The Mysteries of the End Times Understanding 'Similar expressions'

(Save this invaluable reference material!)

The Archdiocesan of Baltimore
Commission of Enquiry

(reported September 27, 2002)

"48. ...Yet, some of the messages derived from presumed apparitions (including those from Our Lady of Emmitsburg to Gianna Sullivan) seem to be apocalyptic forebodings, the prediction of forthcoming catastrophic events, such as the death of all the fish in the world. We find this discrepancy disconcerting.... Similar expressions are not the way for Christ’s message of peace and love to be transmitted."

Our Lady of Emmitsburg to the World - February 17, 2000

"Do not be pompous, self-righteous children any longer. Your vision is short-sighted and narrow. Open your hearts and your minds to God’s gift to you, for my days of visitations are numbered to my Son’s messengers across the world. If the world continues to ignore the importance of prayer and moral ethics and does not restore them to their rightful place, the world will suffer a tragedy of a world war as never witnessed before in history." (OLOE Public 02-17-00)

But What Does the Bible Say?

It would be difficult for many of the faithful to call the words of above message from Our Lady of Emmitsburg “doom and gloom,” and even more inaccurate to label them as “end of the world prophesy,” and those who believe them to be true as “doomsday cultists.” Unfortunately that is what has been done.

Still others may chide that if it is not in the Bible, Sacred Scripture, it cannot be from God. However, all may want to pray and ponder the words of the Prophet Zechariah:

“In all the land,” says the Lord, “two-thirds of them shall be cut off and perish, and one-third shall be left. I will bring the one-third through fire, and I will refine them as silver is refined, and I will test them as gold is tested. They shall call upon my name, and I will hear them.” (Zech 13:8-9)

Then in the second letter ofSt. Peter, in contrasting the time of Noah with some future times, he writes:

"By water the world was then destroyed by the deluge. The present heavens and earth are reserved for fire; they are kept for the day of judgment, the day when godless men would be destroyed." (2 Peter 3:7)

And St. Mark in his Gospel further relates:

"Nation will rise against nation, one kingdom against another. There would be famine and pestilence and earthquakes in many places.... Those times will be more distressful than any between God’s work of creation and now, and for all time to come.... Immediately after the stress of that period, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not shed her light, stars will fall from the sky, and the hosts of heaven will be shaken loose." (Mark 13:8-25)

And What Does the Church Say?

Pope John XXIII refers to the purpose of authentic private revelation in his 1959 address as the close of the Marian Year (February 18, 1959):

"The Roman Pontiffs.... also have the duty, when after mature examination, they deem necessary for the common good of bringing to the attention of the faithful those supernatural lights which it pleases God to dispense freely to certain privileged souls, not for the purpose of presenting new doctrines, but rather to guide us in our conduct."

In Lumen Gentium, (Vatican II, Section 12), the Council Fathers urged the faithful to be open and attentive to the ways in which the Holy Spirit continues to guide the Church, including private revelations. We hear:

"Whether these charisms be very remarkable or more simple and widely diffused, they are to be received with thanksgiving and consolation since they are fitting and useful for the needs of the Church. Extraordinary gifts are not to be rashly desired, nor is it from them that the fruits of apostolic labor are to be presumptuously expected. Those who have charge over the Church should judge the genuineness and proper use of these gifts through their office, not indeed to extinguish the Spirit, but to test all things and hold fast to what is good." (cf. Thessalonians 5:12,19-21)

Pope Benedict XVI, in his commentary on the Third Secret of Fatima in June, 2000, said that private revelation can be a genuine help in understanding the Gospel and living it better at a particular moment in time,

"...therefore it should not be disregarded. It is a help which is offered, but which one is not obliged to use."

And, from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

"Throughout the ages, there have been so-called ‘private revelations,’ some of which have been recognized by the authority of the Church. They do not belong, however, to the deposit of the faith. It is not their role to improve or complete Christ’s definitive Revelation, but to help live more fully by it in a certain period of history." (CCC, Ch. 2, III, 67)

And What Has the Church Approved?

The Foundation newsletters have further summarized the prophecies and the Church’s responses to several apparitions of Our Lady throughout the world. These have demonstrated how many times both Our Lord and Our Lady have used “apocalyptic forebodings” in times of dire need for change, and that these in no way have negated or contradicted “Christ’s message of peace and love” as was implied by the Archdiocese of Baltimore Commission of Enquiry in response to Our Lady of Emmitsburg as well as Our Lord’s messages and lessons to the world through Gianna Talone Sullivan from 1988 to the present.

Special Edition for the “Decisive” Times Ahead

In 2009 and 2010 the Foundation has provided a special edition enewsletter each June 30, to highlight the messages from the approved apparitions of Our Lady in the Church and how they are complemented by what God the Father through His own “Words, Our Lord Jesus Christ through His Lessons, and Our Lady of Emmitsburg through her Messages to the world through Gianna Sullivan, have said here in Emmitsburg, at the Center of Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart. In addition, pertinent books which have dealt with many of the same “The End of This Era” topics have been included. To this collection we add this year a new section on Our Lady of Good Success (1641, Quito, Equador); and books by Dr. Kevin Bowring, "The Secrets, the Chastisement & the Triumph"; and "The Final Confrontation" by singer/evangelist Mark Mallett. This way, all those who so desire it, will have a quick reference to tools of evangelization for what the future is to bring humanity. The following 13 news items provide details about the private revelations and books listed below:

Our Lady of Good Success

Quito, Ecuador 1641 - Our Lady of Good Success

Approved by the Bishop Salvador de Ribera, February 2, 1611

Approval reaffirmed, Archbishop Carlos Maria, July 32, 1941

first-born child to a family in the province of Viscaya, Spain in 1563, Mariana Francisca received her first mystical apparitions of Our Lady at age 9 on the day of her First Communion. At age 13 she left for Ecuador with her aunt to found a branch of the Order of the Immaculate Conception in Quito, Ecuador. In 1582, while Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres (Francisca) was praying before the Blessed Sacrament, for the first time she was given to see the heresy, blasphemy, and impurity that would inundate the world as punishment in the 20th century.

The most important prophecies of Our Lady of Good Success, however, spoke of the worldwide crises in the Church and society that would begin in the 19th century and extend throughout the 20th century. During that time, Our Lady warned that there would be an almost total corruption of customs, and Satan would rule almost completely by means of the Masonic sects. In the Catholic Church the Sacraments would be profaned and abused, and the light of Faith would be almost completely extinguished in souls. Truly religious souls would be reduced to a small number and many vocations would perish. Great impurity would reign and people would be without any care for spiritual matters.

Our Lady then promised that the souls who would remain faithful in those difficult times would need great strength of will, constancy, valor and confidence in God. Moments would come when everything would seem to be lost and paralyzed, but then would be the moment, she promised, of the “happy beginning of the complete restoration.”… “My hour will arrive when I, in an amazing manner, will overthrow proud Satan, crushing him under my feet, chaining him in the infernal abyss, leaving the Church and the land free of this cruel tyranny.”

LaSalette, France

LaSalette, France 1846 - Appariton to Melanie Calvat

“The Church would be severely attacked and the monster (communism) would be unleashed at the end of the Nineteenth or beginning of the Twentieth Century. Rome will lose faith and become the seat of Antichrist, and the Church will be in eclipse. Many chastisements are predicted, the Antichrist will be defeated, fire will purge the earth and consume all the work of mens's pride, and all will be renewed.” LaSalette was approved by the Church in 1851.

Fatima, Portugal

Fatima, Portugal, 1917 - The Third Apparition of Our Lady

“If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, several nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Imaculate Heart will Triumph.” Fatima was approved by the Church in October, 1930.

The Third Apparition of Fatima...

Our Lady of All Nations

Amsterdam, the Netherlands 1945-59 -Our Lady of All Nations

Mary, the Mother of Jesus, allegedly appeared as Our Lady of All Nations to visionary Ida Pearlman during the years of 1945-1959. On May 31, 2002, Bishop Jozef Punt of the Diocese of Haarlem/Amsterdam in the Netherlands, stated, "...In light and virtue of all these recommendations, testimonies, and developments, and in pondering all this in prayer and theological reflection, I have come to the conclusion that the apparitions of the Lady of All Nations in Amsterdam consist of a supernatural origin....”

In her 45th message (March 20, 1953) to Ida Pearlman, Our Lady said:

“In order to prove that I am the Lady of All Nations, I said: Great powers will fall; politico-economic struggle will arise; watch out for the false prophets; pay attention to the meteors; there will be disasters; there will be natural disasters; we are facing great decisions; we are facing heavy pressure.”

Akita, Japan

Akita, Japan - The Third & Last Message to Sr. Agnes Sasagawa, October 12, 1973

“…if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign (the Cross) left by my Son.” The Akita events and messages were prounounced as reliable and worthy of by belief by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, Prefect, Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Vatican City, June, 1988, after Most Rev. John Ito, Bishop of Niigata, Japan, after years of extensive investigation declared the events to be of supernatural origin in April, 1984.

Our Lady of Akita...

Kibeho, Rwanda

Kibeho, Rwanda - The The Message of Our Lady of Sorrows & Immaculee Ilibagiza

After two study commissions of doctors and theologians set up by the local Bishop, the study of these apparitions of Our Lady led to their approval on June 29, 2001. Bishop Augustin Misago of Gikongoro published a declaration concerning the definitive judgment on the apparitions of Kibeho, Rwanda.... All the Catholic bishops of Rwanda, with the Apostolic Nuncio of Kigali, were present... The Bishop declared: “Yes, the Virgin Mary appeared at Kibeho on November 28, 1981, and in the months that followed. There are more reasons to believe in the Apparitions than to deny them.... The Apparitions of Kibeho are now officially recognized... The name given to the Marian sanctuary at Kibeho is: ‘Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows’."

One of the key reasons that brought the competent ecclesiastical authorities to recognize the Apparitions of Kibeho as authentic was the anticipated vision of the Rwanda genocide that occurred 12 years later, in 1994. On August 19, 1982, the seers saw “a river of blood, people who were killing each other, abandoned corpses with no one to bury them, a tree all in flames, bodies without their heads.” During the 1994 civil war an estimated 500,000 to 1 million people were killed, many beheaded by machetes and dumped into the Kagea River (river of blood).

But the warnings of the Blessed Virgin Mary were not just for Africa. ...“When I tell you this, I am not addressing myself strictly to you, child, but I am making this appeal to the world,” the Virgin told the seer Marie-Clare Mukangango in March, 1982. The Virgin described the world as in revolt against God, the world “is on the edge of catastrophe."

Messages of Our Lady of Sorrows in Kibeho, Rwanda...

Immaculee Ilibagiza, In her first book entitled "Left to Tell", tells the faith-filled story of her heroic survival in the midst of the terrible genocide in Rwanda in 1994. In the acknowledgments of that book, she writes to the Blessed Virgin Mary:

"To the Holy Mother: I feel you with me always. Words can’t convey the depth of my gratitude for your love and care. Keep my heart close to yours, Mother - you make me whole, and I will love you forever. Thank you for appearing in Kibeho to warn us of the danger ahead... if only we’d listened to you!"

So where, besides Emmitsburg, has the world heard about 'two suns'? "The visionary Agnes was having an apparition of Jesus when everybody in the crowd started looking up at the sky....When I looked up, I thought I'd gone crazy. I blinked and rubbed my eyes, then blinked and rubbed again...the sun really was dancing. It moved back and forth as though God Himself were tossing it from one hand to the other. And then another sun emerged from the dancing light; there were two suns in the sky! They spun in circles of opposite direction: one spun clockwise and the other counterclockwise, but then they spun into each other, reuniting as a single sun." (Ilibagiza, Immaculee, OUR LADY OF KIBEHO, Hay House, USA, November, 2008, pp. 126-127)

Betania, Venezuela

Betania, Venezuela - 1976-1990 The Apparitions of Our Lady Approved by the Roman Catholic Church 1987

In a series of 31 public apparitions of Our Lady, as Reconciler of All People, as well as in numerous prophecies given to mystic and stigmatist Maria Esperanza Bianchini, the Mother of Jesus came to Venezuela to:

"...reconcile them, to seek them out, to give them faith, which has disappeared in the noise and din of an atomic awakening which is at the point of bursting out. My message is of faith, love and hope. More than anything, it brings reconciliation between people and nations. It is the only thing that can save this century from war and eternal death...If a change does not come and a conversion of life, one will perish under fire, war and death." (1984)

The Catholic Church’s evaluation of the apparitions, prophecies, mystical lights, beautiful aromas and healings that took place at Betania was recorded in 1987, after more than ten years of investigation. Bishop Pio Bello Ricardo stated:

"After having studied repeatedly the apparitions of the Most Holy Virgin in Betania, and having begged the Lord earnestly for spiritual discernment, I declare that in my judgement said apparitions are authentic and have a supernatural character. I therefore approve, officially, that the site where the apparitions have occurred be considered as sacred....” (November 21, 1987)

The following are excerpts from a few of the 31 public apparitions that include some aspects of Our Lady’s message, her prophecies and her warnings. In these, Our Lady’s messages to Maria, and in her archive of prophecies which follow, God continues to warn His children for the sake of not losing them. That “apocalyptical” tone, however, continues to be a major obstacle for many Church hierarchy, especially in the United States of America, even in spite of what seems to be going on all around the world at this very moment in time!

San Nicholas, Argentina

San Nicholas, Argentina The Apparitions of Our Lady of the Rosary

Speaking of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Gladys Quiroga de Motta in San Nicholas, Argentina, from 1983-1990, Bishop Domingo Salvador Castagna, the Ordinary of the Diocese, said on July 25, 1990, “Undoubtedly this event of grace will continue to grow; it has proved its authenticity by its spiritual fruits”; and subsequently on November 14, 1990, he issued an edict comprising an “Imprimatur” for the publication of the Spanish edition of the Messages of Our Lady to Gladys de Motta.

Earlier, On September 25, 1983, just 2 months after the apparitions began, Bishop Hector Cardelli of San Nicholas had said, “When we refuse to listen to Mary when she tells us to obey what He tells us, when our will does not conform to that of God out of ignorance and refusal to accept it, the feast of our lives is left without the best wine; and we no longer celebrate, but rather we waste it and squander it on things that take us away from God, on pride and arrogance that supplant God.

The Message of San Nicholas: In nearly 1800 messages from Our Lady to Gladys over the seven years between 1983 abd 1990, She taught a pedagogy of prayer and the Christian life, asking that a sanctuary be built and promoting a prophetic catechism for the people of today, with their anguish and sufferings, in order to give them back hope supported in Jesus Christ, the Savior. She invites everyone to restore their life with God inside the Church with the essential means of faith and the sacraments, the love and sacrifice they promote, and the development of Christian virtues. Is this not what Our Lady promotes at all authentic apparitions? It is also true that these messages were not also without some grave warnings and what some would might all “apocalyptical” tones!

Eminent Marian theologian and author, Fr. Edward O’Connor, CSC, from the University of Notre Dame writes of Roses in December:

"What an inspiring work Roses in December is. I wish that I had read it before I wrote my present book, I Am Sending You Prophets, because ‘Roses’ is one of the best books on prophecy written by a contemporary author. I intend to reference it extensively in my next book on modern-day prophets. Beautifully written and thoroughly researched, ‘Roses’ is a gold mine of nuggets for the present-day scholar in the religious realm."

Fr. Kieran Kavanaugh, OCD, well-respected Marian and Mystical theologian, and expert on the many Carmelite mystic/saints, and spiritual director of Gianna Sullivan (2006-present), also gives high praise to "Roses":

"...This is an excellent book for those who value Our Lady’s apparitions and want an account of what really happened in these different parts of the world….(It) is a story as well of saints who were specially devoted to Mary: Teresa of Avila, Catherine Laboure, and Therese of Lisieux; Louis de Montfort, Bartolo Longo, John Bosco, Padre Pio, and Maximilian Kolbe, among others. But not all of the saints met with the admiration of the authorities, nor were their experiences of Our Lady recognized.... Dom Forker’s book concludes with a powerful defense of the apparitions of our lady of Emmitsburg to Gianna Sullivan.... (It) reminds us again how apparitions, visions, and locutions of heavenly figures have played an important role in the life of the Church throughout its history. Rene Laurentin says that the topic of apparitions is ‘the most poorly known and the least scientifically studied in all of theology’."

In turn, regarding Fr. O'Connor, Fr. Rene Laurentin, world-renowned Marian theologian who, after a ten year study, supports that the private revelations associated with Our Lady of Emmitsburg are authentic, praises the recent timely book of Fr. O’Connor, "I Am Sending You PROPHETS - The Role of Apparitions in the History of the Church (which is today another good and essential book to read):

"What Father O’Connor dares to take up here is the eternal problem of prophecy.... (He) recalls the important place that women held among the early prophets.... Why is it that our world, in which scientific and technical progress advance more and more rapidly, has so little room for authentic prophecy, called to create a civilization of love? How can we awaken a receptivity - but one that is likewise discriminating - to this source so little appreciated?... The account offered here.... invites us to reawaken in the Church the spiritual factor, which has been marginalized by technical and bureaucratic totalitarianism." (Fr. Laurentin, July 7, 2004)

The End Of This Era

THE END OF THIS ERA
A Linkage of Science and Religion
by Professor Courtenay Bartholomew

Imprimatur

- Bishop Sidney A. Charles, St. George’s, Grenada, November 27, 2008

In his timely and most recent new book, "The End of This Era, A Linkage of Science and Religion" (2009), and with the Imprimatur from Roman Catholic Bishop Sydney A. Charles, St. George’s, Grenada, 27 November, 2008, Professor Bartholomew traces the development of both science and religion with God from the creation of the world, through the origins of life, through the prophecies of ancient civilizations and those of the more recent modern day prophets in this “Age of Mary,” through Biblical Prophecy to the current threats from both microscopic and macroscopic global terrorism, and through the warnings of and preparations for “the end of this era.” But, as always, if this plan truly is of God, it must be a message of hope; and that hope is delivered to humanity from the Triune God through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The End of This Era: A Linkage of Science and Religion...

In this best selling book Professor Bartholomew provides plausible scientific explanations of the appearance of “two suns” on the horizon as he references Our Lady of Emmitsburg’s public message to the world through Gianna Sullivan on June 1, 2008:

"When you see two suns appearing on the horizon, you must know that this is a time of change, a time of this new beginning about which I have spoken to you before. After you see the two suns, there is only a short time before you will see a tremendous change in weather. After this, there are more changes to come.... After awhile, you will see a time when there is another body in the orbit around your solar system coming between the Earth and the Sun and leading to tremendous devastation...." The Secrets, Chastisement, and Triumph

and What Heaven is Calling us to Do

by Dr. Kelly Bowring

Do not delay reading this recently released (2009) book: "The Secrets, Chastisement, and Triumph of the Two Hearts of Jesus and Mary", by theologian and Southern Catholic professor, Dr. Kelly Bowring. It very thoroughly compiles most of what has been revealed in both Sacred Scripture and Tradition, the writings of the saints, and some current and reliable private revelation. Most importantly, this new book carries the Imprimatur of His Eminence Ricardo J. Vidal, Archbishop of Cebu, Philippines.

Dr. Bowring Book Summary and Ordering Information...

How is it that Cardinal Vidal, a Prince of the Roman Catholic Church, can grant the Church’s Imprimatur to Dr. Bowring’s book, and the Cardinals and Bishops in the United States and many parts of the world shy away from any of Our Lord’s and Our Lady’s countless words being heard on every continent of help, assistance, an warning about "this end of an era" and times ahead, dismissing for whatever reason the messages as if they were from Satan himself as well as shunning the messengers as if they were the lepers of the Old Testament times?
