June 2018

The Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Traditionally in the Church, the month of June has been designated as a month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. However, private revelation has added to this celebration a triduum of feasts - the Sacred Heart of the Father, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. And some may ask: Where does the devotion to the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary come from? So together, let us explore this packed week of solemn and holy devotions...

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus...

Novena Prayer to St. Anthony of Padua—June 13-21

O’ Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and charity for His creatures made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your words, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me (mention personal request). The answer to my prayer may require a miracle. Even so, you are the Saint of Miracles.

O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms, and the gratitude of my heart will ever by yours. Amen. (Our Father..., Hail Mary..., and Glory be...)

The Prayer or Blessing Against Storms

Throughout the world nature’s wrath is being felt from almost every type of natural disaster, and a loving, permissive God is allowing this. Why? Maybe if all the world prayed this powerful Prayer Against Storms, which is attributed to St. Anthony of Padua, God would tame the wrath of nature:

The Prayer or Blessing Against Storms...

Novena to St. John the Baptist—June 16-24 (his birth)

There are but 3 births celebrated on the liturgical calendar in the Catholic Church:

Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary

& St. John the Baptist

11th Sunday in Ordinary Time—June 17, 2018

Today’s Gospel from St. Mark on this 11th Sunday in Ordinary time begins with:

“…Jesus said to the crowds:

‘This is how it is with the Kingdom of God’….”

(Mk 4:26)

How is it with the Kingdom of God?  It would not be politically correct in many circles to even ponder this question!  Why is this?  Could it be that there is such a vast and extensive  ignorance and fear of the future?

Let us recall what God the Father in His Words to the world, Our Lord Jesus Christ in His Lessons & Our Lady of Emmitsburg in her Messages have said to the world about this “fear of the future.”  Could the answer be found in the question, “How is it with the Kingdom of God?”:

Fear 8, Fear of the Future

Father's Day - June 17, 2018

Father's Day was initially founded in Spokane Washington, USA, by Sonora Smart Dodd, in honor of her father who was a civil war veteran and who as a single parent had reared his 6 children. The celebration first drew national recognition by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916 and by President Calvin Coolidge in 1924; but it was not until 1966 that President Lyndon Johnson issued a presidential proclamation honoring fathers on the third Sunday in June as Father's Day, and this was signed into law in 1972 by President Richard Nixon. Many countries celebrate and International Men's Day on November 19 for men who are fathers.

In His Words to the world our Heavenly Father delivers His own Father's Day message:

“As the God of your fathers and forefathers, I am your God of Light, always there to be by you, to protect you and to intervene. I am a good, loving Father; and yet, so many are afraid to come to Me. Please, children, in all My messages to you, whether they be warnings or challenges, I am still a compassionate Father, full of Mercy and Love. Look to Me, and change your ways. What ‘father' would deny a son or a daughter for straying from the Truth? ...A great new beginning awaits you, and one where I will be with you…. You are never alone, in all that you do and in all that you say. In everything that you are, I am!...” (GTF 06-08-08)

Words of God the Father June 8, 2008...

We have made an effort to honor our earthly fathers, and this is rightly so; but it seems that humanity has all but ignored our Heavenly Father. On June 21, 2009, in His Words of God the Father given to the world, our Heavenly Father spoke:

“…Know this: As God, your Father, I bless you; but with all the blessings I give to you in your life, what do you do with them? ...All things come from My Hands. What I will is dispensed…. What is it you truly desire?... You misuse and abuse all that is given…. Who is the Giver? We all know who the receivers are. But who truly gives back to Me? ...O' foolish nation, one that I gave to and created for good! Look what free will has done…. Few shall live, many will die…. O' children of humanity, you have a choice…. It is worse than in the days of Noah….” (GTF, Father's Day, 06-21-09)

A Father’s Prayer for His Wife and Children:

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the gift of my family, for whom I now pray and upon whom I now ask you to shower your blessings. With Saint Joseph as my guide, may I always be ready to spend my life for them.

Bless my wife whom you have given to me as my spouse, sharing in your wondrous work of creation. May I see her as my equal and treat her with the love of Christ for his Church. May Mary be her guide and help her to find your peace and your grace.

Bless my children with your life and presence. May the example of your Son be the foundation upon which their lives are built, that the Gospel may always be their hope and support.

I ask you, Father, to protect and bless my family. Watch over it so that in the strength of your love its members may enjoy prosperity, possess the gift of your peace and, as the Church alive in this home, always bear witness to your glory in the world.

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said previous Fathers' Days?

“The family is so important, especially families who pray and join together in Love. This is a special day also for me and my beloved St. Joseph, such a just man, who stayed by my side in the midst of all the turmoil that he knew I would endure. How he trusted God in faith!” (OLOE Private 06-18-06)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg June 18, 2006...

“What is important this evening is that the family unit is “holy,” and more attention must be given to the unit itself: the father, the mother and the children. Prayer must be essential. Yes, there are good times with much happiness, and there are troubled times, even with tribulations, frustrations, challenges and sorrow; but the family unit will live, if you desire it…. Make family prayer a priority; and if your children cannot pray with you, then pray for them!... Use this time very wisely and pray together, husband and wife. There you are safe, not only within my Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, but deeply imbedded within the Triune God….” (OLOE Private 06-14-08)

Litany of Divine Providence...

The Lord's Prayer

How many of us have said the “Our Father” with so little thought, so little reverence, and so little fruitfulness? However, when we are open to the Holy Spirit within us and pray from the heart, look at what can happen:"

Our Father, (“Our” Father—not “My” Father - all of God’s children of all races, all colors & all creeds)

Our Father, (Abba, “Daddy” God)

Who art in Heaven, (and Who art in me)

Hallowed be Thy Name. (Holy be Thy Name, praised be Thy Name, thanks be to Thy Most Holy Name)

Thy Kingdom come. (now - on earth and in me)

Thy Will be done, (now - on earth and in me)

on earth as it is in Heaven. (at the Throne of God, with the Trinity, Our Lady and all the Angels and Saints)

Give us this day our daily bread. (the Bread of your Divine Will, the Bread of Life in the Eucharist, and the bread we need to eat to sustain our bodies)

And forgive us our trespasses(forgive us our sins, our imperfections and our hesitancies in the face of temptation)

As we forgive those (or as we choose not to forgive those) who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,(for we are weak, we are worthless, we are wretched & we are nothing)

But deliver us from evil.(for it is only through your grace, not by our works alone not our merit that we can escape eternal damnation)

Amen. (So I hope. So be it).

Feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga - June 21

Italian Jesuit religious and Patron of Catholic Youth & Teenagers

“There is no more evident sign
that anyone is a saint
and of the number of the elect,
than to see him leading a good life
and at the same time a prey
to desolations, suffering and trials.”
(St. Aloysius Gonzaga, 1568-1591)

Brief biography of St. Aloysius of Gonzaga

What has OLOE said on the feast of this Jesuit youth, Aloysius?

“…Too often many people seek other signs and want consolations and comfort. What you have is something great, perhaps even abused, in that you do not even realize the tremendous joy that has been offered to you from Heaven, the protection, the blessings, the graces, the gift to persevere, the courage to move on, and the Seal of Love from Heaven above. At some time in your lives, each one of you will see what has been given to you, what you have, what you have missed, what you could have obtained, and the challenge of what you can continue to grasp and receive in the future….”
(OLOE Private 06-21-05)

Special Prayer of Trust to the BVM by St. Aloysius Gonzaga...

A Prayer to be Said by Young Men
St. Aloysius Gonzaga

O’ most glorious St. Aloysius, who has been honored by the Church with the fair title of “angelic youth,” because of the love of utmost purity thou didst lead here on earth, I come before thy presence this day with all the devotion of my mind and heart. O’ perfect exemplar, kind and powerful patron of young men, how great is my need of thee! The world and the devil are trying to ensnare me; I am conscious of that ardor of my passions; I know full well the weakness and inconstancy of my age. Who shall be able to keep me safe, if not thou, O’ saint of angelic purity, the glory and honor, the loving protector of youth? To thee, therefore, I have recourse with all my soul; to thee I commit myself with all my heart. I thereby resolve, promise, and desire to be especially devout toward thee, to glorify thee by imitating thy extraordinary virtues, and in particular they angelic purity, to copy they example, and to promote devotion to thee among my companions. O’ dear St. Aloysius, do thou guard and defend me always, in order that, under thy protection and following thy example, I may one day be able to join with thee in seeing and praising my God forever in heaven. Amen.

Prayer to Save America

During these critical times in U.S. history as well as in salvation history, the Foundation will be including this prayer on all e-newsletters.

O merciful God, we cry to Thee for pardon and for mercy.
We are an unbelieving and perverse generation.
We are disobedient, disloyal and ungrateful to Thee.
We have excluded Thee from our homes, our schools, our places of business.
We are no longer worthy to be called Thy children.
Merciful Father, spare America!
Forgive us!
Save us from the scourge we deserve.
Teach us Thy law, and move our wills to serve Thee today and everyday.
Merciful God, please spare America!
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Pray for us!
