What Makes Conversion So Difficult?

Cardinal Gerhard Müller is the former prefect of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith and the former bishop of Regensburg, Germany. A noted professor of theology, he is president of both the Pontifical Biblical Commission and the International Theological Commission. He is also the author of many books, including The Hope of the FamilyPriesthood and Diaconate, and The Cardinal Müller Report:An Exclusive Interview on the State of the Church.

In this article he points out the many ways in which we are seeing humanity’s conversion to the world instead of to God, and he explores many ways in which the groundwork has been set for that false conversion:

Conversion to The World Instead of God…

With Log in Eye

“…How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye….”  (Lk 6:42)

How Can You Say to Your Brother…

Let us pray for our shepherds!

Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great

Eternal Father,
I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said throughout the world today,
for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the Universal Church,
those in my own home and within my family.
Amen.

(Our Lord told St. Gertrude the Great that the above prayer would release 1,000 souls from Purgatory each time it is said. The prayer was extended to include living sinners which would alleviate the indebtedness accrued to them during their lives.)

Prayer for the Protection of Religious Liberty

Through the power and working of your Holy Spirit, you call us to live our faith in the midst of the world, bringing the Light and the saving Truth of the Gospel to every corner of society.

We ask you to bless us in our vigilance for the gift of religious liberty, Give us the strength of mind and heart to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened; give us courage in making our voices heard on behalf of the rights of your Church and the freedom of conscience of all people of faith.

Grant, we pray, O heavenly Father, a clear and united voice to all your sons and daughters gathered in your Church in this decisive hour in the history of our nation, so that, with every trial withstood and every danger overcome for the sake of our children, our grandchildren, and all who come after us, this great land will always be one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

We ask his through Christ our Lord. Amen

Feast of St. Maria Goretti - July 6
20th Century Italian Virgin Youth and Martyr (1890-1902)

What We Can Learn Today From St. Maria Goretti’s Life?

A Story of Great Mercy…

Official Prayer to St. Maria Goretti

Oh Saint Maria Goretti, who, strengthened by God's grace, did not hesitate even at the age of twelve to shed your blood and sacrifice life itself to defend your virginal purity, look graciously on the unhappy human race which has strayed far from the path of eternal salvation. Teach us all, and especially youth, with what courage and promptitude we should flee for the love of Jesus anything that could offend Him or stain our souls with sin. Obtain for us from our Lord victory in temptation, comfort in the sorrows of life, and the grace which we earnestly beg of thee (here insert intention), and may we one day enjoy with thee the imperishable glory of Heaven.

(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father, etc.)
St. Maria Goretti, pray for us! Amen.

St. Maria Goretti Novena Prayer

Child of God,
You who at an early age
knew life’s harshness and toil,
its sorrows and brief joys;
You who were poor, an orphan,
who loved your neighbor tirelessly,
making yourself a humble and attentive servant;
You who were kind and good, without pride,
who loved Love above all else;
You who shed your blood
so as not to betray the Lord;
You who forgave your assassin
wishing him in Paradise;
so that we may consent to his holy will for us.
You who are God’s friend and see him face to face
obtain the grace we are seeking from you?
Amen.

What has OLOE said on the feast of St. Maria Goretti?

“…Many people will believe what they choose to believe, but Jesus will never abandon them. I will never mislead anyone. I will always direct them to my Son. I do not mind when people say things that are not true against me, because I am only a servant of God. I will do whatever He asks of me; and I will always pray for others and invite them, lead them and encourage them to follow my Son, and to know that I speak His words because of the Covenant of Our Two Hearts…”   (OLOE Private 07-06-06)

Words of God the Father—July 8, 2006

It was 12 years ago today that God the Father reaffirmed to all humanity that changing times, changing perceptions of sin and repentance, changing opinions about the very existence or need for God do not change the Word of God and its Eternal Truth:

“… My sweet beloved Mary, a humble servant and spouse to the Holy Spirit, continues to hold back the sword of the Angel, preventing it from striking and revealing the bowls of purification.  However, even my sweet Mary could not do this unless I allowed her, for I have been a patient and loving God.  But now, without revealing a time or a date or a place, I will forewarn humanity to take a cautious look at your very selves. Tell me, "What have you done to desecrate My Sanctuary?"  And, "What have you done to repent, as you continue to ignore My Words, the Words of my Blessed Son and those of My dearly beloved Mary?  As you continue to ignore them, you continue to entice yourselves and become blind to the Truth….

Foolishness arises when people try to change the Truth.  It only reflects selfishness, lack of knowledge, lack of humility and lack of respect for the Truth….

You cannot change the Word of God!  Just because the times change, you cannot change the Word of God.  You do not even pay attention to the "signs of the times"; so how can you claim to change the Word based on what you believe to be a change in the times?

…No one knows how long I will allow my beloved Mary to continue to hold back the sword of the Angel.  Her pleading on your behalf is nearing its end; and when that time comes, you best be prepared….”

Daily Consecration to the Eternal Father

For the greater glory of God and for the salvation of all, I consecrate myself to You, O' Eternal Father, as one of Your faithful remnant. Behold, I come to do Your Will. With the help of Your Grace, I will keep Your Commandments. I will love and reverence You with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. I will love my neighbor as You love me.

I make this Consecration through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Your beloved Son, Jesus.

O' Eternal Father, send forth Your Holy Spirit to restore my/our broken image and likeness of You. Send forth also Your entire Heavenly Court, all the celestial choirs of Your angels and all Your Saints, to aid me/us in my/our struggle against all the forces of evil in this present darkness. Amen.   (Adapted from the Father of All Mankind Apostolate)

Novena of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel

July 8-16, 2017

On July 16th, the Church celebrates The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. In Fatima on October 13, 1917, Our Lady appeared to the three children in the sky as Our Lady of Mount Carmel, holding the Child Jesus and the Brown Scapular. Let us celebrate this feast with the Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel and by refreshing our minds and hearts on the significance of the Brown Scapular. Join us in this 9 day novena to Our Lady beginning today, July 8, and ending on her Feast day, July 16, as we ask for her protection and guidance on our journey into these troubled times, the end of an era:

The 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time - July 8, 2018

In Mark’s Gospel on this 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time we read:

“Jesus departed from there and came to his native place, accompanied y His disciples.  When the sabbath came He began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard Him were astonished.  They said, ‘Where did this man get all this?  What kind of Wisdom has been given Him?’....”  (Mk 6:1-3)

Let us recall what Our Lord Himself  in His Lessons to the world as well as Our Lady of Emmitsburg in her Messages have said through Gianna Sullivan, in addition to what is found in Sacred Scripture regarding the Wisdom of God, the Wisdom of Jesus:

Wisdom, Part 1, the Wisdom of Jesus…

Feast of St. Benedict - July 11

5th Century Italian Priest and Abbott, Patriarch of Western Monasticism
(480-543)

As a youth he left home to live a hermit’s life of penance and prayer near Rome in Subiaco. As others became aware of his sanctity, he gathered large numbers of followers around him. His Rule became the foundation for religious life for all the Western religious orders and congregations after his time, showing the way to religious perfection through mortification, humility, prayer and silence.

The Medal of St. Benedict
Its origin, description, power and approved blessing...

Approved Blessing of the Medal of St. Benedict

Medals of Saint Benedict are sacramentals that may be blessed legitimately by any priest or deacon -- not necessarily a Benedictine (Instr., 26 Sept. 1964; Can. 1168). The following English form may be used.

V. Our help is in the name of the Lord.
R. Who made heaven and earth.

In the name of God the Father + almighty, who made heaven and earth, the seas and all that is in them, I exorcise these medals against the power and attacks of the evil one. May all who use these medals devoutly be blessed with health of soul and body. In the name of the Father + almighty, of the Son + Jesus Christ our Lord, and of the Holy + Spirit the Paraclete, and in the love of the same Lord Jesus Christ who will come on the last day to judge the living and the dead, and the world by fire.
Amen.

Let us pray. Almighty God, the boundless source of all good things, we humbly ask that, through the intercession of Saint Benedict, you pour out your blessings+ upon these medals. May those who use them devoutly and earnestly strive to perform good works be blessed by you with health of soul and body, the grace of a holy life, and remission of the temporal punishment due to sin.

May they also with the help of your merciful love, resist the temptation of the evil one and strive to exercise true charity and justice toward all, so that one day they may appear sinless and holy in your sight. This we ask though Christ our Lord.  Amen.  (The medals are then sprinkled with holy water.)

What has Our Lord Himself said on this great St. Benedict's feast day?

“…Salvation came to the world because I carried the Cross and suffered for mankind. Those who desire My glory can only be glorified in Me through their suffering and cross. Rejoicing should be exclaimed for those who suffer, for they have been found worthy by God to suffer like unto Me.... It is in the moments you feel abandoned and all alone that you can be sure that your suffering has not gone unnoticed, but that it is redemptive….”(JOM, Vol III, #9, 07-11-90, Redemptive Suffering)

I AM Your Jesus of Mercy:
REDEMPTIVE SUFFERING
July 11, 1990...

What has OLOE said on this great St. Benedict's feast day?

“…How much longer do you think terrible abominations against God can continue before destruction of your world happens through human hands? ...Time is no longer on your side. Take every opportunity each day to become selfless and to follow Jesus through Love & Mercy…. Please listen to my plea and return to God.” (OLOE Public 07-11-96)

“Little ones, do not fear. Keep your wits about you. Please, trust in God’s Love, remain focused on Him, and know that evil shall be slain. I want you to continue to read and reread my messages so that you do not fear whether this is all from God. He allows everything so that all will be purified and glorified in His Holy Name…. This is a great battle indeed!...” (OLOE Private 07-11-03)

Prayer to Save America

During these critical times in U.S. history as well as in salvation history, the Foundation will be including this prayer on all e-newsletters.

O merciful God, we cry to Thee for pardon and for mercy.
We are an unbelieving and perverse generation.
We are disobedient, disloyal and ungrateful to Thee.
We have excluded Thee from our homes, our schools, our places of business.
We are no longer worthy to be called Thy children.
Merciful Father, spare America!
Forgive us!
Save us from the scourge we deserve.
Teach us Thy law, and move our wills to serve Thee today and everyday.
Merciful God, please spare America!
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Pray for us!

DAILY OFFERING PRAYER - O Jesus, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world.
