Therefore, put your mind at ease and rest in My Love."

(I am your Jesus of Mercy, Vol IV, #44, July 30, 1992)

Part 1:  Jesus' "Fiat";  Mary's "Fiat";  Our "Fiat"

Part 2:  Total Surrender to the Divine Will

Part 3:  Total Abandonment to Divine Providence

(Compiled by Michael T. Sullivan, MD)

An understanding of the meaning of the word "fiat" will involve an exploration of several other concepts:  namely, surrender, abandonment, Divine Will, Divine Providence. The word "fiat" itself is derived from the Latin, a 3rd person singular subjunctive of the verb "fieri," meaning "let it be done."

We go to the Catholic Dictionary to define many of these terms:

To "surrender" is to yield to the power, control or possession of another upon compulsion or demand, or in the case of God, upon invitation.  While "abandonment" is a state of union of the soul with God by conformity to His Will, involving passive purification through trials and sufferings, together with desolation following upon the surrender of natural consolations.

"Divine Will" is the volition of God, which, like His knowledge, is purely and simply actual, and absolutely independent of all extra-divine things.  Since God is infinite, there is in His willing no transition from potency to act, no sequence of individual acts, but one single successionless act of willing.  His Will is actually identical with His Divine Essence.

"Divine Providence" is defined as God's all-wise plan for the universe; and the carrying out of His plan by His loving rule or governance, the eternal world plan and its fulfillment in time are together called Divine Providence.  It is infallibly certain because the ultimate purpose that God has for the universe will not fail; and it is immutable because God Himself cannot change.

It is in this arena of the Spirit that we will now explore these mystical gifts given to the world through Gianna Sullivan, the Words of God the Father, the Lessons of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Messages of Our Lady of Emmitsburg.

Part 1

Jesus'  "Fiat"

"For all Thy ways are prepared,

And in Thy providence thou has placed thy judgments."

(Jth 9:5)

In His first "Words" that were given to the world through Gianna Sullivan on Trinity Sunday, 2005, God the Father reviewed with humanity His Plan:

"…From the inception of time the Triune God, Father, Son & Holy Spirit, the Holy Trinity, gathered together.  In this meeting Creation unfolded; and the Eyes of this Triune Godhead, the Father,  released a plan of Goodness and Joy, filled with all the good works that were to unfold in this Creation.  However, man went against My Word.  Man needed to repent and atone for sin.  From the inception of this most beautiful plan of the Holy Trinity, it was determined that My Son would later come in human flesh to redeem the world which, created by My Hands, would come back to Me…."  (GTF, given on Trinity Sunday, May 22, 2005, for release on Dec. 8, 2005)

"…I sent My Son, your Savior Jesus, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, Who agreed to humble Himself and to come and be born in the womb of a Virgin.  He agreed to become Flesh and to suffer for you so that all of the children of humanity would know that their sins were forgiven through His one Redemptive Act of salvation….”  (GTF, July 8, 2006)

“…Through His pain and suffering, His condemnation by the three judges (Caiaphas, Herod & Pilate), and His betrayal by three witnesses (Judas, Peter & the bad thief), He suffered torment in anguish and despair.  He cried out on the Cross, 'Father, why have You forsaken Me?” (Mt 27:46); and before His last breath, ‘It is consummated' (Jn 19:30); and in surrendering, ‘Into Thy Hands I commend My Spirit.’  (Lk 23:46)”  (GTF, Mar. 8, 2007)

"…There at the same time (its inception) was created the most beautiful, sinless Immaculate Soul, whose Heart would be pierced with a sword.  This sword would not only pierce her Heart, but also the hearts of those who would follow her.  She was always the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart who had dedicated her life to the Truth.  No woman has ever been created, nor shall ever be created, as pure and holy as this most Immaculate Virgin.  She now pleads on your behalf and has come to the Foot of the Throne of God.  She implores Our assistance and My intervention.  Now, for the sake and safety of humanity and through the prayers of this most pure creature, I come to you with “Words” of freedom….”  (GTF, Dec. 8, 2005)

Just as the Church teaches that the only Son was begotten of the Father, so too was the Word of God and His 'fiat' in the Divine Plan.  Our Lady of Emmitsburg speaks so reverently about her Son's 'fiat,' inviting unity, surrender and thanksgiving:

"…Do not hesitate even for one instant to unite yourself to the Divine Will of your Creator through the 'fiat' of My Son….Abandon yourself to His Will.  I recommend that in all you do, enclose everything in the eternal 'fiat'.  This is the way you will gain strength in your sufferings and also be inseparable from me and my Son…."  (Public OLOE, Aug. 29, 1996)  "…He bore the suffering of the flesh so that you would be comforted.  He shed tears for you and endured bitter scoffing, abandonment and terrible agony for you.  He labored and died poor for your salvation…."  (Public OLOE, Dec. 18, 1997)

"…Jesus will teach you how to surrender to the Father.  It was the Father who sent Jesus to you so that He would be known, honored and loved by all people.  He created you for Himself, and you belong to Him….He is a tender and kind Father, and He will protect you wherever you are.  Open your hearts, children, and place them in the Hands of Jesus…."  (Public OLOE, Mar. 20, 1997)

"…I bring blessings to you in thanksgiving for the great gift of my Son's 'fiat' to God the Father, Who in a most humble way gave my Son to you for our redemption and salvation…."  (Private OLOE, April 4, 2010)

Over 2000 years during the Passion of Jesus, our God, the suffering servant, out of Love for His creatures, was willing to be tortured and die for our salvation.  The mental anguish, the sorrow, the loneliness, the temptation of failing to save everyone, the fear of conviction all were compounded with the sheer physical torture, and preceded  the final element of His Passion:  His abandonment.  In His Lessons Our Lord Jesus Christ speaks of His own apparent abandonment by the Father.

"…The Son of Man was to be convicted!  In the garden, how I prayed that if that moment could pass by; allowing but what the Father's Will would be, I would accept it!  My Father came to Me, and, in Our Oneness, shared His Love for His people, which was My Love!  The Love, being so great, could only result in the salvation of his people through the sacrifice of His Son.  The Love conflicted with the fear, surpassed it, and comforted Me into a state of being of surrender.  The moment was at hand when the Son of Man would sacrifice Himself for mankind, whether mankind was ready for salvation or not!  It was My total surrendering to this state of being which led to the final element of My Passion:  My abandonment.

"My abandonment consisted of a void of nothingness, emotionlessness and emptiness.  My weariness increased to the point of exhaustion.  Did My Father abandon Me in My last moments of breath?  I was all alone, yet no one to understand My sacrifice and to accept salvation.   It was not My Wounds which led to My death.   It was sheer exhaustion which asphyxiated Me by suffocation.   I was too weak to hold My head up any longer.  It was with those words, 'Into Your Hands I commend My Spirit,' that man would then realize what he had done.  The Son of Man would die, only to raise up His Kingdom in three days…"  (JOM, Vol II, #53, Mar. 30, 1990)

In a further explanation, Our Lord expands on the role of trust along one's spiritual journey.  In the world in which we live, it is so very hard to trust so many of the people in our lives or those who have influence and/or control over various aspects of our lives.  This lack of trust can be not only a distraction, but even a major obstacle in our spiritual growth. However, just as Jesus put all His trust in His Father, so too He invites us to place all of our trust in Him, Our Lord and Savior.  By trusting totally in His Love, we are then able to trust ourselves and others:

"…It is a challenge when you surrender your control to Me, but not a loss to you.  Your suffering will only be fruitful and rewarding….The desert flowers bloom when your will no longer exerts energy to control or distract you from attentiveness to My Will…The struggle of failure and success no longer preoccupies your journey of progression.  You are now ready to open up like a flower to receive My merciful Love and the compassion of healing graces…..When you surrender to Me totally, you will be trusting in My Love totally because total surrender involves trusting in My Love….Only when you trust in Me totally, can you trust others and respect them in dignity in My Love.  I trusted in My Father because of Our Oneness.  Trust in Me in our oneness!  Do not be afraid.  Know of My Love, and know you will never be left alone.  My Father was always with Me, even as I suffered the abandonment of your life.  Why, then would I ever leave you alone?  I would not!  I am true in My fidelity to you, and I am one with you.  That is why I broke Myself for you, that you would never suffer without Me in your brokenness!"  (JOM, Vol IV, #39, July 25, 1992)  "I bleed for you from My Wounds when you are under attack from the evil one.  My Blood is your salvation, and I joyfully suffer for you when you are suffering; for we are united in My Father's Oneness….Suffering, when offered to My Father for merciless sinners, is the most potent offering in penance.  You submerge yourself into My abandonment, and salvation results through My Mercy.  It brings eternal glory to your souls…."  (JOM, Vol II, #14, Oct. 26, 1989)

"…Have mercy on us, because Thou art good,

or punish our iniquities by chastising us Thyself,

and deliver not them that trust in thee to a people that know not Thee…."

(Jth 7:20)

Mary's "Fiat"

"…For He has looked upon the lowliness of His handmaid;

for behold, from now on all nations shall call me blessed.

The Mighty One has done great things for me…."

(Lk 1:48-49

Yes, Mary holds the unique place in salvation history, being the daughter of the Father, the Mother of the Son, and the spouse of the Holy Spirit.    Our Heavenly Father wastes no words in affirming the importance of her role:

"…Truly there is a lack of wisdom and a lack of humility on your part for not being able to see with the eyes of the heart the gift that has been handed to you.  Here you have the treasure of my Son's Mother who pleads your cause on your behalf, determined that all might be brought safely and freely to eternal rest.  Look to her and she will plead your cause, because in her humility, she knows the gift of Life.  (GTF, Jan. 8, 2006)

“O' how fortunate you are, children of humanity, to have been given such a treasure who so often is taken for granted, overlooked, and dismissed with indifference and ingratitude.  How fortunate you are for her 'fiat'!  (GTF, Jan 8, 2006)  "She was created from My Hand.  This soul's 'fiat' came into the world, and she devoutly gave her undivided attention with songs of prayer and praise and exclamation to 'Abba', knowing that good fruit was about to unfold.  This woman deemed Immaculate and pure gave a 'fiat' of her own free will to live for all people for one purpose, that being to present to the world the Truth of God.  Within her womb immaculately came the Truth….She will continue to lay her life down unto death for you, only so that you may know fully the Truth of God, my Son, the Second person of the Holy Trinity, born through her womb.  The Truth has to be made known."  (GTF, Mar. 8, 2006)

"Look to your most wonderful intercessor, the spouse of the Holy Spirit, who bore the Most Precious One of God.  The gift of Life is given to you for all eternity by means of the woman whose 'fiat', sorrow and suffering are greater than what the mind can comprehend.  United to God and her Son, she is inseparable in suffering from Him Who redeemed the world. She, who in silence gave to the world, is your hope; and He is your salvation!”  (GTF, Oct. 8, 2008)

On only one occasion in His Lessons to the world does Our Lord Himself talk about the 'fiat' of His Mother, however it is quite inspiring to behold as He highlights her characteristic "littleness" and "faithfulness":

"…I am looking for those who desire to be 'little' children and for those who will guard My Word through faithfulness, love in action, and complete satisfaction in surrendering to Divine Providence.  Very few of My people have chosen this route; yet, My Mother, your Mother of the living, chose this simple little Way, and her power exceeds that of all creatures….Her consciousness did not gain her power through her intellect, but her unconscious union with the spirit in Love and faithfulness gained her title of 'Queenship' over mankind.  Her feminine simplicity, her 'fiat', and her fidelity to God were the bonds of unity and bridge of life for all of mankind.  In her resided the purity of all life, and through her 'fiat' came salvation for all mankind…."  (JOM, Vol V, #16, Sept. 9, 1995)

Our Lady of Emmitsburg too very infrequently speaks about her own 'fiat', and she does so in the context of a lesson about salvation history:  The Father's Plan, Adam and Eve, her own parents, her own free will, her Son Jesus, and the workings of the Holy Spirit in her, both before and after the Incarnation of Jesus:

"…There was once a time when humanity was corrupted and was then brought back to the Father through the One Salvific Act of my Son.  That was the corruption that began with Adam and Eve, but was later turned into a new tomorrow through my 'fiat' and the grace of the Holy Trinity which was bestowed upon humanity….You do not yet have the vision of tomorrow, for the new tomorrow is great…."  (Private OLOE, May 30, 2005)

"…My parents loved one another, and because of them, I was able to say 'yes'.  Even being born with an Immaculate Heart, I still had a free will to say 'yes.'  I still experienced every emotion; and I could have indeed, if I so desired, said 'no.' But my 'fiat' was enveloped within the Love of God, because I desired holiness; and your 'fiat' can also be as mine…."  (Private OLOE, Sept. 7, 2010)  "…God in His Love instructed my soul and spoke to me in the middle of the silence and darkness of the world.  There I surrendered in the trust and poverty of a child.  I did not know the land I would travel or the route.  I had only one desire, that of reaching the summit of Love…."  (Pubic OLOE, Dec. 16, 1999)  "…Your Savior is my Son; and God the Father has deemed me, in my humility and graciousness and 'fiat' to be without sin so that through my blood His Son could be born human and without sin…."  (Private OLOE, Sept. 17, 2009)  "…The gift of the Holy Spirit allows this; and through the Holy Spirit, Life is created.  As I was conceived without sin, Life within me began through my 'fiat.'  (Private OLOE, Dec. 9, 2009)  "…I gave my 'fiat' and the Holy Spirit guided me, always leading me, always protecting me, always enlightening me.  How beautiful indeed!"  (Private OLOE, Mar. 31, 2008)

Our Lady was not only given to humanity as a Mother through the action of her Son on the Cross, but also as a model to imitate her 'fiat' as a child of God.  The Eternal Father Himself likens what we can accomplish through our own "fiat" to what She accomplished through hers:

“I look down upon you in graciousness because of this great Queen, a most pure and holy servant of the Throne of God, Immaculate in all ways, who looks only to cleanse you, to purify you, and to bring you to the Throne….It would behoove you to look with graciousness, humility and with all due respect to her in thanksgiving that she, through her 'fiat' has been moved to graciously receive the Word of God in her womb….All has come because of her one 'fiat.'  All can join in this 'fiat.'  You can say 'yes' as this pure virgin said ‘yes.'  You are graced and can accomplish all that was offered to her through your free will….”  (GTF, May 8, 2006)

In language similar to the Biblical description (Lk 1:35) of the Annunciation to Our Lady of the Incarnation of her Son and her own "fiat," she teaches her children of a similar birth of her Son in each of us that can occur with our own "yes" to God:

"…You also, children, are invited to walk the passage of Love, seen though it may be veiled with silence and little consolation.  Surrender in hope and watch.  Your Jesus will turn your sorrow and darkness into joy, and a luminous light will dawn tomorrow.  Wait in anticipation and adore Him.  Walk where He leads you with the trust and poverty of a child.  The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you!  The Holy Child to be born will be called Son of God!  He is your God, children, He is your Jesus, your Savior; and nothing will be impossible, for He Is God.  Reach out to Him.  Say 'yes' to His Will and entrust your lives to Him.  He will lead you through the darkness into the Light, through the cold and wind to warmth and to a safe harbor, a destiny filled with Love.  There is hope for you, little children; there is hope." (Public OLOE, Dec. 16, 1999)

With Our Lady's "fiat" followed obedience, charity, silence and continuous praise and thanksgiving.  These provided her the protection often needed to accomplish God's Will, and will do the same for us:

"…Because of my total 'fiat,' obedience, charity and silence, God has been able to help you.  The mystical silence is one the world, as you know it, may not understand; but know that it is real and it is true…."  (Private OLOE, April 1, 2008)

"…As you become more grateful and give more praise to my Son, which by right belongs to Him, then the ailments of your souls are lifted, because they no longer dwell only within yourselves but they dwell in Him….The more fully you live your lives in my Son and strive to be all that you have been created to be, then all the more shall holiness be your fruit and great glory shall abound in you.  Ponder my purity and what I have given you by bearing the Word in my womb.  My 'fiat' and my continuous joy in my God have protected me, just as your 'fiat' and continuous praise to my Son will protect you…."  (Public OLOE, Aug. 22, 2003)

As we have often been taught and most likely believe, there is not a shortage of "calls" in God's Plan; however, it would certainly appear that there is a shortage of responses.  But to those who have given their "yes" and actually try to live that "yes," Our Lady of Emmitsburg promises that "your 'fiat' is magnified and your spirit rejoices in God your Savior," in words taken from her own "Magnificat" to her cousin Elizabeth (Lk 1:46):

"In life, in the beginning, God gave me an opportunity; and through my 'fiat,' I said 'yes.'  In today's world, many of my children are also given the same opportunity.  In their 'fiat' they say 'yes.'  So with this they are most blessed because they have buffeted the seriousness of the evil waves trying to crash them apart…."  (Private OLOE, Dec. 7, 2008) "…Many are called, but few express a 'fiat' as you do.  My 'fiat' continues, for my Heart cannot rest until all are gathered and directed to God…."  (Private OLOE, Jan. 14, 2006)

"…I love all of you.  You are mine; and just as in the 'fiat' that I gave to God, so too you give yours to Him.  For this I am grateful…."  (Private OLOE, Feb. 12, 2006)  "…The world is no longer the same, simply because a few people have said 'yes.'  You have said 'yes,' and when you do not doubt, your 'fiat' is magnified and your spirit rejoices in God your Savior…."  (Private OLOE, Dec. 19, 2003)  "…Even though you are only a few, the few you are, are the ones making a difference.  You are now making a new framework for this entire world and for all the world this open book, a presence to which all can come freely without reservation, here at the Center of my Immaculate Heart.  If you had not done this, as if I had not given my 'fiat,' then there would be no Center (of my Immaculate Heart) , nor would your Savior have come forth.  Thank you!"  (Private OLOE, Feb. 27, 2006)

"How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life.

And those who find it are few."

(Mt 7:14)

Our "Fiat"

"Every 'fiat' and every soul can change the world.

And yet, every doubt and every rejection,

because of free will, can also change the world."

 (Private OLOE, Feb. 2, 2008)

In hundreds of messages from Our Lady of Emmitsburg over the years, she has so frequently ended with the words, "Thank you for responding to my call."   She continually reinforces the importance of each of us in God's Plan of salvation:

"I am His humble poor servant awaiting His Coming, as are you….All my promises shall be fulfilled because they come from my Son.  It is the way in which things will unfold that continues to be related to free will….The beauty is in the dedication of your response to my call….How blessed you are that your 'fiat' joins that of mine."  (Private OLOE, Dec. 14, 2003)

"We will always be together because you have lived a "fiat," not only said it, not only agreed to it.  You have lived and breathed the 'fiat,' the pain, the sorrow, the joy and the blessing.  You know, yes, you know that God has a great Plan and His Plan is new, everlasting, and all-encompassing.  It involves you and all of humanity; and no one will be left out."  (Private OLOE, Dec. 8, 2005

Being an honest Mother with her children, Our Lady of Emmitsburg not only encourages us to give that "fiat," but she does not diminish the fact that it will come with a price.  However, that price will come with a grace, and that grace can change the world by dressing not only Our Lord's Wounds, but the wounds of those in need:

"Little ones, all of you can do what Jesus is calling you to do.  It simply starts with a 'yes'….Let all the works that you do and all you feel stem from your 'fiat' to My Son.  Make your 'yes' a firm 'yes', and do not take it back…."  (Public OLOE, Nov. 4, 1999)  "(Once) you have given your 'fiat' to Him, and in that 'fiat' you have given your total 'yes' in surrendering unconditionally and with filial confidence; doing this comes with a price, that being that your self-image and your own personal desires must be mortified so that my Son can be glorified."  (Private OLOE, June 18, 2003

"You know nothing can happen without God's grace; but once the 'fiat' is said, the 'yes,' then the grace comes."  (Private OLOE, July 29, 2008)  "As you say 'yes' in your 'fiat,' changes in the world will happen; and all of humanity will never forget this mission and that this is the Center of my Immaculate Heart….For every yes, for every day, for every prayer is another rose in my most Immaculate Heart.  There they become a soothing balm which is placed on my Son's Wounds and which He shall never forget…."  (Private OLOE, June 19, 2003)  "You have dressed the wounds of those in need with the balm of God's Love.  Your 'fiat' dresses my Son's Wounds with the balm of your love."  (Private OLOE, April 23, 2009)

How can all of this be?  Can we be sure?  Do we understand?  Our Lady explains that it all comes down to a gift--a gift that she received, a gift that we too have been given through our Baptism:

"Look how far that 'yes' has brought you, you and all of your beloved ones, both friends and family….Why have you been so successful in your 'fiat'Faith!  You believe what was asked of you and what you were told would come true….You gave your 'fiat' to God , and look at the immeasurable outcome of graces which continue to flow.  What would have happened if you had not said 'yes'?  What would have happened if I had not said 'yes'?  Do you not see that you and I and my Son are all part of a great Plan for all the children of the world?"  (Private OLOE, Dec. 19, 2005)

It is important that you stand for faith.  The gift of faith is precious, it's priceless, it's indescribable, because it alone can develop into an explosion of new Light within you through the grace and through your free will.  You have done this.  You continue to do this….Because of your free will, you can say 'yes' and you can say 'no'; but you have said 'yes.'  And no matter how many people think that you are corrupt or diabolical or dishonest or planning to deceive, God knows and sees the truth; for He is the Truth!  Everyone must answer to God; and He says, "Tell them Who sent you.  Tell them I Am sent you."  (Private OLOE, Jan. 31, 2009)

Not all of God's children are given the same measure of the gift of faith, just as all are not given the same intellectual or athletic ability.  They are all gifts.  However, somehow bound in that mystery of being created in the image and likeness of God, each of us, at some time in our lives, even if that may be at our last dying breath, is given the opportunity to make our "fiat," to give our "yes" to God.  But Our Lady of Emmitsburg does warn that if through our free will, these opportunities are neglected or shunned, our ability to respond in those critical moments may be significantly hindered:

"Those of all faiths who are chosen by God because they have given their 'fiat,' are well taken care of.  Those, who do not take seriously my words and who have not followed through, and those who have persecuted my Son through mockery of me, will be revealed in the essence of Light; and they will see what they could have had.

"As you know, I will always extend an opportunity to change; and my Son in His most merciful Love will always accept, even to one's last breath, a 'yes.'  My point to you, however, is that by the time they reach this circumstance, their eyes are clouded, their minds confused, their hearts hardened, and their will wrapped in torment by pillars of pride."  (Private OLOE, Sept. 25, 2008)

The last several years have seen a diminished zeal among many of the faithful in their response to Our Lady's call, both in Emmitsburg and throughout the world.  There has been much of what many have called "backsliding" in the faith and in faithfulness to her message.  Certainly the many events in the world should have given credence to so many of Our Lady's prophecies; yet, the world appears to many to be blind and bound.  Then, there is the constant battle against and temptation toward impatience, as we wait for all that has been promised to be fulfilled.  To all of these obstacles, Our Lady encourages her children to continue to trust, to wait, and to daily renew their "fiat":

"Trust and wait!  Trust and wait!…You are mine!  You have said 'yes' and your 'fiat' will prove fruitful….All will know historically of the few who have committed their lives in trusting, hoping and giving of themselves totally, unconditionally and patiently, awaiting in all humility for God's Hand and works to unfold, so that the world may live in peace."  (Private OLOE, June 13, 2007)

"You will see at some point, perhaps not now, what good you have done because you have responded to God in your 'fiat,' and what good you will do….You have broken ties, and you have left many things behind in your 'fiat.'  Certainly, at some point, all will be rewarded--not for what you do, but for what you have relinquished.  You see:  God needs those who will give anything, even their lives, knowing that life is nothing without Him….So when you are low and alone, no one can soothe your pain.  No one could soothe mine.  When you give a 'fiat' unconditionally, that is what it is meant to be.  For you never know, in good or bad times, the response you will get.  You flow with the wind, and you go where the Word of God is.  It doesn't matter what people say or what people do.  They are not the Judge.  What is important is your 'fiat,' your commitment, and most importantly, your fervent love for my Son."  (Private OLOE, Aug. 6, 2008)

That gift of being a child of God is something we should celebrate, but it requires that we never let go in order to gain the fruits of that gift.  Our Lady of Emmitsburg expresses her gratitude to all of her children who have said "yes":

"Rejoice that you belong to God, and never let go of that treasure….For your "fiat" and unconditional surrendering will gain you the knowledge and the wisdom to live continuously in His Most Divine Will through His Grace."  (Private OLOE, Jan. 25, 2006)  "Thank you for saying 'yes' when you knew it certainly would have been far easier to say 'no'…."  (Private OLOE, Jan. 31, 2009)

"Thou hast held me by my right hand;

and by Thy will thou has conducted me,

and with Thy glory thou hast received me."

(Ps 72:24)
