Our souls are first conceived as spirit in the Mind and Heart of the Father in eternity. Then each one of us is conceived in body through human participation, both naturally and artificially, and instilled by God with a soul. We are born from, or our life is cut short in, the womb.  We live a few minutes, days, years or decades, and then die.  We experience both consolation and suffering during life until death. Then we move on into eternity, eternal bliss with God or eternal damnation without God in Hell.  Little did so many of us know that we had from birth been placed in the center of an all-out war for the very life of our souls, a war between good and evil, a war between God and Satan.  And the measure of victory is not in our fame or fortune, our accomplishments or failures, but in our love!  How have we loved?  Has love been victorious in our lives and deaths?

If that be the case, then what is “love”—Christian love?

According to the Modern Catholic Dictionary we understand “love” in this way:

“The law of selfless love, which Christ said was a new commandment, by which those who are truly Christian would be recognized. He told his followers, ‘Love one another as I have loved you’ (John 5:12). This law is new because it is commanded by God Himself in human form; because it is to be a mutual love, given and received, as the foundation of a new reality, i.e., the Christian community, and because its norm or measure is essentially higher than self-love (Leviticus 19:18), since it is to be patterned after the manner that Christ, who is God, loved the human race even to dying for his enemies. In practice, this means that we are to love by wishing only well to one another, by praying for one another, and by never thinking, saying or doing anything to injure one another.”    (Online Catholic Dictionary, Fr. John Hardon, S.J.)

In the Words of God the Father given to the world through Gianna Sullivan, Our Almighty Creator puts His Own Love, salvation history, the war between good and evil, and the nature of the true victory in perspective:

“…Is it not now like it was back in the ages of Babylon, with the fighting between sons of Ishmael and Isaac?  The division is tremendous, but My Love is Awesome and has been procured for all the people of the world….

…You, children of Abraham, be not foolish!  Do you not see the Truth of your God at hand?  Evil begets evil, and Love conquers all!  No treaty or bartering tool can ever be exchanged for my Most Merciful Love, which will bring you all together to the One True God.  There is no victory in death caused by human hands.  The only victory in death is that which rests in the Triune God!”  (GTF, Oct 8, 2006)

O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?

(1 Cor 15:55)

Evil, Part 8A, The Victory over Evil

a.  Why Does He Care?

b.  Centering on God

c.  Discerning the Truth

d.  What (Who) is the Truth?

                           e.  The Battle

“…For every child of God defeats this evil world,

and we achieve this victory through our faith….”

(1 Jn 5:4)

Why does He care?

Because He loves us!

“…This is why the Father loves Me.

Because I lay down My life in order to take it up again….”

( Jn 10:17)

In our humanness it seems almost impossible to understand how much God loves each of us.  And in our pridefulness, we often do not like to consider that which we cannot understand.  Yes, Our Lord has left us His Church, His Word in Sacred Scripture, His Sacraments and His Mother, as well as almost unlimited graces and spiritual gifts.  But has not much of humanity diluted or discarded all these in the cesspool of worldliness and sin?  So through very special interventions and private revelations, including these Lessons, Our Lord relentlessly pursues each of us and tries desperately to explain to us, to convince us of, and to save each of us through His Love and Mercy:

“…My words that I give to My people are in hopes that they will realize the breadth and depth of My Love for them….My Life was for them and My Love is theirs.  Evil influence and weaknesses of the flesh continually crash as waves on the soul to distract and persuade it that I am a vengeful God.  The fact and truth is that I am merciful, forgiving, compassionate and understanding….The opportunity is within their reach, and it entails a humbling of the inner self, accepting their weaknesses and turning to Me in confidence and trust for strength and mercy….Each soul was created to love and to give God great glory.  In giving God glory, they in turn are sanctified and purified so that they may receive the same glory….

“…When you recognize your sinfulness and weakness, but turn to Me humbly for mercy, I bless you, teach you and give you the power to rise to the limits of compassion and love for self.  This gives God great glory when the soul recognizes that alone it merits nothing, but through God merits eternal life….

“…I did not give My Life in vain.  I gave My Life for all people….I am a God of Love, and all My works can only end in Love….I am a God of trust, and I can be trusted with the most hopeless situations, only to reap the most promising victories….I will save you and protect you if you will allow Me….The decision is yours, for I have given you free will.  I await to assist you at your call….I am your Jesus of Mercy….”  (JOM, Vol V, #23, Oct. 6, 1995, The Breadth and Depth of My Love)

“…All must yield to the Father’s Love, a Love that is not of human standards, but one which is Divine.  Those who know Me, know of My Love and accept it with humble resignation.  It is the only way to freedom….To be free, you must be peaceful, peaceful in victory and peaceful in defeat!...My disciples submit freely to this type of Love and peacefulness.  They walk with Me by the freedom of the Spirit….”  (JOM, Vol II, #51, Mar. 12, 1990, Discipleship)

“The power My people have has been granted to them from My Father.  Yet, because of wickedness, My people misuse their gifts and lose their power to create and restore goodness through love.  My people need to be understanding and compassionate!  They need to put aside their desires for personal gain and seek to please My Father in freedom…To do this they must desire self-denial and the total absorption of My Love and accept to do the Will of God.  Only My Father can take you to this point, for this is a gift from Him.  Only those He desires will unite in the Oneness of the Trinity.  Those He desires are My people, who themselves desire to be….

…I bless you and all My people.  No matter how evil or wicked they may seem to be in the eyes of man, they are good and only misled, in My Eyes; and I will never abandon them….”   (JOM, Vol III, #19, Dec. 17, 1990, Love and Compassion)

“…Break yourself from mortal desires, and allow Me to fill you with true Peace….The Kingdom of God is not an institution.  The Kingdom of God is Love and encompasses Love!...So step into My world of Love and try not to understand so much, as to walk by faith in trusting the Triune God….”  (JOM, Vol IV, #15, Mar. 16, 1992, Endure)

In her Messages to the world, Our Lady of Emmitsburg reinforces God’s Plan of Love as it relates not only to humanity, but to all of creation and the entire cosmos:

“…God is a God of Love.  He desires mercy, forgiveness and compassion.  Civilization will continue to be threatened by evil forces unless Mercy and Love silence its effects.  Implore God’s Mercy. Be children of Love and Mercy….”  (Public OLOE, Oct. 8, 1998)

“…Whether people are little or big, all are sinners.  The beauty of everything my Son has done is that it is an act of Love—nothing that you were worthy of or are worthy of. His Love is so great because He wants you to be with Him and to be like Him, to live in Him and to be in unison with the Holy Trinity.  What more glamorous event could anyone want?  It was the initial idea at the creation of the world, the universe and the cosmos….”   (Private OLOE, Jan 15, 2004)

“…For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son,

that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life…”

(John 3:16)

Centering on God

“…Jesus was in the center of the procession,

and the people all around him were shouting,

‘Praise God for the Son of David!

Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!

Praise God in highest heaven!’”

(Mt 21:19)

The world has always been filled with distractions, most often temptations to sin.  Yet, in this modern technological age with all the available social media combined with the practical atheism that has nearly overcome any vestige of Christian morality, God appears so often to have been moved to the edge of our consciousness, if even present at all.  Is it any wonder that humanity is blind to how close it has come to its very extinction, both physically and spiritually, were it not for the Love and Mercy of God?  Our world now celebrates the election of our new Pope Francis I, yet blasphemes and rejects the Son of God for Whom he is the Vicar.  We have found a way to place God anywhere but at the center of our lives.  How would the world look if we could bring Him back into the center?  Our Lord Himself in His Lessons responds:

“…Place Me at the center of your life, and you will enjoy life to its fullest.  Now in this time period of much interior and exterior struggle, there is hope, because I am here with you….Procure your relationship with Me and be free. Your soul’s future depends on this time of choice.  Be at peace, knowing that in the midst of the present happenings, My Hand is guiding you who truly desire safety….I will never leave you.  I will continue to bless you with My Spirit to protect you and help you in times of your need….”  (JOM, Vol IV, #90, Nov. 1, 1992, War in the Heavens)

“…Do not block My grace meant for you…If you place Me first, you will perceive My Love as the most important value of your life.  But the roots to selfishness and other human vices must be severed.  This is painful at times, but your persistence, dedication and commitment to My Love will master your frail and lifeless habits and behavior.  This is how you begin to love yourself.  I then become the center of your life, replacing you….”  (JOM, Vol IV, #50, Aug. 5, 1992, Roots)

“…If I were at the center of their lives, there would be  no need to fear.  If I were at the core of their souls, there would be no need for change.  The only direction they would be led would be onto My path of light….”  (JOM, Vol I, #51, April 16, 1989, Fear)

“…If My people would center on Me, there would not be hatred.  There would not be anxiety.  There would not be depression—because I am Love, I am Pure and I am Good!  If you centered on Me and allowed Me to love you, you would be filled with love, purity and goodness….”  (JOM, Vol I, #44, Feb. 1, 1989, Allow Jesus’ Love)

“…Envy closes My people’s hearts!  It is envy which destroys your life….Center your life on Me, and envy will be destroyed….The good and the bad cannot live together….The bad shall be separated from the good.  Those who center on Me shall be purified and shall be separated from those who choose to be without their God….”  (JOM, Vol I, #40, Jan. 24, 1989, Envy)

“…If I am at your center, then there is no need to hear words of people’s praise only to fill momentary pleasure.  This is selfishness…It is not as important to be understood as to understand; because if you live in Me and I in you, then you are understood by God….”  (JOM, Vol IV, #23, July 4, 1992, Seek Only Me)

“…All must learn to rely on God, and not on themselves….I wish to bring you to fulfillment by a way that I have designed specifically for you.  You will find yourselves by losing yourselves….Even My people who have made progress spiritually are oftentimes at distance in understanding how critical it is that I be at the center of their lives….When you think you are incapable of spiritual advancement, know you are in a healthy place.  So do not be upset or worried!  I will make you free….”  (JOM, Vol IV, #91, Nov. 27, 1992, Rely on Faith)

          Our Lady of Emmitsburg:

“…All your words and thoughts must be centered on God.  Do not be distracted by focusing on the offenses of others.  If you are consumed with the trivial issues, how can God entrust you with the larger ones of Mercy?  Do not focus on the actions of others.  Focus on your own actions and strive to always be loving….”  (Public OLOE, Sept. 28, 1995)

“…Jesus died to save all people who repent of their sins and seek the Mercy of God.  Your primary focus in this life should be centered on God.  Do not dwell on any circumstance in particular, or on any person, friend, stranger or even enemy.  Focus on God alone, and he will give you the grace to grow in practical goodness and love.…It is the state of your soul that is of urgent matter and needs to be nurtured….”  (Public OLOE, Feb. 1, 1996)

“I will be glad and rejoice in your love,
    for you saw my affliction
and knew the anguish of my soul.”

(Ps 31:7)

Discerning the Truth

“…Let those who are wise understand these things.

Let those with discernment listen carefully.

The paths of the Lord are true and right,

and righteous people live by walking in them.

But in those paths sinners stumble and fall….”

(Hos 14:9)

The Modern Catholic Dictionary defines the “discernment of spirits” as:

The ability to distinguish whether a given idea or impulse in the soul comes from the good spirit or from the evil spirit. It may be an act of the virtue of prudence, or a special gift of supernatural grace, or both. In persons who are seriously intent on doing God's will, the good spirit is recognized by the peace of mind and readiness for sacrifice that a given thought or desire produces in the soul. The evil spirit produces disturbance of mind and a tendency to self-indulgence. An opposite effect is produced by both spirits toward sinners.   (Modern Catholic Dictionary, Fr. John Hardon, S.J.)

We live in a world where the truth is elusive and frequently “spun” to support an agenda.  Thus, it becomes extremely important to be able to decipher the truth in the midst of such deceit and misinformation and the saturation of so much of our society with the father of lies and those spirits of evil.  It would seem to be an impossible task were it not for God’s grace.  In the form of the gifts of prudence and discernment, God does provide, through our prayer life and through our pursuit of intimacy with Him, the power to know what is true and what is not.  Our Lord in His Lessons and Our Lady of Emmitsburg stress the importance of this process:

“…Prudence teaches you to wait, pray and not to act on emotion but out of love.  Discernment teaches you counsel and allows you to weigh what is good and bad, and what you must do to follow Me….It teaches you to focus and will tell you that it is not the way for you….Spirits of evil are trying to confuse and distract My beloved ones.  All people can be subject unless they pray fervently, center on Me and utilize prudence and discernment.  Test the spirits!  Desire only that which is Divine….You will not stray nor will any forces of evil ever conquer you if you do as I have said….”  (JOM, Vol V, #20, Sept. 13, 1995, The Gifts of Prudence and Discernment)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg:

“…Unless Mercy and Love are at the center of your incentives and actions, Peace cannot dwell in your hearts….Without God at the center of your every action, desire, thought or deed, discernment can be difficult and oftentimes clouded with many other confusing issues…..”   (Public OLOE, Aug. 20, 1998)

“…God grants the graces of discernment….and it is a great gift indeed….Obstacles to discernment come from two angles. Firstly, vain or sinful thoughts can turn them away from prayer; or secondly, beautiful and complimentary thoughts can turn them away from true discernment to focus on their own thoughts, and the soul loses its communion with God….It is important to pray with your heart and ponder God’s words….”  (Public OLOE, May 7, 1998)

“…You must be prepared to be confident…,prepared to be motivated, to be humble, and to give in your humility ways that will guide others and you to the Truth of my Son.  For discernment of the Truth always lies in discussion on the human level pointed toward the Divine and with the discovery of the unveiling of God’s Love and Mercy which will always point to His Truth….”  (Private OLOE, Sept. 6, 2003)

“…You always have to be alert; and the only way you can be alert to know the Truth is through prayer.  When people talk to you and you do not know what to say, then just listen first before you answer.  Silence is better than opening up your heart, and then you can discern what is true and what is not….”  (Private OLOE, Mar, 29, 2006)

“…I am so pleased to be your Mother, your friend, your fortress of wisdom and a pillar directing you through the winds and torments of troubled waters coming your way and to all the world…As you pray, and as you stay close to my Son, you will be victorious and safe.  The more you pray, the more you will have the wisdom to discern what is true and what is not….”  (Private OLOE, May 10, 2009)

“…A person who does not have the Spirit

does not accept the truths that come from the Spirit of God.

That person thinks they are foolish

and cannot understand them,

because they can only be judged to be true by the Spirit….”

(1Cor 2:14)

What (Who) is the Truth?

“…I have no greater joy than this:

to hear that my children are walking in the Truth.

(3Jn 1:4)

Even the dictionaries and encyclopedias fall short in trying to define “Divine Truth.”  Is it a philosophical or theological or physical or psychological reality?  If we can’t define it, can we ever understand it or experience it?  Or can we just breathe it and be immersed in it?  Our Lady of Emmitsburg explains it in the context of the Person of God:

“…God is Truth.  Humility is Truth, and all are drawn and called to be humble.  When you seek humility, you seek Divine Truth.  There no forces of evil can dissuade you from one place to another.  They cannot tell you that God is not God.  The forces of evil would like to distract you to believe that; and they would like to corrupt or fog your way of thinking that God is only a God of Justice, and that in your weaknesses and faults you cannot be consoled….”  (Private OLOE, June 28, 2010)

Our Lord Jesus Christ  in His Lessons to the world expresses Divine Truth in terms of Himself, in His most perfect virtues, and in His promise to allow us to discover the Divine Truth in His Love as He searches our hearts:

“…When My children truly focus on Me, My Holy Spirit fills them with the knowledge of the Truth.  The Truth is that I give you love, peace, joy, faith and mercy, because I am Love, I am Peace, I am Joy, I am Faith and I am Mercy….If My people would be patient, and calmly open their hearts and allow Me to fill them with My Spirit, they too would be filled with the knowledge of My Truth….”  (JOM, Vol 8, #27, Jan. 6, 1989, Truth/Open Heart)

“…Truth cannot be defined by words!  Truth is the living breath of My Spirit.  It is putting into action prayers of mercy and charity.  To speak the truth, you must live My Truth, the Truth of My living Spirit, by being One with Me….The word ‘truth’ itself is Me, for I am Truth!...”  (JOM, Vol I #76, Aug. 10, 1989, Truth)

“…How My people restrict themselves by limiting, with their minds and hearts, what is attainable!  What man does not understand with his mind, he does not seek!....Man could not understand the Truth of My words and would have only accepted what he wanted to hear, had I not spoken in parables.  Even now, in these Lessons, few will grasp the total Truth and seek My Father’s Kingdom….”  (JOM, Vol II, #17, Nov. 1, 1989, The Living God)

“…Many of My people unveil the Truth, but many do not accept the Truth.  They act as if they have no knowledge of the Truth.  Better not to have any knowledge of the Truth than to find it and not acknowledge it!  The Truth is your sword.  Honesty is the weapon which will defend you in battle….Those who walk with Me are protected from harm….Union with God is certainty of victory and an eternal abundance of virtues which lead to an eternal seat in the Kingdom of God….”  (JOM, Vol II, #52, Mar. 24, 1990, Truth and Honesty)

“…The time will come when I, the Lord of all lords and Master of all masters, shall come to examine the consciences of mankind—to bring to light the hidden darkness and to silence all arguments!  I tell you that those who love Me entirely will learn the Divine Truth….Only I am the teacher of Truth.  I am the discerner of thoughts and the searcher of hearts; and only I give to all what I judge is fitting and appropriate….”  (JOM, Vol III, #6, June 13, 1990, I Am He Who Teaches)

“…The wickedness of sinners shall be brought to nought:

and thou shalt direct the just:

the searcher of hearts and reins is God….”

(Ps 7:10)

The Battle

“…I have commanded those I prepared for battle;
I have summoned my warriors to carry out my wrath –
those who rejoice in my triumph….”

(Is 13:3)

Our Lord has already won the battle.  He has won the war.  Evil has been defeated. Death has been forever thwarted.  However, Our Lord also now wants each of us to participate in that victory He has already won.  We do that through our faith and trust in Him, through our love for Him, and through our obedience to Him—all of which give Him great glory.  He now prepares us as a commander would prepare His soldiers for battle; however, high are the stakes!  Eternal salvation is the prize, the spoils of this war:

“…During this period of tribulation, crime, war and struggle, I ask My people to be ‘Warriors of Christ.’ Put on your armor of My Love and the Seal of the Cross to fight for purity and goodness; and your sword will be the sword of Love.  That is the way to salvation….”  (JOM, Vol IV, #90, Nov. 1. 1992, War in the Heavens)

“…The battle is in the heavens against evil, and much prayer, fidelity to faithfulness and simplicity in surrendering to God are the powerful tools of victory.  Unity is what is needed.  Peace is needed….The time of victory is for God alone to choose….Have perseverance and hope in your God of Love….Master all feelings through endurance and perseverance.  Pray, pray, pray!  Remain faithful and hope in My Love….”  (JOM, Vol V, #16, Sept. 9, 1995, Little Children of Hope)

“…If you love your Lord with all your mind, heart and soul, you cannot be wounded internally….The evil one cannot irritate you with confusing thoughts if you have given Me your mind.  Those who walk with Me and follow Me harbor pure thoughts.  Their temptations can only be short-lived, for evil thoughts are not able to manipulate their actions….” (JOM, Vol II, #47, Feb. 21, 1990, Unity)

“…I would like to tell My people that when they are persecuted, wounded in spirit and wracked by hatred from enemies, I am persecuted and wounded for them and with them….It is a constant battle—the division in the struggle of life and the search for life hereafter….”  (JOM, Vol II, #15, Oct. 28, 1989, The Presence of Jesus)

“…Do not fear them,

for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you….”

(Deut 3:22)

“…No matter who is difficult with you, exchanging harsh words or instructing you in a selfish, authoritative command, you can maintain peace and harmony within yourself if you dive into a quiet prayer and never lose your focus.  Do not allow people to influence you, even if you admire their ways.  Be yourself by following only Me.    Remember, you live in a world of defects through sin and evilness, but I have conquered the world and died for your salvation….Listen, love, assist and pray!...It will relieve your mind of business, and will inflame your heart with a greater desire to serve and live in joy and unity….”  (JOM, Vol IV, #32, July 18, 1992, Infinite Love)

“Return and restore the beauty to one another by loving and having mercy.  Stop your killings.  Stop, I tell you, and love!  You are destroying the goodness of My Father’s Kingdom, which He gave to you!  Fight the evil one.  Do not join his side!  Fight him with prayers and love!”   (JOM Vol 1, #35, Jan. 12, 1989, Mercy)

“…He saved others; He cannot save Himself.

He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross,

and we will believe in Him….”

(Mt 27:42)

Soldiers do not go into battle without preparation.  Olympic athletes do not go into competition without years of training.  Saints do not become saints before they undergo the tedious process of perfecting the virtues in their growth in holiness.  We are all called to be saints, and we are offered the privilege of sharing in God’s power, in His Love and in His Truth.  Our Lady of Emmitsburg makes it clear that He could have accomplished this alone, but rather He chose to share this battle and victory with Him:

“Little ones, by His power, Jesus could instantaneously change the world.  He could prove His power.  He could silence the storm of evil.  His Word commands the wind and the rain.  He could show His power, but remains silent and hidden.  Why, little children?  Because the Life and Death of Jesus, you have inherited His Love, His Kingdom.  You have the power, through His Love, to change the world.  His Love is in you.  You can change the world!....Do not blame God any longer for your problems because of your own slothful practices.  Jesus will come again, and His Word will silence evil in due time.  Are you ready?”   (Public OLOE, Jan. 1, 1998)

“…Make good resolutions to work on your infirmities.  Even if you fail, rejoice in God and try again.  Do not have self-pity, which only leads to loss of self-esteem.  Turn to Jesus.  Trust in Him.  He will make you strong and powerful to fight the ways of evil through your weakness.  He will not allow you to fall unless there is a cushion of love to raise you up again….”  (Public OLOE, July 30, 1998)

“…God speaks to your souls in silence; and you must protect His Love and quietness as a compartment of privacy, so that no one can strip you of the Love God desires to give to you.  In this way you will be able to practice His gifts of virtue by practicing silence when you are persecuted or accused….Satan, in despair and anger, would like to interrupt your intimacy with God and invade this process of sanctification by waging a battle with your souls.  You can conquer Satan without fighting and defeat him through the weapons of interior peace and tranquility.  Little ones, treat everyone, whether they be friends or not, with the charity you have learned from my Son.  Do not consider who they are, whether they speak well of you or not, or whether they are your friends or enemies.  Step out into the darkness which surrounds the world with the Light in your souls which God Himself fuels….”  (Public OLOE, June 8, 2000)

“…Blessed is the one who reads aloud,

and blessed are those who listen to this prophetic message

and heed what is written in it,

for the appointed time is near….”

(Rev 1:3)

“…How blessed indeed are those who truly desire to live, to uphold the Truth, to fight the battle, to conquer evil and to confront the unfortunate and those who are confused.  Blessed are those who desire to lay the groundwork for holiness in the beauty of the Life that has been given to them….”  (Private OLOE, Jan. 6, 2004)

“…God is real!  Never forget, God is real!  And as God is real, so too is the evil one who desires to destroy you, to harm you, to cause you confusion and doubt, and to cause you to have division, insecurity and the lack of compassion.  But you are aware; and as you are aware and alert, you rise above the moment and shine even greater through your love….”  (Private OLOE, Mar. 4, 2004)

“…You must do what is necessary and fit to uphold the Truth of God’s Word….This battle is a battle of spiritual righteousness, a battle between good and evil, and a battle which focuses and directs all attention on the Truth.  In the world we live, many think they are correct, who have harmed other people, and who have an attitude that is quite deceptive, insulting, abrasive and arrogant towards God; but at the same time, they can see themselves as being humble, all-loving, protected and favored by Heaven….It is not easy to hear and to live the words of God day after day because of our human weaknesses and sinful ways and because you are novices.  If you try, as you have done, then this reconciles and relieves you and elevates you to a position to be an open door; so that when Jesus comes, He no longer needs to know, but only needs to walk through….”  (Private OLOE, Mar. 23, 2004)

“‘…I know your works.

Behold, I have set before you an open door,

which no one is able to shut;

I know that you have but little power,

and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name….”

(Rev 3:8)

Comradery and Unity in Battle

“…He that feareth God, shall likewise have good friendship:

because according to Him shall his friend be….”

(Sir 6:17)

In any military battle, there needs to be teamwork.  One soldier cannot secure a victory alone, but rather a unit or squadron or battalion is involved with each member providing a variety of skills and/or experience.  So too it is in the spiritual realm, and Our Lady of Emmitsburg calls for a joining of forces and unity in proceeding forward:

“…Know that there are both tremendous evil and a tremendous battle in the heavens and on earth.  You can conquer this evil with humility and tremendous prayer.  Always keep before you my eyes, the eyes that I have on my Son.  Make my eyes your eyes.  Look through my eyes and see a most precious loving Savior Who is there and Who loves you.  Give praise to those among you who give their hearts to my Son, and dedicate their lives in priestly duties to all those in the world.  There are also many people in need of support and understanding.  Let them know that they are supported and loved, especially in their ministries as well as in their ordinary and extraordinary ways of life….”   (Private OLOE, Mar. 27, 2004)

“…Evil is all around you, but I am also around by your sides.  You should be happy for one another.  You should uplift one another and strive to help one another.  This is the way to slay evil.  It is not what you need as much as what you can give….You were given to each other, all of you as gifts, each one of you, each and every one of you.  So if you rely on your gifts of comradery and friendship, you will be surrounded by the Peace and the protection of God.  O’ evil hates you all, all evil.  However, all of Heaven loves you all.  So what is left when there is the dichotomy of good and evil?  What is left but free will?  It is your choice.  It is for you to decide which way you shall walk….”  (Private OLOE, June 22, 2004)

“…You must join together and fight this evil that is threatening the destruction of life, the life of humanity.  A life that is taken is a life that is no longer allowed, especially in this world, not the world of God the Father, but in the world as you know it….”   (Private OLOE, Oct. 2, 2004)

“…In a battle many are wounded and many die.  In a spiritual battle you must first be the armor of Love and protect yourself and those around you who are in the army of God.  Only then can you reach out to those in need; but by then, it may be too late.  So always protect what you have and never let the flame of Love leave your heart, because evil will try in an instant and at any cost to snuff out that flame….”  (Private OLOE, Sept. 5, 2009)

You cannot save everyone.  You can save yourself if your own heart is with God.  If it is not, then not even you can be saved.  I believe that you are all gems of Christ; however, be alert, because the evil one is not far behind you, trying to distract you and pull you away.  So do not be presumptuous that you have already gained freedom of entry….”  (Public OLOE, Jan. 31, 2007)

“There is no longer time to be distracted by anything.  All there is time for is to love and to unify; and in your actions of love, people will see the Truth.  Truth is so important, because within my most Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, all things will be made new, for they will be made new within my Son….  (Private OLOE, Aug. 15, 2010)

“…Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

Put on the full armor of God,

so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil….”

(Eph 6:10-11)

Hope in Battle
”…Behold, I make all things new….”

(Rev 21:5)

An Olympic athlete can train for a lifetime for that one moment in time, that one moment in the sun.  Yet, he could get injured the day before the big race.  He could be disqualified because of a false start.  He could fall during the race.  In our times, the race could be cancelled due to international politics or a terror attack.  In all of these scenarios, he might feel great sadness, like he had wasted so much time and effort, that he had even been betrayed.  The race is over.  He could not race.  He did not win or even place.  He had now lost all hope of victory.

It is not so in the spiritual world!  God has already won the race.  No external forces or circumstances can prevent us from sharing in that victory.  Even if we have fallen multiple times, we were still picked up and welcomed back.  We can still win the race and share in the glory.  There is and always will be hope!  Nothing but our own free will can block this outcome.  Our Lady of Emmitsburg challenges each of us that it is now up to us to help her leave as few behind as possible.  God’s Love working in us may be their final hope:

“…The signs of the times have revealed that the end of an era is truly sooner than you think.  You can tell by what has been unfolding in the world….You cannot become upset over the least things that happen to you, even within your families, because you have been taught to wear the armor of God….”  (Private OLOE, Aug. 15, 2010)

“…There cannot be any distraction any longer.  There can only be the hope for a new tomorrow.  For you are about to enter a time that has been foretold for centuries and promised by Heaven….This is the time to gather as many as you can, because there is not enough time left.  Too many evil things in the world are trying to supersede what is good.  God will no longer stand for it!  Even though many people do not believe it, when they see what is about to unfold and then do believe, there is not enough time to change….”  (Public OLOE, Jan. 31, 2007)

“…How many of you live now in this world ‘empty,’ day by day, without any consolation, and suffering with a sorrowful heart?  I join you, for I am with you.  But remember this: the hope is there in my Son, for He awoke and resurrected.  He closed His Eyes in sorrow and in pain from what He knew He had done for the salvation of humanity. But then, He opened his eyes on a new mission, knowing very well that He would have to walk in the world to convince all of His Presence.  So it is today, and He knew very well then that the mission and the fight against evil was just beginning.  Yet, victoriously He stood and walked….”  (Public OLOE, April. 7, 2007)

”…For evil men have no hope of things to come,

and the lamp of the wicked shall be put out….”

(Prov 24:20)
