Novena For Our Nation

The time is now to call upon God, through the powerful intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary, to heal our country and return it to holiness. This is a nationwide prayer campaign called the “Novena for Our Nation.” Everyone from around the nation is encouraged to join ranks as, united, we pray the very powerful 54 Day Rosary Novena from the Feast of the Assumption on August 15 to the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7. We continue to live in peace-less times with laws and court rulings in conflict with God's laws; especially the disregard for the rights of the unborn, elderly and weak in our society and the attacks on marriage and family values. Society and many levels of government continue to demonstrate intolerance towards biblically based religious belief and practice. In conflict with First Amendment constitutional rights, persecution of traditional religious expression has reached historically high levels. We are in a Spiritual Battle. In this centennial year of the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima, we are called upon to help turn our country back towards God. We will accomplish that through prayer; prayer that can change hearts, change families, change our communities and change our country. There is no stronger weapon in this Spiritual Battle than the Rosary!

Feast of St. Clare of Assisi - August 11
Italian virgin, follower of St. Francis & foundress of a religious order

“I come O’ Lord, unto Thy sanctuary
to see the Life and Food of my soul.
As I hope in thee, O’ Lord,
inspire me with that confidence
which brings me to Thy holy mountain.
Permit me, Divine Jesus, to come closer to Thee,
that my whole soul may do homage
to the greatness of Thy majesty;
that my heart, with its tenderest affections,
may acknowledge Thine infinite Love;
that my memory may dwell on the admirable mysteries
here renewed every day,
and that the sacrifice of my whole being
may accompany Thine.”
(St. Clare 1193-1253)

Who is Clare of Assisi?...

Litany of St. Clare of Assisi...

What has Our Lord Himself said on St. Clare's great feast day?

“…My dear people, I tell you that those who are praised by man are not more holy than those who are not praised or who are disparaged. Holiness reflects interior purity. Any man can reflect an exterior goodness, but it is the interior purity I see to judge worthiness of My Holiness. Those who are more noticed by your human standards are not more noticed by Me! I notice the unnoticed and weigh the intentions of the heart. There is no superiority. Remember: the glory of man is not the glory of God. Those who seek My Kingdom and desire to live in My Holiness, I assist and notice….” (JOM, Vol I, #77, 08-11-89, Holiness)

I AM Your Jesus of Mercy:
August 11, 1989...

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on the feast of St. Clare?

“…God is good, and His act of redemptive Love for you has changed all of humanity, but especially those who feel downtrodden and weak, who feel of no value. He takes everyone’s prayers of hope for the new tomorrow, because He is a good and gracious God. His coming would have been even sooner; but because there are so many who continue to blaspheme Him, He allows them to live in their own ways…. He takes on the brunt of the wrongs of the so many people who continue to say very uncharitable and unkind words to Him. Because of their acts of hatred and lack of love towards one another, He allows them to remain in their own state. If people would not only thank Him more fervently and desire His Love, his Second Coming would have already happened, not His Final Coming, but His hidden intermediate coming….” (OLOE Public 05-30-96)

 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time—August 12, 2018

In today’s 2nd liturgical reading from St. Paul on this 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time, he instructs the Ephesians (and all humanity) on those sinful things to avoid and those behaviors to embrace in the pursuit of holiness:

“Brothers and sisters:
Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,
with which you were sealed for the day of redemption.
All bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling
must be removed from you, along with all malice.
And be kind to one another, compassionate,
forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.

So be imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love,
as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us
as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma.”

(2 Eph 4:30-5:2)

Let us recall what Our Lord Jesus Christ in His Lessons to the world and Our Lady of Emmitsburg in her Messages have shared with us concerning both sin and holiness and the journey from one to the other:

The Feast of St. Jean de Chantel – August 12
Wife, mother, widow, religious, foundress and
Spiritual directee of St. Francis de Sales

“When shall it be that we shall taste
the sweetness of the Divine Will in all that happens to us,
considering in everything only His good pleasure,
by whom it is certain that adversity is sent
with as much love as prosperity, and as much for our good?
When shall we cast ourselves undeservedly
into the arms of our most loving Father in Heaven,
leaving to Him the care of ourselves and of our affairs,
and reserving only the desire of pleasing Him,
and of serving Him well in all that we can?”
(St. Jean de Chantel, 1572-1641)

What do we know about St. Jane de Chantel?...

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on this great saint's feast day?

“Little ones, the world is in tremendous trouble! I have oftentimes told you of the urgency and the need for prayer, but currently your world is in tremendous trouble.... For this world is passing. It is better to prepare for the Kingdom of God in which you already live and which is available to all people, even though they may choose not to live within God’s world of Love. But prepare for this Kingdom coming, for the new Era of Peace. This Era of Peace is preceded by confusion and controversy, battles, pain and the other bowls of purification, which the Angel, whose sword I can no longer hold back, will release at God’s Command.... Those who choose not to walk with the Lord are those who risk their very souls... There could be no greater ‘sign’ than now. It is all around you; and yet, so many people do not see it as the ‘sign of the times.’ If they asked for and received a sign, they would not believe it, if they cannot even notice what is happening at this moment.... However, they will know the Truth of what they have missed....” (OLOE Private 08-12-06)

“…There is no time for doubt and no time for fear, but there is time for change. There is time for love, and no time for hate. There is time to give, but no time to be selfish. There is time to detach but no time to be enticed by the things of the world.... The entire world is in danger, not one country, nor two, nor three, but all continents. You are all family, and you are all about to be afflicted with pain, not from God because He desires it, but because of your poor choices and your own desires to do what you desire instead of what God desires for you.... Only He knows the time and the place. If but you as humble servants bow in gratefulness to Him, you can change the tide. The waves crashing in can be softened….” (OLOE Private 08-12-09)

“If we patiently accept through love all that God allows to happen,
then we will begin to taste even here on earth
something of the delights the saints experience in Heaven.
But for this we must serve God willingly and lovingly,
seeking to obey the Divine Will
rather than to follow our own inclinations and desires.
For the perfection of love demands
that we desire for ourselves only whatever God wills.
Let us implore the good God unceasingly to grant us this grace!”
(St. Jane Frances de Chantal, 1

Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe - August 14
Polish Franciscan priest, martyr, founder of Immaculata Movement

“A soul consecrated to the Immaculate must follow the inspirations of the heart with complete liberty and approach the tabernacle, the cross, the Holy Trinity with much more courage, because that soul does not approach alone, but together with the Heavenly Mother, the Immaculate. Therefore, a soul consecrated to the Immaculate needs to pray the ejaculatory prayers and other prayers with great liberty, as the wings of the Love of God guide it, where the Holy Spirit inspires it, shattering all barriers.”   (cf. SK #130, St. Maximilian Kolbe, 1891-1941)

Consecration Prayer of the Militia Immaculata by

 St. Maximilian

O Immaculata, Queen of Heaven and earth, refuge of sinners and our most loving Mother, God has willed to entrust the entire order of mercy to thee. I, ____ , repentant sinner, cast myself at thy feet humbly imploring thee to take me with all that I am and have, wholly to thyself as thy possession and property. Please make of me, of all my powers of soul and body, of my whole life, death and eternity, whatever most pleases thee. It if pleases thee, use all that I am and have without reserve, wholly to accomplish what was said of the: “She will crush your head,” and, “Thou alone have destroyed all heresies in the world.”

Let me be a fit instrument in thy Immaculate and merciful hands for introducing and increasing the maximum in all the many strayed and indifferent souls, and thus help extend as far as possible the blessed Kingdom of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. For wherever thou enter, one obtains the grace of conversion and growth in holiness, since it is through thy hands that all graces come to us from the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

V. Allow me to praise the O Sacred Virgin. R. Give me strength against thy enemies.

(If the above steps are followed: consciously renouncing all sin - even venial, Confession, Mass and the Eucharist, six Our Fathers & Hail Mary's & Glory Be's for the intentions of the Pope, a Plenary Indulgence is received. Then, piously wear the Miraculous Medal and ask for the intercession of St. Maximilian to help you become a good child of Mary.)

What has OLOE said on the feast of Franciscan son,

St. Maximilian?

“…I am proud that you would take a risk at all costs for the Truth and for the survival and well-being of the poor…. There are few people who will stand up to be that pillar of light…. They are not afraid to speak the Truth, and they will fight those who desire to go against the Will of God. This is a perfect example about what I have spoken and how I have trained you to be the army, the army for God, my ambassadors of Light and those who shall carry my shield….” (OLOE Public 08-14-08)

“…As a humble servant in love with my God, my Son and your Savior, I desire and invite all peoples to know Him, to follow and love Him, to be safe and to be free. There are many difficulties in life, especially today, as the world has become more secular than ever before in a way where God is not a part of life’s equation. Therefore, very few truly are enthralled by the Love of God and His Grace, and in obedience simply desire what He wills….” (OLOE Private 08-14-08)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg August 14, 2008...

“No one in the world can change Truth. What we can do and should do is to seek truth and to serve it when we have found it. The real conflict is the inner conflict. Beyond armies of occupation and the hecatombs of extermination camps, there are two irreconcilable enemies in the depth of every soul: good and evil, sin and love. And what use are the victories on the battlefield if we ourselves are defeated in our innermost personal selves?”  (St. Maximilian Kolbe)

The Vigil of the Feast of the Assumption of Mary

August 14

August 14th through August 22nd: Join us as we begin a 9-day Novena to Our Lady of the Assumption this evening, through the Feast of the Queenship of Mary.Let us pray that the Church and the world be open to her plan as God the Father has allowed it to unfold as we approach this “End of this Era.”

Novena to Our Lady of the Assumption...

What has OLOE said on the vigil of this glorious feast day?

"When you love as much as you can what God desires for you, and when you love as much as you can, desiring to be with Him, you are caught up in a moment, a timeless moment of rapture, soothing to the soul, rewarding, refreshing, giving you new life and giving you strength and grace." (OLOE Private 08-14-08)

The Feast of the Assumption, Aug. 15, 2018

In today’s Gospel from St. Luke on this Feast of the Assumption, we hear Elizabeth proclaim to Mary a profound Truth that we all need to know and understand but are so often deterred by fear to embrace:

Blessed are you who believed
that what was spoken to you by the Lord
would be fulfilled….”

(Lk 1:56)

Does anyone else believe it?

“Why Prepare?  The Promises!”

Abraham also believed what he was promised, and so too have we been challenged to believe what Our Lord and Our Lady have promised us:

“…He (Abraham) believed, hoping against hope, that he would become “the father of many nations,” according to what was said, “Thus shall your descendants be.” 19 He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body as [already] dead (for he was almost a hundred years old) and the dead womb of Sarah. 20 He did not doubt God’s promise in unbelief; rather, he was empowered by faith and gave glory to God 21 and was fully convinced that what he had promised he was also able to do….But it was not for him alone that it was written,…it was also for us….”  (Rom 4: 18-24)

Feast of the Assumption of the BVM - August 15
Homily of Pope John Paul II
Feast of the Assumption, August 15, 1997

"In her, assumed into heaven, we are shown the eternal destiny that awaits us beyond the mystery of death: a destiny of total happiness in divine glory.... From her birth to her glorious Assumption, her life unfolded on a journey of faith, hope and charity.... These are virtues which the lord asks of all believers, if they are to share in His Mother's glory." (Pope John Paul II Homily, Feast of the Assumption, 08-15-97)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg on the Feast of the Assumption:

"We know that with time many things will unfold. Those things may not be so glorious for humanity, but perhaps may be more frightful and definitive. With this there will be consequences for those who have refused to follow the Word and for those who have also refused to receive His graces. Humanity cannot stand without God. They are nothing and will cease to be. But with God, all things are possible." (OLOE Private 08-15-03)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg August 15, 2003...

“…But what happened? I died in sleep only to gain a glorious crown like my son, so that all of you could join me to be free and happy, never to worry, and always protected…. Only God can give Justice; and I, through Him, give the fiber of Mercy…. A wondrous day indeed for those who see that respect for life is essential! Whatever the expressions of negative or positive, joy should be central; for every living creature is important. Those who have endured tremendous sorrow and pain that only God knows, they are the ones that will truly know a new day. Whether it be today or at some timeless endpoint, for them it doesn't matter, because they are caught up in the first and foremost way, the rapture of Love….” (OLOE Private 08-15-08)

“…I have been here coming in this country for many years. I have invited all to come to my most Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. I have told you and warned you of many things to come, ant it seems to me that you have passed them off. If there is a natural catastrophe, if there is economic collapse, if there is death or serious illness, or if there is dangerous spirituality, you seem to forget all of what I have said. Yet, you continue to pray and pray and pray for the same things. Do you not know that God knows what you are praying for, even before you ask? Do you not know how many graces you could receive in healings and blessings? If my army would only rally up and speak as a loud voice to the Church to allow me to be here in a special way!...” (OLOE Private 08-15-09)

Assumption Homily by Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J.

“…Mary's Assumption is a call to penance. Pope Pius XII expressed the hope that this new honor to Mary would introduce ‘a spirit of penance to replace the prevalent love of pleasure, and a renewal of family life, stabilize where divorce was common, and made fruitful where birth control was practiced.” (Fr. John Hardin, S.J.)

Prayer to Save America

During these critical times in U.S. history as well as in salvation history, the Foundation will be including this prayer on all e-newsletters.

O merciful God, we cry to Thee for pardon and for mercy.
We are an unbelieving and perverse generation.
We are disobedient, disloyal and ungrateful to Thee.
We have excluded Thee from our homes, our schools, our places of business.
We are no longer worthy to be called Thy children.
Merciful Father, spare America!
Forgive us!
Save us from the scourge we deserve.
Teach us Thy law, and move our wills to serve Thee today and everyday.
Merciful God, please spare America!
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Pray for us!
