60-year Anniversary Celebration as a Vincentian Priest

June 3, 2018

Fr. Al Pehrsson, C.M., Parish Priest

Our Lady of Emmitsburg—His Personal Testimony

A more humble and holy priest would be hard to find than Fr. Al Pehrsson, CM. Fr. Pehrsson was the parish priest and pastor at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Emmitsburg, Maryland, during the first 3 years of Gianna Sullivan's mystical experiences there. In 2006 he gave an inspirational and courageous testimony to the authenticity of these events and summarized their fruits from 1993-2006. If you have already listened to this before, you will be amazed to hear it again. If you have never read this profound statement, you are in for a treat!

      Enjoy his personal testimony….

Why the Eucharistic Processions?

In her diary, Sr. Faustina wrote, “Once, the image was being exhibited over the altar during the Corpus Christi procession [June 20, 1935]. When the priest exposed the Blessed Sacrament, and the choir began to sing, the rays from the image pierced the Sacred Host and spread out all over the world [441].”

June 2018

The Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Traditionally in the Church, the month of June has been designated as a month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. However, private revelation has added to this celebration a triduum of feasts - the Sacred Heart of the Father, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. And some may ask: Where does the devotion to the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary come from? So together, let us explore this packed week of solemn and holy devotions...

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus...

Feast of the Visitation of Our Lady - May 31, 2018

Our Lady had recently been invited to bear the Son of God through the message of an angel of God. She had endured Joseph’s suspicions and disappointments in silence. Most likely she was the topic of gossip and disconcerting glances in her village at Nazareth. She now was going to visit her cousin and share with her all the fears and excitement she carried in her heart as well as her God Whom she carried in her womb. On this Feast of the Visitation, Our Lord Himself in His Lessons to the world through Gianna gave us some advice that He very well could have given to His Mother on her way to visit Elizabeth:

“There is a purpose, Mine and the One Who sent Me, for everything! Take one day at a time. Be patient, be loving, be open-hearted to accept My graces, and pray. Pray for My strength to endure. Pray for true, holy preparation. There is no need to know how you can prepare. If you pray, as I have mentioned, all shall be given to you in accordance with Our wishes, and the Holy Spirit shall guide you!...”                                   (JOM, Vol I, #54, 05-31-89, Patience)

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg shared on this Feast of the Visitation?

In 2005, She likened her visit with Elizabeth to her visitation to the world now!

"Little ones, what does it mean, the Visitation? What does it mean when the Mother of God comes before you? ...So now, here too I am with you, visiting you; and you exclaim, ‘How is it that our Mother should come to us?’ And how is it that so many people do not see that the Mother of their Lord is among them?...

“…I am but a lowly servant, but blessed be His Most Holy Name…. I desire to tell you so many things, but I hold them back in my most Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. For if I was to mention any future change, my fear is that you might perceive it incorrectly. It is best that you go without knowing, so that you can trust more fully. The more that you trust, as I trusted, the more you are encompassed by the rays of the Holy Trinity, as if in a blanket of Love. This blanket of Love can only protect you so that you are able to fulfill His Most Divine Plan and so that your works will give glory only to Him….”                   (OLOE Private 05-31-05)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg May 31, 2005...

“…It will be like the Visitation when I went before Elizabeth and the child leapt with Joy in her womb. Your hearts too will leap with Joy, for you will be co-redemptorists in Christ; and all the world will remember you for not being afraid and for standing for the Truth….” (OLOE Private 05-31-09)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg May 31, 2009...

Ponder the Pope John Paul II Vatican Address given May 31, 1998 on the Virgin Mary's visitation:

"Today more than ever, Mary appears to us as a figure and model of the Church who, sustained by the Spirit, brings Christ the Savior to the world. The biblical readings for the feast of the Visitation present the Blessed Virgin, who, bearing in her womb the Son of God newly conceived by the power of the Most High, goes to help her elderly cousin Elizabeth. She is the Ark of the New Covenant, who bears within herself the fulfillment of the messianic promises. The meeting between the two women and their unborn children takes place in the joy inspired by the Holy Spirit and culminates in the Magnificat, the song of hope for those who believe in fulfillment of the Lord’s words." (Pope John Paul II, Vatican Gardens, May 31, 1998)

Feast of St. Justin Martyr - June 1

2nd Century Palestinian convert, apologist and martyr

St. Justin, martyred for the faith, was one of the most important 2nd century apologists, writing two apologies in defense of the Christian religion, the most noted being The Dialogue with Trypho, a man of Jewish origin, where Justin mentions the “era of peace.” Justin states to Trypho:

"But I and every other orthodox Christian feel certain that there will be a resurrection of the flesh followed by a thousand years (symbolic) in the rebuilt, embellished, and enlarged city of Jerusalem, as was announced by the prophets Ezekiel, Isaiah and others." (Martyr, Dialogue with Trypho, pp. 277-278; Iannuzzi, The Splendor of Creation, pp. 36-37)

“Born Again” - St. Justin Martyr

“As many as are persuaded and believe that what we teach and say is true, and undertake to be able to live accordingly, are instructed to pray and to entreat God with fasting, for the remission of their sins that are past, we praying and fasting with them. Then they are brought by us where there is water, and are regenerated in the same manner in which we were ourselves regenerated. For, in the name of God, the Father and Lord of the universe, and of our Savior Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Spirit, they then receive the washing with water. For Christ also said, ‘Except ye be born again, ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.’” (St. Justin Martyr, First Apologia, 151 A. D)

Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) – June 3, 2018

“…How much more will the Blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to worship the living God!”  (Heb 9:13-15)

And Who better to draw from in regards to this act of adoration than Our Lord Jesus Christ in His LessonsOur Lady of Emmitsburg in her Messages, the Saints of the Church and its Catechism? in his Letter to the Hebrews contrasts the sacrifice of the old covenant with the most perfect Sacrifice of the New Covenant and exclaims:

Adoration of the Eucharist...

Early in the course of Gianna's mystical events, Our Lord Himself spoke to her at the time she received Holy Communion during the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass:

"My dear one, I am now within you! It is in the Eucharist that I am consecrated to you and you to Me. Many of My people do not realize what it means to receive My Body. My people do not realize the power they receive when they receive the Eucharist. It is My power - the Power of Christ!" (JOM, Vol I, #3, 11-05-88, Eucharist)

I AM Your Jesus of Mercy:
November 5, 1988...

Our Lord in His Lessons also expresses one of His continuing sorrows:

"My sorrow is in viewing the many who do not wish to receive My Body and Blood. If there was only one priest who performed the consecration of My Eucharist in only one sanctuary, people would flock to receive Me. They would want to see the Divine Mysteries. But there are many priests who have the power of My Mystery; and yet, there are so few who receive it with an open heart.... If you do not wish My Love and gifts, your hearts will freeze and your souls die! ...Come to Me and receive My Mercy, the gift of your redemption which awaits to be claimed." (JOM, Vol II, #19, 11-07-89, Sorrow)

I AM Your Jesus of Mercy:
November 7, 1989...

Throughout history many wars have been waged over religious beliefs and religious intolerance, however Our Lord in His Lessons addresses this in the context of the Eucharist:

"...People worship in My churches and claim their form of worship is the truest. Woe to those who disclaim a form of prayer to My Father! ...I, your Lord God, love all who come to Me to be loved! I love in all forms of worship and prayer. It is true that I, through My Body in Eucharist, am in the purest form of consecration to you. However, that is a choice My children have. Many people will say that because of your religion, you think you are closer to Me. It is not because of your religion, My Child; it is because of your open, loving heart...." (JOM, Vol I, #7, 11-09-88, Religions)

I AM Your Jesus of Mercy:
November 9, 1988...

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said of the Body and Blood of her Son?

“…The world is one in turmoil. This world is one in which many have drifted, and many do not know which way to turn…. Regardless of religion, they shall come forth; and they shall know the Truth. They shall know that through the sacrificial suffering of my Son and through the Truth that lies within His Precious Body and Blood are revealed not only His Life, but also His ultimate Death which gave Life to everyone….” (OLOE Private 04-12-03)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg April 12, 2003...

“…Tribulation and turmoil continue to exist because of the free will of people and the division among even those who are Christian. The ultimate security, the prophetic message and the Truth rest in what this feast day celebrates, namely the Body and Blood of my Son which I witnessed Him give to you….” (OLOE Private 08-25-03)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg August 25, 2003...

“…The entire understanding of the Eucharistic Reign of my Son lies in these few words, ‘The Word was made Flesh.’ There you will find at the Center of my Immaculate Heart the entire key to the mystery of the Eucharistic Reign: ‘The Word was made Flesh.’ ...My Son gave His Life and allowed, through the hands of the priests, the mystery of the Consecration of bread and wine to become His Body and Blood. This was for one main purpose…. If each person in this world believed that in this act of the Consecration there is my Son, then all of humanity would be at Peace at this moment, and not one human eye could gaze upon Him without each person being prostrate….” (OLOE Private 10-02-03)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg October 2, 2003...

Pope John Paul II Homily, given on the Feast of Corpus Christi, June 14, 2001:

"...‘All ate and were satisfied' (Lk 9:17). The echo of a feast that has gone on without interruption for 2,000 years reaches us through the words of the Gospel we have just heard. A Feast of the people on their way in their exodus from the world, nourished by Christ the true Bread of salvation...."

An Act of Spiritual Communion

There are reasons and rules why both Catholics and non-Catholics may not be able to receive the Holy Eucharist sacramentally on a given day, for a period of time or forever; but that is not a reason not to participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and Eucharistic Adoration, making use of an Act of Spiritual Communion:

St. Boniface (680-755)

English Benedictine Archbishop, Missionary & Martyr

            Brief biography…..

            Litany of St. Boniface

What did Our Lord say in His Lessons on St. Boniface’s feast?

“…My people, do not wait till the chastisement for the beauty of My Father to be restored! ….

I am here to tell you, My people, that you can prevent the works of the evil one and destroy him now by loving. I am here to tell you, My people, that so much good and beauty can be restored through prayer.  I am here to tell you, My people, that wars can be prevented through prayer. Freedom and peace can be through prayer!....

These are not words of hopelessness, but words of victory and peace!  Begin!  Try!  Pray!  See beauty recreated before your eyes.  Anything is possible through love, anything and everything…..”  (Chastisements JOM, Vol. I, #55, June 5, 1989)

Jesus of Mercy, Vol. 1 Lesson #55 June 5, 1989

What did OLOE say on the feast of her beloved St. Boniface?

“…Believe, and it shall happen.  Nothing is impossible with God!

I thank you for coming here to the Center of my Immaculate Heart.  Here is a place through which all the world will come to  know that God the Father is a God of Love.  Do not be afraid of all the events that occur in the world.  Here you are safe, here within my most Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart.

God does not punish.  He is a holy, loving and merciful God, Who purges and makes anew.  Most people do not like change, but you will be challenged to grow more and more so that you can become holy….”  (Public OLOE, June 5, 2005)

Prayer to Save America

During these critical times in U.S. history as well as in salvation history, the Foundation will be including this prayer on all e-newsletters.

O merciful God, we cry to Thee for pardon and for mercy.
We are an unbelieving and perverse generation.
We are disobedient, disloyal and ungrateful to Thee.
We have excluded Thee from our homes, our schools, our places of business.
We are no longer worthy to be called Thy children.
Merciful Father, spare America!
Forgive us!
Save us from the scourge we deserve.
Teach us Thy law, and move our wills to serve Thee today and everyday.
Merciful God, please spare America!
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Pray for us!
