The Devils Declare Open War Against

 Celibacy, Marriage and the Eucharist

“…Lucifer hates consecrated virginity and priestly celibacy because this charism and state of life is the one most intrinsically opposed to the pride that brought about his fall, his eternal loss of beatitude, his damnation….

This marriage of Christ and the Church has two special signs on earth that point to it: the sacrament of matrimony and the sacrament of the Eucharist. Therefore the devil attacks both of them.

He attacks marriage by undermining the goods of marriage: offspring (through contraception and abortion), fidelity (through fornication and adultery), and sacrament (through divorce and pastoral practices that countenance divorce).

He attacks the Holy Eucharist, which is the fleshly presence of the Savior and fully capable of satisfying our hunger for love in this life, by attacking the sacred liturgy, by tempting people to make it into an anthropocentric, horizontal self-celebration through which its very meaning is undermined, even if the sacrament may still have been effected….”

Preparing for the Coming Persecution by Fr. Joseph Esper

“…While we American Catholics more or less sympathize with our suffering brothers and sisters throughout the world,” says Esper, “we usually don’t give them too much thought — and we certainly don’t imagine that we ourselves may soon begin sharing their fate.

“However, there are ever-more numerous and ominous signs that elements of a religious persecution are coming to the United States….”

Our Lady of America

Where are the Bishops?

Our Lady called for all of us to exercise the virtue of purity, particularly within the family. She asked that a statue be created of her likeness under the title of Our Lady of America. Further, she asked that the Bishops of the United States solemnly process her statue into the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C. as she wishes to be honored there in a special way as Our Lady of America, the Immaculate Virgin.

Our Lady promised that  “if the Bishops did so, great graces would pour forth and that greater miracles than those granted at Lourdes and Fatima, miracles not of the body but of the soul, would be granted here in America, the United States in particular, if we would do as she desires. These graces would help bring about the era of peace that she promised at Fatima. However, failure to do so would lead us to terrible suffering and punishment for the world.”

Novena For Our Nation

The time is now to call upon God, through the powerful intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary, to heal our country and return it to holiness. This is a nationwide prayer campaign called the “Novena for Our Nation.” Everyone from around the nation is encouraged to join ranks as, united, we pray the very powerful 54 Day Rosary Novena from the Feast of the Assumption on August 15 to the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7. We continue to live in peace-less times with laws and court rulings in conflict with God's laws; especially the disregard for the rights of the unborn, elderly and weak in our society and the attacks on marriage and family values. Society and many levels of government continue to demonstrate intolerance towards biblically based religious belief and practice. In conflict with First Amendment constitutional rights, persecution of traditional religious expression has reached historically high levels. We are in a Spiritual Battle. In this centennial year of the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima, we are called upon to help turn our country back towards God. We will accomplish that through prayer; prayer that can change hearts, change families, change our communities and change our country. There is no stronger weapon in this Spiritual Battle than the Rosary!

Feast of St. Bartholomew - August 24
The Apostle

St. Bartholomew in Church history & Tradition...

What has OLOE said on the feast of St. Bartholomew?

“…Do to the lack of response from many people to love, pray and live in faith, these days are filled with confusion, anger, crime, pride, chaos and little love…. There are currently subtle (1995) evil forces in your midst which can only be recognized and fought victoriously through constant prayer, love and faith in God. The apostasy of the Church is at hand... for days ahead will become increasingly difficult. Only those who are steadfast in faith will be able to patiently endure the many hardships in the Peace of God's Love….”
(OLOE Public 08-24-95)

“If you insult God the Father through selfish uncharitable acts, your debt incurred will be great. My Son is the bridge of life to Heaven. His power gives you the virtues of fortitude, wisdom and Truth; and the Holy Spirit gives the love of virtue. Cross over the bridge to eternal life, little ones.”(OLOE Public 08-24-00)

21st Sunday in Ordinary Time—August 26, 2018

In John’s Gospel on this 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time, we hear Jesus ask the disciples:

“Do you also want to leave?”

This is a question which Our Lord has most likely been given reason to ask us many times or which we may have asked ourselves.  It takes a very valuable grace and virtue to respond courageously to this question.  Let us recall what Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Lessons to the world and Our Lady of Emmitsburg in her Messages have shared with us about that grace of perseverance:

Perseverance, Part III

Feast of St. Monica - August 27

Patroness of Married Women, Widows & Mothers

“Nothing is far from God.”
(St. Monica, 332-387 AD)

Daily Novena Prayer

Dear Saint Monica, once the sorrowing mother of a wayward son, be pleased to present our petition to the Lord God of heaven and earth. (Pause to mention intentions in silence.) Look down upon our anxieties and needs, and intercede for us, as you did so fervently for Augustine, your firstborn.

We have full confidence, that your prayers will gain favorable hearing in heaven. Mother of a sinner-turned saint; obtain for us patience, perseverance, and total trust in God's perfect timing. In His appointed hour, in His merciful way, may He respond to your prayer and ours, which we offer through you. Amen.

Parents' Prayer to Saint Monica

Saint Monica, patron of Christian parents, we entrust to your protection, the children whose names you can read in our hearts. Pray for them, that they may be granted strength to combat weakness, victory over temptation, guidance to resolve their doubts, and success in all their undertakings.

May they enjoy good health of mind and body, see beauty and worth in all created things, and serve the Lord with firm faith, joyful hope and enduring love. Amen.

Litany of the Three Patrons:
Our Lady of Consolation, St. Monica & St. Augustine...

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on St. Monica's feast?

“…If all humanity could only understand these words that my Son said, and that this is the way to change everything that is evil into good. But because there are so much emotion, vanity and other human elements involved, many people forget to look to the Truth of the Cross. They forget to surrender and abandon themselves to God, opening even their hearts that have been pierced by a sword to say, ‘Bless them Father, and forgive them, for they do not know what they do.' {Lk 23:34}…”  . (OLOE Private 08-27-05)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg August 27, 2005...

“Bury my body anywhere;
it does not matter.
Do not let that disturb you.
This only I ask –
that you remember me
at the altar of God
wherever you may be.”

(St. Monica to her son as she
lay dying far from home.)

Feast of St. Augustine of Hippo - August 28

Bishop, Doctor of the Church & Patron of Theologians

“You have made us for Yourself, O' Lord,
for you alone our God,
and our hearts are restless
until they rest in you.”

(St. Augustine, 354-430)

During the ongoing 9-day Novena to St. Augustine, let us join him as we reflect on “who we are” and “where we are going” in our own restless pursuit of Truth:

Litany to St. Augustine of Hippo...

Prayer written by St. Augustine:

“Lord Jesus, Let Me Know Myself
Lord Jesus, let me know myself and know Thee,
And desire nothing save only Thee.
Let me hate myself and love Thee.
Let me do everything for the sake of Thee.
Let me humble myself and exalt Thee.
Let me think of nothing except Thee.
Let me die to myself and live in Thee.
Let me accept whatever happens as from Thee.
Let me banish self and follow Thee,
And ever desire to follow Thee.
Let me fly from myself and take refuge in Thee,
That I may deserve to be defended by Thee.
Let me fear for myself, let me fear Thee,
And let me be among those who are chosen by Thee.
Let me distrust myself and put my trust in Thee.
Let me be willing to obey for the sake of Thee.
Let me cling to nothing save only to Thee,
And let me be poor because of Thee.
Look upon me, that I may love Thee.
Call me that I may see Thee, and forever enjoy Thee. Amen.

What has OLOE said on the feast of St. Augustine?

“…I have prayed so long for the children of the world. I have tremendous hope now, as I had yesterday and will have tomorrow. However, there are changes that have occurred, changes because of the free will of many people who have chosen not to receive the graces from God. If they would receive the grace from God and accept Him, so many things could still happen in the world for a most beautiful tomorrow. However, if people desire something other than His grace, if their momentary pleasures are only those of curiosity and self-seeking ways, then those beautiful things will be limited….” (OLOE Private 08-28-03)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg August 28, 2003...

“If you approach the Throne of God like a ‘little’ child, totally dependent and innocent, and desiring comfort from God, all that you give to God He will accept, even though He has no need. The true gift is that He gives to you. You could never love Him unless He granted you the gift. You could never love Him as He loves you now. The way of faith is what you must walk. Faith is not “faith” if everything is outlined for you. Faith is a gift, and in the mystery of faith is the totality of the whole Truth, leading to the mystery of the Cross and to union with the Divine Will.” (OLOE Private 08-28-04)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg August 28, 2004...

“If you believe what you like in the Gospel,
and reject what you don't like,
it is not the Gospel you believe
but yourself.”
(St. Augustine of Hippo)

Feast of the Martyrdom of John the Baptist

August 29

“I am baptizing you with water,
but one mightier than I is coming.
I am not worthy to loosen the thongs of His sandals.
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire….”

The Traditional 3-Part Prayer in Honor of St. John the Baptist...

Litany of St. John the Baptist...

What has OLOE said on the feast of St. John the Baptist?

“Little ones, do not hesitate for even one instant to unite yourself to the Divine Will of your Creator through the ‘fiat’ of my Son… Abandon yourself to His Will…. This is the way you will gain strength in your sufferings and also be inseparable from me and my Son. This is the way you are united to your Creator and receive joy….” (OLOE Public 08-29-96)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg August 29, 1996...

“It is so important in these times that you not look for praises, but that you look to continue without praises…. This is the problem today. Everyone lifts another person up in praise because they think it will motivate them to do something better or different. But when my Son is guiding you and because He is the Truth, there is no need for anything other than the filial confidence and filial grace from Heaven above, from the Father Who blesses each of you as His child.” (OLOE Private 08-29-06)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg August 29, 2006...

“Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
(St. John the Baptist, Mt 3:2)

Prayer to Save America

During these critical times in U.S. history as well as in salvation history, the Foundation will be including this prayer on all e-newsletters.

O merciful God, we cry to Thee for pardon and for mercy.
We are an unbelieving and perverse generation.
We are disobedient, disloyal and ungrateful to Thee.
We have excluded Thee from our homes, our schools, our places of business.
We are no longer worthy to be called Thy children.
Merciful Father, spare America!
Forgive us!
Save us from the scourge we deserve.
Teach us Thy law, and move our wills to serve Thee today and everyday.
Merciful God, please spare America!
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Pray for us!
