"We are writing this so that our joy may be complete."

(1Jn 1:4)

The Fruits of the Holy Spirit

"The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,

goodness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, modesty, chastity and self control."

(Gal 5:22-23)

Webster's Dictionary defines "fruit" in a more general sense as "the result, product or consequence of any action."  The Fruits of the Holy Spirit are 12 in number and are (according to St. Thomas Aquinas) defined in a more restricted sense to mean only those supernatural works that are done joyfully and with peace of soul.  The fruits of the Holy Spirit are not habits, permanent qualities, or even merely virtues, but they are themselves the acts. In contrast, the Catechism of the Catholic Church defines "human virtues" as "firm attitudes, stable dispositions, habitual perfections of intellect and will that govern our actions, order our passions, and guide our conduct according to reason and faith."  But, however perfect the virtues may be, they cannot be considered as the ultimate effects of grace intended to produce something good unless they are performed with ease and pleasure drawn from the presence of the delight and satisfaction resulting from the good accomplished.

“Everything you do, do as if it were for Me….

Take time, and love the small works you do.

You will find much joy and peace

when you devote extraordinary love in the ordinary tasks,

the small joys done on a daily basis.

If you can take care of the small items, then

you will be able to love and tend to bigger projects with the same love.  This extraordinary love will become your way,

and you will live in union with Me.”

(JOM, Vol IV, #35, July 21, 1992)

"Joy," one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit, when listed in St. Paul's letter to the Galatians, is listed 2nd only to "love."  When as human beings we experience God's Love and it begins to take root in our interior being, the natural outflow is joy.  It is that same joy then that can, through the interior workings of the Holy Spirit, attract others to God's Love.

Webster's Dictionary defines "joy(ful)" as synonymous with happy, glad or cheerful, and the Thesaurus relates it to feelings of great happiness or pleasure, bliss or exultation.  All of these definitions seem to define only the expression of the wonderful emotion, which can often be very superficial, and thus often does not include any reference to the specific circumstances or the duration of the emotion.  In contrast, "Biblical or Christian joy" encompasses a much more relational meaning, expressed in the Greek translations of the Old and New Testament writings by the word "makarios," which also includes the meaning of "blessed," and is the word used in the Greek translation of Our Lord's expression of the Beatitudes during the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew's Gospel.  "Blessed" then takes on the meaning of possessing the favor of God, that state of being marked by God.  It indicates the state of the believer in Christ who becomes a partaker of God's nature through faith in Christ.  The believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit because of Christ, and as a result should be fully satisfied no matter what the circumstances.  Thus, Biblical/Christian "joy" is not dependent on happiness or good luck or favorable circumstances, but on one's satisfaction coming from God alone.  (Spiros Zodhiates' Complete Word Study Dictionary, p 937)

Biblical/Christian joy is then inseparable from our relationship with God and springs from our knowledge and understanding of the purpose of life and the hope of living with God for eternity where there will be joy evermore.  If God is actually present in our lives, the Joy He experiences can begin in us.  Joy is the sign that life has found its purpose, its reason for being!  This too is a revelation of God; for no one can come to Him and find the purpose of life unless He, by His Spirit calls him and reveals it.  (The Fruit of the Spirit: Joy, Ritenbaugh, John W., Forerunner, April 1998)

Through the mystical experiences of Gianna Talone Sullivan over the past 22 years, there has been a voluminous number of inspirational "Words" of God the Father (#18), "Lessons" from Our Lord Jesus Christ (#80), and "Messages" from Our Lady of Emmitsburg (#over 400) which contain the word "joy," or one of several words of which it is the root (joyful, joyous, jovial, enjoy & rejoice).  In this compilation on "JOY" we hope to explore this vast heavenly grace to the world in a way that draws each of us closer to God--His Love and His Joy!

Part 1

"The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure buried in a field,

which a person finds and hides again,

and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field."

(Mt 13:44)

“Little ones, I know that oftentimes it is so hard for humanity to believe that I, the Mother of God, a humble servant and a gracious Mother to you also, would come to you and bestow great blessings upon you.  The day will come when humanity will know that this is the moment in time in which I am present to all of you and all of humanity.  The time will come when they will see the great grace that is theirs to be had.  For those who do not desire me and my Son in their lives, the grace will still be abundant for them. All that they have to do is to reach out and grasp what has been given to them and live it in humility and with the Love of God.

"Too often many people seek other signs and want consolations and comfort.  What you have is something great, perhaps even abused, in that you do not even realize the tremendous joy that has been offered to you from Heaven, the protection, the blessings, the graces, the gift to persevere, the courage to move on, and the Seal of Love from Heaven above….”  (Private OLOE, June 21, 2005)

“…I am very grateful that I am able to be here with you.  It is the Will of God!  I could not come if it was not His Will.  For this, I am filled with joy—the joy to fulfill every desire of the Triune God.”  (Private OLOE, Jan. 23, 2007)

The Joy of God the Father

"Those whom the Lord has ransomed

will return and enter Zion singing, crowned with everlasting joy.

They will meet with joy and gladness,

sorrow and mourning will flee."

(Isaiah 51:11)

All creation, all grace, all virtue, all gifts and all fruits have their origin in God.  Thus, it only follows that all Joy too would have there its origin:

"From the inception of time the Triune God, Father, Son & Holy Spirit, the Holy Trinity, gathered together.  In this meeting Creation unfolded; and the Eyes of this Triune Godhead, the Father, released a plan of Goodness and Joy….However, man went against My Word.  Man needed to repent and atone for sin….It was determined that My Son would later come in human flesh to redeem the world which, created by My Hands, would come back to Me…."  (GTF, Dec. 8, 2005"The one act of redemption was completed for you.  You need to simply trust and believe without fear that I your Father will care for you always.  Any doubt blocks the reception of My Joy….”  (GTF, June 8, 2007) “…Joy is given to you at a great cost to My Son!”  (GTF, Sept. 8, 2007)

And it is that very Son, Jesus Christ, Who paid the price for our joy that rejoices in His Lessons to the world in the Joy of God the Father:

"…Sing to God the Father, My beloved people, love chants and praises. Absorb the presence of the Joy He gives to the creatures of the earth, which you have inherited until you claim your inheritance of Heaven….Seek the quiet intimacy of truth and joy through contemplation and prayer of thanksgiving to your Father….Rejoice!…Peace lives in the Truth of His Word; Peace lives in Him.  He is the WordI am the Word because of Him Who sent Me.  Blessed be My Father….Blessed by My Spirit, the Holy Spirit Who gives to you because of Me.  I am because of My Father.  Therefore, blessed be My Father through Whom all good things come!  Blessed be this earth He has created!…”  (JOM, Vol IV, #25, July 7, 1992)

“…Blessed be God the Father for His unconditional Love and kindness which shower graces upon My people….Find Joy in the Father, My beloved ones.  He is Love and the Source of Peace.  I give you My Peace for I give to you all that He has given to Me.”  (JOM, Vol V, #12, May 31, 1995)

In his book Christ Our Joy, the Theological Vision of Pope Benedict XVI, author Msgr. Joseph Murphy summarizes the various dimensions of joy found in the Holy Father's theology of the Eucharist.  He writes: "The Eucharist gives rise to the joy for the salvation that the Lord has won for us in the Paschal mystery; joy at the Lord's abiding Presence; joy that arises from the intimate union with Him that takes place in the Eucharistic communion and binds us more closely to the Life of the Trinity.  Furthermore, the joy that flows from the Eucharist urges us to evangelize and commit ourselves to bringing the 'yeast' of the Gospel into society and the world at large."  Our Lord in His Lessons speaks of an "ecstasy of Joy":

"…I invite all My people to raise their hearts to God the Father through My Blessed Sacrament.  If you will absorb My Love and rest in My Love, your heart, mind and soul will be rejuvenated and will rise to an ecstasy of Joy….How My Father desires to be the tender Father of all My people!”  (JOM, Vol V, #1, Nov. 11, 1994)

The Will of the Father

"Well done, my good and faithful servant.

Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities.

Come, share your master's joy."

(Mt 25:23)

Throughout history, far too often humanity has deviated from the Divine Will.  Our Lord Himself links the joy and happiness available to all humanity with the acceptance of the Divine Will of the Father:

“The Will of My Father is the most critical ingredient to your happiness!  If only My people would accept His Will for them, how endless their happiness would be!…Accepting with joy all that is sent you is accepting the Will of My Father….The outcome of God's Will will always be peaceful and result in your happiness.  It also gives you glory because, by doing the Will of God, you give Him glory!  If you live in Me, you have, in turn received glory yourself!”  (JOM, Vol II, #44, Feb 10, 1990)

No human being knows better the Joy experienced by the Father through the obedience of the Son than His Mother.  Our Lady of Emmitsburg recalls His Life, His hiddeness, littleness, faithfulness and holiness.  Are these attributes that we seek or shun?

“My Son gave great glory to God the Father in His humble, daily and oftentimes in the eyes of people, meaningless works….He knew He had the Father's approval, and He found great joy in fulfilling the Father's Will by faithfully tending to His daily, little duties….He did not seek to be great or do great things, because He knew His Father was great and His greatness rested in the Father and in doing the Father's Will.  Doing great works does not make you holy, little children.  Holiness rests in faithfulness….You need only to do the Father's Will.  Honor comes from God, not the world.  Ponder, little children, how My Son, even in His hidden life, outlined the way to holiness, and through his example of 'littleness' gave the Father great glory by doing His Will.”  (Public OLOE, Feb. 4, 1999)

So, all are invited!  None are exempt.  It is through your own act of free will that you can push away the holy Angels that protect you and guide you.  But it gives tremendous Joy to God the Father when He sees children, such as you, pure of heart and loving in spirit, desiring to fulfill His Will.”  (Private OLOE, Oct. 3, 2006)

The Joy of Jesus

“Come, all who are hungry, and eat My bread.

Come, all who are thirst, and drink from My well.

Come and receive the Joy and the Peace I wish to give you!”

(JOM, Vol I, #18, Dec. 15, 1988)

The Joy of Jesus!  From where does it come?  Our Lord in His Lessons shares the answer to this question in terms for the most ordinary to understand.  Are we satisfied with that simpleness that leads to holiness, or do we have another agenda?

"My dear little one, it is with joy that I come to you and My people.  I find joy in My beloved people because I love them.  The wonder of love fills those who take joy in all they do and encounter each day--joy, because the Will of God unfolds as they fulfill their responsibilities in simpleness.  The Will of God is revealed as you work, pray, encounter and interact with all people.  Those who work, focusing on the simpleness of My Love, find joy!  I find joy in My people when I look upon families, marriages, children, single lay people, religious, and all men and women who fulfill their daily duties consecrated to the Will of God.  What Joy I have when I see two people as husband and wife consecrated to God in love and simpleness praying together.   I find joy in My young ones who do their best in their daily chores, studies, play and prayer.  I take joy in My little children, pure of heart and innocent, and in all parents who strive in prayer to live in love and harmony in the family.  I find joy in My children who are obedient to their parents in love.  The Will of God unfolds in all people as they simply remain open, surrendering to love, utilizing all avenues of love which perfect them in holiness.  They are filled with joy and peace because they are dedicated to their daily obligations in the littleness and simpleness of My love.  Oh, how I am filled with joy in My people.  I take delight in them when they desire to fulfill the Will of God.  I take delight in My religious who dedicate their lives to proclaiming My Truth of Love.  My priests and My religious suffer tremendously as they refuse to follow deception but remain loyal to My current Vicar your Pope and My Church, regardless of any pressure to do otherwise.  I find joy in all who are dedicated to My Truth at all costs and who are consecrated to My Most Sacred Heart and My Mother's Immaculate Heart.  The Two Hearts shall reign in victory and the day will come forth when all the world will know of the triumph of the TWO HEARTS…."  (JOM, Vol V, #12, May 31, 1995)

"Yes, in joy you shall depart,

in peace you shall be brought back."

(Is 56:12)

It seems impossible for Our Lord to teach about JOY without extending His teaching to His Peace and Love, in contrast to control and victory over others:

"…Accept with peace and joy My Presence in your hearts and learn to love openly without judgment or condition your spouse, family, friends, co-workers and enemies.  Maintain equanimity in all matters, and allow Me to be your God…."  (JOM, Vol. II, #45, Feb. 12, 1990)

“…People carry My Joy in their facial expressions….If you are at peace, peace will show through your actions and on your face.  If you are filled with My Joy, My Joy will show through your actions and radiate on your face.  Those who walk with Me show My Divine Presence!  I wish for all to love….Love is loving the spirit, loving far beyond the body, but loving the spirit; for the Spirit is God!…”    (JOM, Vol II, #50, Mar. 7, 1990)

“I wish for My people to realize that they are powerless when they desire to control.  They are only powerful in Me. When they give to Me their control and allow Me to discipline them in spiritual maturity, they receive My Joy and Peace.  My journey is not victory over others, but is victory over yourself, victory in receiving eternal bliss….How pure, and what joy it brings to Me when My beloved people come and open their hearts to Me.  Speak to Me, and share your joys with Me.  Be open and accept where you are in your journey, for where you are is where I desire you to be….All must go at My pace if they truly desire to follow Me.”  (JOM, Vol III, #16, Oct. 25, 1990)

Our Lord proceeds to make the connection between Christian joy and human suffering.  This connection certainly seems to be the most difficult for many in our modern, secular world to understand:

“Times are difficult for many, but I am here with you on earth and in Heaven.  I desire so for My people to adore and tend to Me.  Suffering is painful, yet joy can exist because I can grace you with this virtue.  If you do not have My Joy, perhaps My purification of suffering in your turmoil is enough for you.  Acceptance in peace with trust, moment to moment, gives you strength to receive whatever grace I deem fit….O' how blessed are they who quietly accept, without recognition and compensation for their efforts, their suffering when they feel nothing, and yet desire only to tend to Me and adore Me!  It is true intimacy when the closer you get to the reign of God, the farther you think you are; and so you humble yourself unto Me, as I humbled Myself unto you to the point of self death…. (JOM, Vol IV, #3, Oct. 9, 1991)

“I your Lord God bring you peace, for I am Peace.  I do not wish for My people to be distraught but to be filled with joy in the Lamb of God.  Rejoice and be filled with Joy!  I am with you.   My Mercy is upon you, and I shall not abandon you….Receive My Joy….Live in charity and love one another….Only you can deny yourself My glory by not allowing Me to be merciful; but all my people have until their last breath to ask for My Mercy….The pride must be stripped in order that humility can replace it.  It takes time to grow in holiness, charity and love, because of human weakness, sinfulness and vices of the flesh.  My Mercy soothes the pain when My Truth lances the flesh of its many vices.  Therefore, rejoice in gratitude that you are loved by Me and that you are being purified in order for you to share eternal glory with Me….Rejoice when you receive ill-treatment for the sake of My Name.  You belong to Me….As I have suffered so shall you share in My suffering.  Where I am in glory so too shall you share in My glory.  Be at peace and rejoice in your Savior's Mercy!”  (JOM, Vol V, #11, April 30, 1995)  “Rejoice in Me and in Him Who has sent Me.  Do not be somber or melancholy.  Be joyful.  Sing praises of joy in Me, and you shall receive My Joy.  Remember, it is I Who wishes to give you My Joy, and for that Joy to be complete.”  (JOM, Vol IIII, #4, May 21, 1990)

It seems just as impossible for Our Lord to teach humanity about JOY without including His Blessed Mother as the centerpiece of that discussion.  He begins this discussion on the Feast of His Mother's Assumption in 1989:

“On this, My Mother's feast, I wish to share with you My Joy, as I celebrate her goodness as the Mother of all Humankind…." (JOM, Vol 1, #79, Aug. 15, 1989)  “She is the 'Woman’ of the stars, clothed in beauty.   She is the 'Lady' of wondrous signs.  She is My Mother Immaculate, born to give birth to Him who was sent without sin for the salvation of mankind….She represents hope to mankind….She is My Mother.  She is My Heart.  She is all of Me.  We are One in the same through the unity of the Holy Trinity….

"…I listen to her.  I listen to those who listen to her.  She is the silence of beauty who whispers in My ear your loving prayers.  I whisper in your ear My Joy of her love.”  (JOM, Vol IV, #10, Dec. 8, 1991)   “She lived in a world of struggle and turmoil, but remained faithful to the Word revealed to her by the Angel Gabriel.  She lived the tidings of the message of joy, in joy, and all the ages call her 'Blessed'!  (JOM, Vol IV, #60, Aug. 8, 1992)

"…If you truly grow and follow My ways, you will follow the example of my Mother.  Contemplate how she loves Me by serving Me quietly and obediently….She always showed her love by listening, assisting and praying for others.  If you are truly growing in My Love, know that I found you.  You did not find Me!  Live as My Mother lived, for Me…"  JOM, Vol II, #45, Feb. 12, 1990).

Our Lady of Emmitsburg, both as His Mother and our Mother, continues to point to her  Son, to His Joy, to His desires, to His grace, and to our own growth in holiness.  Are our own desires truly those of Jesus and His Mother, or do we sometimes just pretend they are?

“…Jesus is with you and waits for your words of love.  He waits for your hearts, which He desires to fill and to open to His Joy….You cannot give Him only a portion of your hearts….It is necessary to belong totally to Him to be filled with love.

“I am a Mother who desires to see her children happy, secure and growing in holiness.  You cannot acquire these things alone.  Only Jesus can grace you with true happiness, true security and true holiness.….”  (Public OLOE, May 6, 1999)

The Joy of the Blessed Virgin Mary

"They were overjoyed at seeing the star,

and on entering the house they saw the Child with Mary His Mother."

(Mt 2:10)

God the Father Himself reaped the first fruits of His Own Joy as He received the joy of His daughter Mary, the perfection of His own creation:

"She was created from My Hand.  This soul's 'fiat' came into the world, and she devoutly gave her undivided attention with songs of prayer and praise and joyous exclamation to Abba, knowing that good fruit was about to unfold.  This woman deemed Immaculate and pure gave a 'fiat’ of her own free will to live for all people for one purpose, that being to present to the world the Truth of God.  Within her womb immaculately came the Truth.  As the little Child, He grew; and this Immaculate woman had to endure many sorrows, and yet many joys.  One of her greatest joys was that of having her husband beside her, joined in the family and rearing a Child In prayer and with love.”  (GTF, Mar. 8, 2006)

“Look to this most precious, Immaculate Virgin, Mother of your Savior, and there you shall see no guile, and that as she grew, Wisdom grew within her.  She gave all that she had and listened more intently, giving and giving in joy to Me.”  (GTF, Feb. 8, 2007)

When these mystical experiences began, initially with Gianna and several other young adults in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 1988, and then continued with Gianna alone in Emmitsburg, Maryland, in 1993, Our Lady first identified herself as "Our Lady of Joy."  Her call was one to love, to conversion, to purity, to joy and happiness, to forgiveness and freedom, to prayer and to peace:

“I am your Lady of Joy.  I bring you tidings of Love and Peace….Strive always to abandon yourself unconditionally to God, so that you will be able to love unconditionally.”  (Public OLOE, Nov. 3, 1993)

“I am your Mother of Joy….You are called to a life of purity, a life free of sin, a life filled with joy, happiness and peace….In prayer you will realize that Jesus loves you and is calling you not to sin, shame or guilt, but to freedom, joy, purity and forgiveness.”  (Public OLOE, Dec. 8, 1993)

"And you will have joy and gladness,

and He will be great in the sight of the Lord….

He will be filled with the Holy Spirit

even from His Mother's womb…."

(Lk 1:14-15)

And as that Mother of Joy, she brings us Joy Who is her Son.  She assures all of her children of His Presence with them, and of her role to always defend, protect, bless and direct all her children:

“I am your Mother of Joy who brings you the Joy of my Son, your Jesus, your Savior….He walks with you, and He is within you….He lives with you, and yet you are trying to seek Him.  This is because you are seeking your own idea of God, even though you have Him in reality….”  (Public OLOE, Mar. 24, 1994)

“…I bring you the Peace of my Son.  He is your Joy!  God created my soul pure and without sin.  He knew the great beauty that He was creating, so that my womb would be a tabernacle for my Son.  There in His Joy, He was nurtured; and He walked on this earth.  He lived as you live—human, yet Divine.  So He desires you to be His eyes, His ears and His mouth.  Treat others as He would treat them….You can be all of Who He is.  He is still here!  He is always in your midst….It is my joy to be your Mother!  I will always defend you, protect you and continually bless you, as I direct you on the path to His Kingdom for all eternity.  Be happy, joy-filled children; and know how much God loves you!”  (Private OLOE, Aug. 22, 2007)  “I will dress you in the finest robes and cover you with a healing balm of peace, serenity, joyfulness, charity and good will.  In the end, you will have prosperity, wisdom and knowledge; you will know good from evil; and you will be a light that draws many to you because they will see what you have and desire your assistance.  How blessed you are because you love God!”  (Private OLOE, July 4, 2009)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg asks for our confidence, shares her gratitude, offers herself as an example, and expresses her own joy in the role the Father has given her as the dispenser of all graces and as our advocate at the Foot of the Cross:

“I ask you to have confidence in me, your Mother of Joy….The loving tenderness of God has deigned that I be the dispenser of all graces….I will not fail you, for I am your Mother leading you to my Son.  I desire you to be perfect in God’s Love….The abyss of all blessings is awaiting you in His Love.  I bless you, little ones, and take your petitions to my Son’s Most Sacred Heart, where Joy, Mercy and Charity reside….”  (Public OLOE, Nov. 10, 1994)

“Thank you for housing me in your own hearts, allowing me to visit you with my Son, that your joy and exclamation can be, ‘How is it that the Mother of my Savior should come to me?’  Then you can share this with the world, and you shall.”  (Private OLOE, May 31, 2005)

“As a Mother, I am humbled and grateful to give you tidings of joy from my Son.   As a Mother, I am humbled to encourage you to persevere and to be strengthened.  As a Mother, I am humbled and am filled with great joy through your efforts and through the prayer that you give to my most Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart.”  (Private OLOE, June 12, 2005)

“What joy you bring to me your Mother as you come most humbly, giving all of yourselves at the Foot of the Cross to my beloved Son, your Savior.  That joy cannot be measured, the joy that I find in all of your little penances, your acts of kindness, and your detachments and selfless ways….It is my joy to belong to you.  The Joy that God the Father has given to you is a Joy that you live, as you give it back to Him in ways of love, in acts of charity, kindness, thoughtfulness, and in caring for one another.  Whether little or grand, it is all measured infinitely on a scale that cannot be measured by man because of God’s great and holy blessing and his acceptance of your ways.”  (Private OLOE, July 17, 2005)

“You can be like me, as I desire to be continually like my Son.  As you do this, you then also desire to be like my Son, the Ultimate Perfection; and you will experience a rejuvenation of joy and relaxation in Him, the One of Peace.”    (Private OLOE, June 2, 2004)

To love God requires knowing Him.  Our Lady invites us to meet Him in His Word, to be Jesus, to be little children of God, to find Him in all of creation; and she offers her desire that we be filled with Him so that our joy may be complete:

“To love God is to take delight in His Word….Take time to read and study Scripture….The Word of God is my delight.  He is the Word.  The Word of God should be our delight.  Is it?  Is Jesus your delight?

"Joy is knowing my Savior Jesus is with me always.  Joy is yours for those who desire to know Him.  Knowing Jesus is the first step to unconditional love and charity.”   (Public OLOE, Jan. 26, 1995)

“Be Jesus, little children, ‘Ipse Christus.’  You will find joy in all you do.  You will even find joy in suffering, self-denial and sorrow. You are little children of God….It is a wonderful joy to know you are a child of God….”   (Public OLOE, June 8, 1995)

“Find your joy in Jesus above all created things…..Find Joy in Jesus above all enjoyments, comforts, health, glory, power and above all knowledge….You will never be free from temptations in this life….Correct what you can with a loving action, and bear patiently the things which cannot be remedied….I desire you to be filled with Joy and that your Joy may be complete in Jesus….”  (Public OLOE, Nov. 16, 1995)

The Joy of Our Lady in the Holy Spirit

"The disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit."

(Acts 13:52)

As spouse of the Holy Spirit, Our Lady often joyfully serves as courier for the blessings of the Holy Trinity and the gifts of the Spirit.  Our Lady of Emmitsburg encourages all of her children to make good use of them and to cultivate them and to be grateful for them:

It is my joy to come to you and give you the blessings of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit….Know that the Holy Spirit will guide you in all of your daily activities and endeavors.  The most important thing that you can do is to continue to pray, to be humble, to study the Word of God and to remain faithful at all costs.  Regardless of all the other traumatic things happening in the world, whether they be physical, emotional or spiritual; whether those happenings be related to wars or personal hardships; leave all of those things to God.  Pray for peace and remain faithful….Faith is so pertinent to bring about change in the world.”  (Public OLOE, July 13, 2004)

“The greatest gift to receive from my Son is the gift of the Holy Spirit….He is with you now, at all times, forever, without end.  How wonderful, how glorious, how blessed are you, and welcomed to know, to love, to breathe and to live life in God!  You do not realize the great gift of life.  How precious it truly is!  Enjoy life to its fullest.  Be kind, be merciful and be joyful.  Help those who are less fortunate.  Give of yourself, and receive more….The Spirit and the virtues are all upon you.  Cultivate them; and use them wisely with prudence, with joy, and with vision and with childlike filial dependence.”  (Public OLOE, my 11, 2008)  “The Holy Spirit, through His gift of charity, gives you understanding and knowledge.  He enlightens you to rejoice in God.  He sanctifies you.  Those who live in the Holy Spirit live in gratitude for the graces received.”  (Public OLOE, May 26, 1994)

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,

so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

(Rom 15:13)
