The Month Dedicated to the Holy Family

But while he thought on these things,
behold the angel of the Lord
appeared to him in his sleep, saying:
“Joseph, son of David,
fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife,
for that which is conceived in her,
is of the Holy Ghost…”

(Mt 1:20)

The Month Dedicated to the Holy Family

O Jesus, our most loving Redeemer, who having come to enlighten the world with Thy teaching and example, didst will to pass the greater part of Thy life in humility and subjection to Mary and Joseph in the poor home of Nazareth, thus sanctifying the Family that was to be an example for all Christian families, graciously receive our family as it dedicates and consecrates itself to Thee this day. Do Thou protect us, guard us and establish amongst us Thy holy fear, true peace and concord in Christian love: in order that by living according to the divine pattern of Thy family we may be able, all of us without exception, to attain to eternal happiness.

Mary, dear Mother of Jesus and Mother of us, by the kindly intercession make this our humble offering acceptable in the sight of Jesus, and obtain for us His graces and blessings.

O Saint Joseph, most holy Guardian of Jesus and Mary, help us by thy prayers in all our spiritual and temporal needs; that so we may be enabled to praise our divine Savior Jesus, together with Mary and thee, for all eternity. Amen.

(Say an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be three times.)

Consecration to the Holy Family and Reflection by St. Bernard...

8th Sunday in Ordinary Time - February 26, 2017

In the first liturgical from the Book of Isaiah on this 8th Sunday in Ordinary Time, the people of Israel, captive in Babylon, doubting the faithfulness of their God, cry out to the Lord, and He answers them:

Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me;
my LORD has forgotten me."
Can a mother forget her infant,
be without tenderness for the child of her womb?
Even should she forget,
I will never forget you.

(ISAIAH 49:14-15)

The trials of humanity have in the past and yet in the future will cause even the faithful to cry out to the Lord and doubt His faithfulness to His and His Mother’s promises. Let us recall the Words of God the Father to the world, the Lessons of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Messages of Our Lady of Emmitsburg as they reassure the faithful of their promises:

Abandonment to God, not by God...

Recurring themes during each Lenten Season are penance, conversion, repentance, obedience prayer, fasting and almsgiving. In their many gifts to the world God the Father in His Words, Our Lord Jesus Christ in His Lessons, and Our Lady of Emmitsburg in her Messages frequently address each of these. Over the remaining weeks of this Lenten Season, we will review these.

Lent 2017

Ash Wednesday – March 1, 2017

On Ash Wednesday each year, millions of Catholics and Christians throughout the world begin their Lenten Season with a blessing and the distribution of ashes in the form of a Cross on their forehead. This is most often accompanied by the words:

“Remember that you are dust, and unto dust you shall return.”
(Gen 3:19)

“Repent, and believe in the Gospel.”
(Mk 1:15)

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg, our Jesus of Mercy, and Almighty God the Father said to the world regarding this theme of dust?

Our Lady

“...God will have the last say in everything.... My words to you from Heaven are a gift and a true blessing in grace. Those who desire and receive them and who devour the words of God are the ones truly safe.... What is being revealed is the Truth. Those who desire to deceive God become entrapped within their own ways, and in the end all are exposed. From dust you were created and unto dust you shall return. You were clothed as you came into this world with the grace of God, and nothing of the world was there. As you return, nothing goes with you, only the grace. If you received it and used it and claimed it, it is yours. Otherwise, it returns back to the Creator.” (Private OLOE, Feb. 14, 2006)

Jesus of Mercy

“…Nourish your soul with the food of everlasting life. You feed your bodies without feeding your souls. It is your soul that lives, and your bodies which die and return to dust! Nourish your souls!...” (JOM, Vol II, #5, 09-29-89)

“There are many of My people who, when things do not succeed with them as planned, grow impatient. Remember, the ways you would like to control are not in your power to control. It is not within your power to acquire. Those, who act as if they have been awarded this power, live only amongst the deception of their own selves and, sooner or later, will be overthrown. Your worldly wealth and selfish desires to succeed monetarily through control and power are only short-lived! The time will soon come when all must face death; and this death is a reality of life which no one has control over, only the Heavenly, Divine, Almighty God!.... Live now in preparation to succeed in this death to life! You are but dust; and yet, because I spared you through My Death, your soul is precious!...” (JOM, Vol IV, #63, 07-29-92)

God the Father

“...The time of great importance is here.... You cannot stop the Hand of God! I do what I desire. I give, and I take away. I am the Alpha and the Omega. I am the fire at night to lead in darkness, and the cloud in day to protect from danger.... Life (physical life) is only dust - a life that is breathed into you. The soul is accountable and lives for all eternity. Where the soul goes depends on your free will.... As a rule for your own fate: reconcile and love, for I am a God Who is Just and Merciful. Only I weigh out the ultimate Truth.” (GTF 08-08-08)

Today marks the beginning of another Lenten Season, one which some of the many mystics and prophets around the world have led us to believe may be the last Lenten Season in which we will have the opportunity to celebrate in the traditional way. What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on previous feasts of Ash Wednesday?

“…My Son suffered for you to overcome humanity's resistance through its sin. People do not like to suffer and will oftentimes attempt to run away and not accept their suffering or pain. Yet, my Son accepted all of that suffering for you. He makes everything new! You are imperfect because of the act of original sin, but my Son cleanses and renews you through His Love and Paschal suffering. He will make you holy and wise if you desire to be holy and wise….” (OLOE Public 05-30-96)

OLOE Public, Ash Wednesday, February 25, 2004...

“This is a time of renewal, the time when each of you can join with my Son by looking at all the areas in your lives and mending them, focusing all of your attention on Jesus so that He can heal you. This is a redemptive time, a time when each of you should be doing good to your neighbor, not speaking harshly, not slandering, not gossiping, and not allowing hatred to fill your hearts. It is a time of hospitality instead of hostility, one in which you are gracious in giving and gracious in receiving….” (OLOE Private 05-30-05)

Litany of St. Joseph...

AN ANCIENT PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH That is said to never fail

O ST. JOSEPH, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in thee all my interests and desires. O St. Joseph, assist me by thy powerful intercession and obtain for me all spiritual blessings through thy foster Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord, so that, having engaged here below thy heavenly power, I may offer thee my thanksgiving and homage.

O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating thee and Jesus asleep in thine arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near thy heart. press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for me.

Prayer to Save America

During these critical times in U.S. history as well as in salvation history, the Foundation will be including this prayer on all enewsletters.

O merciful God, we cry to Thee for pardon and for mercy.
We are an unbelieving and perverse generation.
We are disobedient, disloyal and ungrateful to Thee.
We have excluded Thee from our homes, our schools, our places of business.
We are no longer worthy to be called Thy children.
Merciful Father, spare America!
Forgive us!
Save us from the scourge we deserve.
Teach us Thy law, and move our wills to serve Thee today and everyday.
Merciful God, please spare America!
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Pray for us!
