus….” (OLOE Public 10-19-95)

Feast of St. Paul of the Cross - October 20

Italian Priest, Founder of the Passionists

“My heart breaks when I think of the sorrows of the most holy Virgin. O' tender Mother, unutterable was thy grief in finding thyself deprived of your dear Son, and then in beholding Him dead in thy arms! Ah! Who can realize the sadness of Mary when she returned to Bethany after the burial of her Son? Jesus expires on the Cross! He is dead that we may have live. All creation mourns: the sun darkens, the earth trembles, the rocks burst, and the veil of the temple is rent in twain; my heart alone remains harder than a rock! All I say to you now is, console the poor Mother of Jesus. It is a miracle that she does not die; she is absorbed in the sufferings of Jesus. Imitate her.”
(St. Paul of the Cross, 1694-1775)

Litany of the Passion...

Prayers of St. Paul of the Cross...

What has Jesus said in a private message on this day in 2008?

“…When I was given My Cross, for all the way to Mt. Golgotha and even when hanging on the tree…, the Church authorities' purpose was only to make sure I was dead and out of peoples' sight and mind. They did not want anything or any person to interrupt their plans…. Life carried on…. They swayed and scattered, forgetting My Love and good works in honor of My Father. They thought that within a short time all would be forgotten…. Fools as those people were, so too are people fools today!...” (Private Our Lord to Gianna, October 20, 2008)

What has OLOE said on this celebration of the Passion?

“…If you sin, then only you can confess your sin. No one can confess your sin for you…. If you love and do not displace your attention from my Son, then you are safe. Perhaps there are areas in not only your lives, but others' too, that have blinded you and them from seeing who they are in relation to God, what they have done, and what they need to do. That is why you should leave all to God - easier said than done. However, do your best….” (OLOE Private 10-20-09)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg October 20, 2009...

“When you are alone in your room,
take the crucifix,
kiss its five wounds reverently,
tell it to preach to you a little sermon;
and then listen to the words of eternal life
that it speaks to your heart;
listen to the pleading of the thorns,
the nails, the Precious Blood.
O' what an eloquent sermon!”

(St. Paul of the Cross, 1694-1775)

29th Sunday in Ordinary Time - October 21st 2018

In today’s Gospel reading on this 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time, we find Our Lord chastising His disciples for their arrogance and their desires for personal gain and position.  Instead, He reaffirms to them the role of prayer, suffering and humility needs to play in their and our personal journey to holiness:

“…Can you drink the cup that I drink or

be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized….

For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve

and to give His life as a ransom for many….”

(Mark 10: 35-45)

Let us ponder what Our Lord Jesus Christ in His Lessons to the world and Our Lady of Emmitsburg  in her Messages have shared with us regarding that same journey:

 Ponder, Part 3

Feast of Saint Pope John Paul II - October 22

Pope, Bishop, Poet, Philosopher, and world leader (1920-2005)

“Be not afraid!”
(First public words of Pope John Paul II, Oct. 22, 1978)

“To humanity, which sometimes seems to be lost
and dominated by the power of evil, selfishness and fear,
the Risen Lord gives the gift of His Love,
which forgives, reconciles and reopens the soul to hope.”

(Pope John Paul II)

Novena to St. John Paul II…

What has OLOE said on the feast of her beloved St. John Paul II?

“...Jesus wants you to live a realistic life, accepting the truths about yourself and lovingly accepting the truths about others. Dispel the fallacies which can cause distortions to the truths about human relationships by having an understanding and forgiving heart. Dispel the negative forces of hatred, cruelty, spitefulness and disrespect for others by seeking the power of Love. The power of Love will destroy the forces which seek to tear down and will reshape the world….” (OLOE Public 10-22-98)

“…My Son will not allow the sword to pierce my Heart any longer because the world must know that this is the Center of my Immaculate Heart. It is not simply a temporary place for people to come, but the place which my Son has blessed me to select for the whole world. Just as my Son could not contain Himself from coming into the world from Heaven above, so too He cannot contain Himself from unveiling His Divine Mercy….” (OLOE Private 10-22-07)

“…Even if people walk away, all are invited to return. There is no favoritism in God’s Love. Yet the people of the world continue to move on, day by day, as if there is much time to spare in their lives….It is far better to be prepared now, than to wait for illnesses, misfortunes or any threat of catastrophic events. It is better now to be here, safely within my most Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart and the Heart of my Son….” (OLOE Public 10-22-07)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg October 22, 2007...

And finally, what did Our Lord say in a private message on this special day in 2008?

“…The Church has lost her charity! What is forthcoming could have been prevented, but it is through the hands of her own ignorant and righteous Bishops and Cardinals that what could have been prevented will unfold.

“Stay firm in your love and focused on Me. I will not leave you. This world wants change and freedom; yet, they do not realize the chains that will bind them when they are restricted and are concerned for maintaining their own measures of life, then fear will consume them. Various peoples and groups will come to My Mother’s Center for aid and healings….”(Private Message from Our Lord to Gianna, October 22, 2008)

“Faced with today’s problems and disappointments,
many people will try to escape from their responsibility:
Escape in selfishness, escape in sexual pleasure,
escape in drugs, escape in violence,
escape in indifference and cynical attitudes.
I propose to you the option of LOVE,
which the opposite of escape.”

(Pope John Paul II)

St. Anthony Mary Claret - October 24

Spanish priest, Cuban Bishop,Founder of Marian Claretian Order

“A son of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is a man who is consumed with love and who sets on fire everything in his path. He is a man who unceasingly expends himself to light the fire of Divine Love in the world. Nothing stops him; he places his joy in privations, he under- takes all works for the glory of God; he embraces willingly every sacrifice, he is happy in the midst of calumnies; he exults in torments. He can think of nothing but working, suffering and seeking at all times the greater glory of God, and the salvation of souls to imitate Our Lord Jesus.” (St. Anthony Mary Claret, 1807-1870)

Novena Prayer to St. Anthony Mary Claret

St. Anthony Mary Claret, during your life on earth you often comforted the afflicted and showed such tender love and compassion for the sick and sinful. Intercede for me now that you rejoice in the reward of your virtues in heavenly glory. Look with pity on me (or on the person afflicted with illness or whose conversion is desired) and grant my prayer, if such be the Will of God. Make my troubles your own. Speak a word for me to the Immaculate Heart of Mary to obtain by her powerful intercession the grace I yearn for so ardently, and a blessing to strengthen me during life, assist me at the hour of death, and lead me to a happy eternity.

Brief biography St. Anthony Mary Claret...

What has OLOE shared on St. Anthony Claret's feast?

“You are so consumed with trivial matters, little ones, when you should be consumed with God's Love. Have a desire and make every conscious effort to stay on the path which leads to Heaven…. Through prayer you will have an awareness of yourself and your relationship with God. There are many distractions in your daily lives that can demand your attention if you lose your focus on Jesus. You must have a desire to pray….” (OLOE Public 10-24-96)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg October 24, 1996...

“When I see the need for Divine teaching and how hungry people are to hear it, I am atremble to be off and running throughout the world, preaching the Word of God. I have no rest, my soul finds no relief, than to rush about and preach.” (St. Anthony Mary Claret, 1807-1868)

Prayer to Save America

During these critical times in U.S. history as well as in salvation history, the Foundation will be including this prayer on all e-newsletters.

O merciful God, we cry to Thee for pardon and for mercy.
We are an unbelieving and perverse generation.
We are disobedient, disloyal and ungrateful to Thee.
We have excluded Thee from our homes, our schools, our places of business.
We are no longer worthy to be called Thy children.
Merciful Father, spare America!
Forgive us!
Save us from the scourge we deserve.
Teach us Thy law, and move our wills to serve Thee today and everyday.
Merciful God, please spare America!
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Pray for us!
