Divine Mercy Novena – March 30-April 8, 2018

(Start the Novena today & also pursue the Mercy Sunday Promises)

In 1935 Sister Faustina Kowalska received a vision of an angel sent by God to punish the world. She began to pray for mercy, but her prayers were powerless. Then she saw the Holy Trinity, and, filled with the power of Jesus' grace, found herself pleading with God for mercy with words she heard interiorly: “Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ for our sins and those of the whole world; for the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us.” As she continued saying this inspired prayer, the angel became helpless and could not carry out the ordained punishment.

Join us in this 9 –day Novena to the Divine Mercy which can begin on any day.  In addition, please take advantage of the separate promises made by Our Lord to St. Faustina in regards to Mercy Sunday! Are you aware of all that has been promised?

The Miracle of The Eucharist

Novena Prayer
Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament

O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine,
All praise and all thanksgiving be every moment thine.

Blessed be the holy and Immaculate Conception
of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God!

O Virgin Immaculate, Mother of Jesus and our tender Mother, we invoke thee under the title of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament, because thou art the Mother of the Savior who lives in the Eucharist, and because it was from thee that He took the Flesh and Blood with which He there feeds us! We invoke thee under that title because, again, thou art the sovereign dispensatrix of all graces and, consequently, of those contained in the august Eucharist, also, because thou didst first fulfill the duties of the Eucharistic life, teaching us by thy example how to assist properly at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, how to communicate worthily, and how to visit frequently and piously the Most Blessed Sacrament.

V. Pray for us, O Virgin Immaculate,
Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

R. That the Eucharistic Kingdom of Jesus Christ may come among us!

Let us pray:

Lord Jesus Christ, our King and our God, who having become Man to make us sharers in The Divinity, art truly our Bread in the adorable Eucharist, grant, we beseech Thee, that in venerating so great a Mystery, we may be mindful of the most sweet Virgin Mary, of whom Thou didst will to be conceived by the operation of the Holy Ghost! Grant, also that we may imitate the worship that she rendered while on earth to this most august Sacrament, so we may behold Thy Eucharistic Kingdom spread and flourish throughout the whole world! O Thou who lives and reigns forever and ever! Amen.

The Holy Eucharist

In the Catechism of the Catholic Church we are taught that:

The Eucharist is the heart and the summit of the Church’s life, for in it Christ associates His Father; by this sacrifice he pours out the graces of salvation on His Body which is the Church. (CCC 1407)

It is Christ Himself the eternal high priest of the New Covenant Who,, acting through the ministry of the priests, offers the Eucharistic sacrifice. And it is the same Christ, really present under the species of bread and wind, who is offering the Eucharistic sacrifice. (CCC 1410)

By the conseceq5ion the transubstantiation of the bread and wine into the Body and blood of Christ is brought about, Under the consecrated species of bread and wind Christ himself, living and glorious, is present in a true, real, and substantial manner”: His Body and His Blood, with His Soul and His Divinity. (CCC 1413)

Because Christ Himself is present in the sacrament of the altar, he is to be honored with the worship of adoration. To visit the Blessed Sacrament is …a proof of gratitude, and expression of love and a duty of adoration toward Christ our Lord. (CCC 1418)

Feast of St. Vincent Ferrer - April 5

Spanish Dominican priest, evangelist and reformer (1357-1419)

"Whatever you do, think not of yourself, but of God"
(St. Vincent Ferrer)

Brief biography and video...

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on the feast of St. Vincent Ferrer?

“…If you had reached the point you have without any pain or sorrow, then what good would it have been? You would have attributed your gain to your own glory. However, because you have suffered and persevered, you can now be certain that you have risen to the point where you can place your glory in Christ. You now know that it has not been of your doing, but rather the gift of my Son Who has brought you forth to this point. Thus, all glory resides in Him, and you share in that glory….But if you cannot endure the pain of my Son, then you cannot lead as my Son. My Son emptied Himself, never seeing Himself equal to the Father, but allowing Himself to be humbled to serve others. The vices of pride and righteousness must always be eliminated; and if not eliminated, they must be at least softened to a tremendous degree, so that all the works that come through you will give him glory. For without Him, no one in this universe could exist….” (OLOE Private 04-05-03)

Feast of St. John Baptist De La Salle - April 7

French priest, religious, founder, educator and Patron of Teachers(+1719)

St. John Baptist de La Salle, a man of great holiness and natural gifts, not only educated young people himself but continues to do so through the excellent principles and practices he established in the Society he founded. Not only that, but in order to prepare teachers for so important a mission in remote rural districts, he established training colleges.” (Pope Pius XII, Canonization Centenary, 1950)

Brief biography and video….

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said about Teachers?

"There are so many different types of people who are all special to God. Each person is necessary to fulfill God’s Will so that each soul can reach ultimate union with God. You cannot all be the same in gifts and grace. There are many different flowers in the field, and yet all are beautiful. When combined, all together they are breathtaking. It is so necessary to have different types of beautiful people, such as children, teachers, parents, students, leaders, clergy, laborers of the field, health providers and the like, because you all form the Face of God…." (OLOE Public 02-03-00)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg February 3, 2000...

How has Our Lord in His Lessons to the world instructed teachers?

"...Be a teacher by your way of living. Preach by your deeds of a holy life. Respect one another, and love one another with the purity of the love you have for Me!..." (JOM, Vol I, #78, 08-12-89, Dignity)

I AM Your Jesus of Mercy:
August 12, 1989...

A Teacher's Prayer

Lord in Heaven, help me never to forget the beauty in a little child. Never let me forget the wonder and trust and yearning in their bright, twinkling eyes. Help me to remember that I am shaping the lives of tomorrow’s generation. And, though I am unworthy of this precious charge, give me the strength to be the best model scholar and the best Christian example that I can possibly be.

Give me love to overcome adversity. Give me patience to overcome trials. Give me wisdom to overcome my shortcomings. Give me faith to overcome dark hours. And, as I find my rest tonight, help me to love my pupils and to remember them in my prayers.

Give me strength to be equal to tomorrow’s task, for I depend on you alone, just as my pupils depend on me.

Divine Mercy Sunday – April 8, 2018

Yes, in 1935 Sister Faustina did receive a vision of an Angel sent by God to punish the world. And yes, that Angel became helpless and could not carry out the ordained punishment as she implored the Eternal Father for His Divine Mercy.

The Feast of Divine Mercy...

In 1995 Our Lord spoke of His Mercy in His Lessons to the world:

"...My doors will remain open for all until the designated time when My Father closes them after He releases His angels to unseal the scrolls of judgment for the world. Now I continue to wait and accept even the least prayer for mercy." (JOM, Vol V, #22, 10-05-95, My Blessing of Peace, October 5th was subsequently designated the Feast Day of St. Faustina)

I AM Your Jesus of Mercy:
October 5, 1995...

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said about God's Divine Mercy?

“God has a way of purging and removing the thorns of the flesh, so that the soothing balm of His Love can penetrate and be absorbed into the core of your soul. It is far better to endure this now, so that later you can be the Light for others, in order that they can have hope in God.” (OLOE Private 03-29-08)

“On this Feast of His Divine Mercy, in this place where Mercy rests, I your Mother am grateful, and I take your petitions. I give to you not only the indulgence from my Son, passed on to you through my most beloved Pope; but I give also to you a new beginning, a beginning that rests within the freedom, the graciousness and the wholeness of being a child of God…. This unveiling of my Son's Divine Mercy is to unfold sooner than you might think it should be. The best thing that you can do is not to contemplate the time, but to wear the garment of His Divine Mercy. Be prepared. Be aware and all-accepting of what will come, because it is sooner than what the world believes it to be.” (OLOE Private 05-30-05)

Pope Francis’ Apostolic at the end of the Year of Mercy  November 20, 2016

“…This is the time of mercy. Each day of our journey is marked by God’s presence. He guides our steps with the power of the grace that the Spirit pours into our hearts to make them capable of loving. It is the time of mercy for each and all, since no one can think that he or she is cut off from God’s closeness and the power of his tender love. It is the time of mercy because those who are weak and vulnerable, distant and alone, ought to feel the presence of brothers and sisters who can help them in their need. It is the time of mercy because the poor should feel that they are regarded with respect and concern by others who have overcome indifference and discovered what is essential in life. It is the time of mercy because no sinner can ever tire of asking forgiveness and all can feel the welcoming embrace of the Father….”

Words of God the Father, April 8, 2006

Twelve years ago today, on April 8, 2006, God the Father acknowledged Our Lady’s role in salvation history and the power and influence she holds with the Most Holy Trinity in protecting and guiding her children:

“Look at your Queen!  She is the Empress of the World!  There is no one as pure as she is pure.  She has a direct link to the Holy Trinity; and there she presents your petitions and pleads on your behalf….

There is no so august a Princess, most pure and elevated even higher than Esther, to the level of Empress.  As she desires and as she implores on your behalf for your salvation, so We listen and are moved.

What a foolish notion it would be to not give the proper reverence in due course to such a Queen!  Had it not been for this most beautiful and pure Empress, the Hand of your Almighty Creator would have dealt harsher blows.  She is the one who holds back the angels' wings through her purity, her innocence, and her unconditional Love for you….”   (GTF, April 8, 2006)

The Feast of the Annunciation of Our Lord—April 9, 2018

For some in the Church, the image and the person of the Child Jesus has been difficult to blend, at least devotionally, with the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Crucified SaviorOur Lady of Emmitsburg uses this Feast of the Annunciation to help us broaden our understanding of this Oneness:

“…Within His Sacred Heart there also lies the Child Jesus, because the Two are One; One cannot be without the Other. Humanity does not know the definition or the breadth and depth of the whole Essence of my Son, so they look to their Salvific Savior as He Who is only the Sacred Heart of Jesus. They do not know that within the Sacred heart of Jesus first was the inception of the Christ Child. There in the Christ Child was the breadth and depth of humanity borne. So you must look to Him, Him in totality, the Christ Child and the Sacred Heart, both immense in his Love, there united to all who join Him….” (OLOE Private 03-24-03)

“…My little ones, I have a plan, a plan that my Son has allowed to unfold. This plan is for the safety of all humanity. It is one in which the Triumph of my Most Immaculate Heart will reign. There at it core are all the children who, regardless of religion, look to Jesus as the King of all Kings, the Child of all Generations, who look to Him where He is, not only a Child, but the Son of Man, who grew as a child, who prophesied, who had a ministry and public life, and who died for you. Now all over in this world are children who look to the Son, and they have been commissioned. Regardless of religion, they know in their hearts that redemption lies in following Him….

“…We are embarking on this most important moment in salvific history…. I take your petitions to my most Immaculate Heart, and there I make them pure and clean. As a mother I then present them to my Son because no son that loves God can refuse a mother. I am honored to be your Mother, because I am honored to bear the one Truth, the Savior Jesus Himself. There we as a family are all one….” (OLOE Private 03-25-03)

Mary's Fiat

Our Lady was not only given to humanity as a Mother through the action of her Son on the Cross, but also as a model to imitate her 'fiat' as a child of God. Let us reflect on what God the Father, Our Lord as well as Our Lady of Emmitsburg have said about her “fiat”:

FIAT - Part 1b
Mary's Fiat...

Homily in the Basilica of the Annunciation - John Paul II
Nazareth, Israel, March 25, 2000

“…The divine plan is gradually revealed in the Old Testament, particularly in the words of the Prophet Isaiah: ‘The Lord Himself will give you a sign. It is this: the virgin is with child and will soon give birth to a child whom she will call Emmanuel’ (Is 7:14) - God with us. In these words, the unique event that was to take place in Nazareth in the fullness of time is foretold. And it is this event that we are celebrating here with intense joy and happiness.

“Our Jubilee Pilgrimage has been a journey in spirit which began in the footsteps of Abraham, our ‘father in faith.’ That journey has brought us today to Nazareth, where we meet Mary, the truest daughter of Abraham…. For both Abraham and Mary, the divine promise comes as something completely unexpected. God disrupts the daily course of their lives, overturning its settled rhythms and conventional expectations. For both Abraham and Mary, the promise seems impossible…. Like Abraham, Mary is asked to say ‘yes’ to something that has never happened before…. Like Abraham, Mary must walk through darkness, in which she must simply trust the One who called her. Yet, even her question, ‘How can this come about?’ suggests that Mary is ready to say ‘yes,’ despite her fears and uncertainties. Mary asks not whether the promise is possible, but only how it will be fulfilled. It comes as no surprise, therefore, when finally she utters her ‘fiat’: ‘I am the handmaid of the Lord. Let what you have said be done to me.’ (Lk 1:38) With these words, Mary shows herself the true daughter of Abraham, and she becomes the Mother of Christ and the Mother of all believers….” (Homily, JPII,, March 25, 2000)

Annunciation Novena, April 9-17, 2018

When the Feast of the Annunciation falls during Holy Week, it is delayed until after Easter Week to celebrate this great feast of the fiat of Mary. Join us in this 9-day novena, this year encompassing both Easter Sunday and Mercy Sunday 2013, in honor of Our Lady in preparation for the great feast when Our Lord Jesus Christ became one with us in our humanness and made possible for each of us to become one with Him in His Divinity.

The Annunciation Novena

I greet you, Ever-blessed Virgin, Mother of God, Throne of Grace, miracle of Almighty Power! I greet you, Sanctuary of the Most Holy Trinity and Queen of the Universe, Mother of Mercy and refuge of sinners!

Most loving Mother, attracted by your beauty and sweetness, and by your tender compassion, I confidently turn to you, miserable as I am, and beg of you to obtain for me from your dear Son the favor I request in this novena: (mention your request).

Obtain for me also, Queen of heaven, the most lively contrition for my many sins and the grace to imitate closely those virtues which you practiced so faithfully, especially humility, purity and obedience. Above all, I beg you to be my Mother and Protectress, to receive me into the number of your devoted children, and to guide me from your high throne of glory.

Do not reject my petitions, Mother of Mercy! Have pity on me, and do not abandon me during life or at the moment of my death. Amen.

Feast of St. Gemma Galgani - April 11, 2018

“I wish, O’ Jesus,
that my voice could reach
to the ends of the world,
to call all sinners
and tell them to
enter into Thy Heart....
O’, if only all sinners
would come to Thy Heart!...
Come! Come sinners,
do not be afraid!
The sword of Justice
cannot reach you here!”
(St. Gemma Galgani, 1879-1903)

Prayer to St. Gemma

O Holy Gemma, you who physically suffered all the pains of the Passion of Jesus, I beseech of you the grace to meditate on and live the Passion of Jesus and the sufferings of Holy Mary. Pray that I will be able to walk in the path of humility, simplicity, love and sacrifice, fulfilling at all times, and in all ways, the Holy Will of God. Let me live united with Jesus, the Blessed Virgin and you, for all eternity.

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on the feast of St. Gemma?

“Little children, it is so necessary that you return to God soon before it becomes any more difficult to change. The longer people delay, the colder the heart becomes, more and more like stone. What is needed to return to God is to live by the virtues of love and dignity, not resentment, hatred or revenge…. Do not be blinded by the consumption to fulfill your quest. This is not a stepping stone to unconditional love, if in the process you become cruel in behavior through control and manipulation. Make a decision to walk the path of Love as my Son walked before you…. You will gain peace and serenity of heart in His Love.” (OLOE Public 04-11-96)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg April 11, 1996...

“It is true, Jesus, if I think what I have gone through
as a child and now as a grown up girl,
I see that I have always had crosses to bear.
But oh! How wrong are those
who say that suffering is a misfortune!”
(St. Gemma Galgani, 1879-1903)

Prayer to Save America

During these critical times in U.S. history as well as in salvation history, the Foundation will be including this prayer on all e-newsletters.

O merciful God, we cry to Thee for pardon and for mercy.
We are an unbelieving and perverse generation.
We are disobedient, disloyal and ungrateful to Thee.
We have excluded Thee from our homes, our schools, our places of business.
We are no longer worthy to be called Thy children.
Merciful Father, spare America!
Forgive us!
Save us from the scourge we deserve.
Teach us Thy law, and move our wills to serve Thee today and everyday.
Merciful God, please spare America!
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Pray for us!
